Hello Michelle. I don't even know what to say, this is such a lifesaver. I have been praying and waiting on the Lord for my healing and I know that He is my healer! It is also good to do therapy and I do not use insurance and I do not have extra funds for this type of specific therapy. I am thrilled to have found your videos. I injured my pinky finger three and a half months ago and then reinjured it twice since then. ..just being a busy busy hard working mom. I basically banged it really hard, then I really did not take care of it and then banged it really hard since then, twice. then one day when I was cleaning an Airbnb, I dropped a plate on it. I did not ice it and I just finished doing all of the cleaning at the Airbnb. So I have been beside myself, worried and in tears, feeling like I will never be able to use my hand again. I have been trusting the Lord and declaring healing over myself. God's Word says that by His strips we are healed, and it is true. He is healing me! I appreciate your free videos more than you know!! Thank you so very much!!! May God Bless you Michelle for all of your precious giving!

Thank you. This video and others on forearm stiffness are incredibly helpful. I’m 67 and taking up the violin. To play you need very relaxed fingers in the left hand for the intonation of the strings. I think it’s a combination of age and exercise focusing on strength makes these fingers and arm quite stiff and unable to manage the delicate extension of the finger tips along the strings. I’m exploring all your videos for more help. Thank you

Thank you, I hope so. So far the only way to make this easier is to use damp hand socks and heat.
I worked with a temp agency since 2019 so I didn't have insurance, so when I fell on 6/27/21 and broke it, I couldn't get the care I needed until insurance kicked in. So my fingers haven't been bent since end of June.
Surgeon had to re-break my wrist, got 2 clips inserted, bone graph and plate.
I'm glad I found your channel, I only had so far 1 hand therapy session. More on the way. My hope is back. Hand therapy is awesome, painful and so necessary.

I've had gout issues in my hands and had a bad attack in my left hand over two years ago. I've tried all kind of things. My index finger doesn't have much range of motion at all. I'm mainly a bass player and it doesn't affect that so much. I do play a little bit of guitar and I'm having trouble playing a couple basic chords that I didn't have trouble playing before. I did the exercises on that finger and I'm feeling clicking in there now. I have a feeling this is going to work and I will continuously do the exercises. I do want to thank you very much. I can do most things but it really bothers me that those couple basic chords I can't play well anymore. Anyway I will try to keep you posted. Thanks again. Happy new year.

Great video. These exercises already help. I know a lot of people who would love to see a video on how to recovery from pulley injuries that often happen to rock climbers. There are already some videos on this but you have a really nice presentation style and are incredibly knowledgeable about the specifics of fingers. I have a pulley injury on my index finger (a mild strain, just irritated, nothing requiring surgery) but is taking a really long time to go away. I would love to hear your suggestions for how to rehab this. There are a LOT of rock climbers who would be very interested I'm sure. Thank you for your videos. They're great.

I've been a follower of this channel for a few months and found some of the execr-ized useful for regaining hand mobiltiy. I broke my wrist and required surgery.
In the accident my median nerve was damaged. I've had physical therapy and have regained full mobility of my hand. I can make a natural quick tight strong fist.
But because I'm getting bad feedback from my fingers it feels as if I'm stiff even when I'm not bending those two fingers or my thumb. As I'm slowly regaining sensation the sensation if stiffness is decreasing. My conclusion is that median nerve damage can be mistaken for joint stiffness. Faulty proprioception and lack of fine sensation can be mistaken for loss of mobility if you aren't looking at the hand as you use it. Peripheral neuropathy can have the same effect.
My point is that exercises need to be matched to actual needs and the person who has a problem may not be able to identify exactly what the problem is. imo That is why an evaluation by a PTs isn't just useful, but necessary.

Hello, I'm 13 and about 2 weeks ago when I was training jiu jitsu, a little accident happened and my ring finger on my left got dislocated. My coach who used to do nursing attempted to relocate my finger. And well, it was better, not too twisted up anymore, just very slightly. Then later going back home, my finger was swelling up like crazy. I could barely move it, it just hurt. My 2 coaches said I didn't need to go to a doctor and to just have it heal by itself. The next day, I splinted my finger up, with a popsicle stick and an old stretchy sock. I had it splinted for just about a day. It was hard to straighten the finger but I managed to do it. Then after a few days my finger seemed like it was starting to get better. And now it's been about 2 weeks, my finger has gained quite a lot of its mobility and strength back, and I can effortlessly straighten the finger now. Only thing is, it's just still bruised quite a bit and I can't make a full fist yet. But I can nearly make a fist and fully bend the ring finger. So I'm just asking, in how long would you say I could start training again? Could I start training again with my finger taped up? And in how long would it fully heal without needing to go to a doctor? Thank you!

Broke my finger a year ago. Didn't receive proper care and have been suffering from finger stiffness since the injury. I have tried everything, including stress ball exercises and this is the only thing that has truly relieved the stiffness. Honestly, I feel like I have my finger back. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I like the last one using your hood hand between the webs which blocks the MPs. My OT made a plastic splint but it hurt my MPs where the K wires were. This doesn’t hurt my MPs and actually holds them from not bending better.

These worked great - the only issue for me is tight scar tissue over the DIP, so when I do the DIP Blocking stretch it feels like the skin is going to split. Hoping it will stretch over time.

This is my issue from a dog bite open fracture on the DIP. Have you found any info or relief from the extremely tight scar tissue issue?

    • @andreav2125
      @andreav2125 ปีที่แล้ว

@@loveiscontrol6123 Yes, I'm starting to - I've had one session of OT two days ago, where (after 10 minutes of heat) they're having me move the DIP joint independently, just far enough to feel the stretch (not pain) and hold. Also I'm told to do daily scar massage prior to the exercises. It's already moving better, and the therapist was pointing out the new "wrinkles" over that joint even after a few exercises on the first day. It's slow going, but little by little I'm gaining mobility. I really needed the therapist to be sure I was doing the right things without causing further damage.

Found your video. I've been a lil frustrated and discouraged bc it's been hard for me to get the mobility back in my fingers. I broke my ring finger which I had to have surgery to straightened my finger back with the pin method. Surgery was on 1/18/23 and my pin removal was on 2/17/23. Already done 2 weeks of therapy and I still have no used of my fingers. My PT has been working my broke finger, pinky and index. And with all the swelling in my hand and fingers that haven't help as well. Truly starting to lose hope here.

Michelle, I am 9 weeks out from a wrist fracture and cannot make a fist. I cannot get the top joints of my fingers to bend. Watching this video, I am able to isolate the other joints below the top one and bend those. but, What can I do to get this top joint to bend?
