    I love making my own gimmicks so I love this in general. So many “magicians” say “I don’t want to make gimmicks I want to buy them” the issue with that is (to me) it sounds like lack of experience. Making gimmicks is an ancient art and on top of that it creates creativity in you. Learning methods to gimmick making allows you to learn methods and be innovative. Magic creators do this all the time. That’s how we end up with things like flap cards or card to wallet.

    Good presentation. Not always keen on gimmicked cards unless you can produce them from a full pack. You could start with just the gimmicked cards in the envelope in the “magic envelope” trick, though.

    Nice job --- luv diy gimmicked cards. Share a different reveal for 7:30 trick: I use a narrow envelope that opens at the end, instead of the top -- cut off the flap, an then I can turn over the envelope without the flap giving away the trick.✌️👍👏

    I never tried any gimmick, I am always scared to get busted. I stick to tricks where only has the sleight and routine has to be prepared.
    I would love some sort of electronic and invisible Gimmicks, for instance with a hidden switch in my shoe or else.
    Any Idea?

    • @AboutMagic
      @AboutMagic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree with your ideas about gimmicks. The only thing that comes to my mind are playing cards that have chips embedded into them. By placing the card over a secret reader, a magician can tell the identity. This was sold about ten years ago and was very expensive. But spectators would probably never discover the chip. Thanks for writing and best regards.

    These are good, but not safe in front of an audience.
    Why? Nothing is examinable.
    You can not go like ”look, these are normal cards...” Unless you ad a discharge system

    • @AboutMagic
      @AboutMagic  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You're right. Gimmicked cards - depending on the card trick - are always suspect. I always recommend that a magician always follow a gimmicked card trick with another trick to take the heat off of the cards. Try to get the spectator interested in something new before he has a chance to wonder if the cards were legit.
