A trick I own has the same concept as that, very good gaffer! 248
Beeswax was a common roughing substance in the late 1920's/early 1930's. There are two downsides to it: it has a slight color cast, and it can make noise when separating. Paraffin wax is very clear, but can also "talk." Some brands of white crayons work similarly as well. There were a bunch of new roughing products in the 1930's and everyone stopped using wax because the formula for the roughing fluid that gamblers used, which works better than wax and is quiet, became known to the magic world and was commercially available in magic shops. Your roughing balm is mostly wax but mixed with some of the ingredients used in roughing fluid to be a good middle ground.

Hi, I was watching this video and almost at the beginning you mentioned that you coated the card with "roofing barm" or something like that. Can you explain what is that for? Thanks in advance.
It's a ķind of wax coating which when applied to a card will stick to another card, like the invisible deck

great tutorial gaffer also can't you do the blue peter thing with the needle through the card like blue tack or plasticine under the needle and use something like a pebble stone or even a thimble to push the needle through also my guess on the written number 879 the number of subs you have atm lol :)
