      wow yeah, never heard of getting the M30 block bored out that far before. Guess it's not much more than the M30B38, but the car is too heavy for that high revving engine. The reason I declined the E34 M5's B34, B36 and B38 - not much added torque.

    Thanks for showing us the legendary BMW E32. This was way ahead of its time in technology, comfort, safety and reliability. Next, they should do a video of the BMW 750IL from 1987. That would be cool!
    They should also maybe show a video of the 767 Goldfisch prototype running!
    Finally, I think BMW should make more classic parts available for the legendary E32 and E38. They are already doing a great job with classic parts.
    Keep up the good work, guys!

    Those throwing Star wheels at 2:39 also came on my 850CSi as OEM. What would we call the V-16? M70B67? I'm sure the "Goldfish" didn't go into production because it was nose heavy as hell and we still got the same power out of the 2 valve OBDI V-12 S70B56 in the 850CSi. Hopefully they do an episode on my E31's. I had the first M73 powered car and a one of a kind 850CSi, both restored to showroom condition with end of production OEM updates.

  • @houseofno

    Paul Rosche's nickname was called "Nocken Paul" which translated means "Camshaft Paul." Paul Rosche passed away in 2016. Paul was famous for developing BMW's most iconic M brand engines, including the M88 in the M1, the S14 in the E30 M3 and while not technically an M car engine, also engineered the Turbo M10 four cylinder found in the original 2002 Turbo.

    • @Hvitserk67
      @Hvitserk67 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      The story of Paul Rosche is so much cooler. Rosche also designed the M12/13 engine which was a racing variant of the more normal M10 engine which was used in the E10 and E21 models, among others. The M12/13 engine was used by the F1 team Brabham in their BT52, BT53, BT54, BT55 and BT56 models. The team owner was Bernie Ecclestone (former chief executive of the Formula One Group, which manages Formula One motor racing and controls the commercial rights to the sport) and the chief engineer was none other than Gordon Murray. The M12/13 straight-four of only 1499 cm3 produced at best up to 1500 HP and 1250 Nm in the qualifying runs, but was detuned to 850-900 HP in the actual races. Paul Rosche also designed the legendary S70/2 V12 engine in the McLaren F1, which was also designed by Gordon Murray.

      Sorry to be the wiseguy.🤣
      Nockenwelle = camshaft
      Nocke = cam
      So the translated nickname should be „Cam Paul“, perhaps “Paul the Cam“ would be a bit more colloquial.

    • @houseofno
      @houseofno ปีที่แล้ว

      Agreed. If you think feeding twelve cylinders at the pump is expensive, try feeding sixteen of them. Thankfully the modern S55 and the S65 can beat those numbers with just six or eight cylinders instead of sixteen. Not exactly Prius gas mileage but certainly more gas friendly than the Goldfish.

    • @SSFproductions1
      @SSFproductions1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@houseofno i think the V16 is about the same as the V12 gas wise. Unless you race it.
      Ive had a 750i e32. Try filling it up (100L) at corona times. It would have been +€200 to fill up 🙈🙈

    • @houseofno
      @houseofno ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SSFproductions1 I doubt it. Those extra four cylinders don't eat for free anymore than the other twelve do. My car is the iL the long body. That's an extra four inches on the rear doors and another four hundred pounds on the curb weight.
