Thanks Raj. I was able to fix my leaky bathtub faucet because of this video. I just replaced the washers. I would've quit if it wasn't for your great tips. WD-40 took a few applications before it started moving. Putting the handle back on to pull out the cartridge was genius.

Raj, thank you so much. My mind is a little more stress free. Tomorrow I am going to fix my leaking faucet using your instruction. I feel very confident after watching your video. I have prayed and prayed and prayed that I am able to accomplish this and now I am sure that I can thanks to your video. I am horrible with handling tools, just always been bad at it, but tomorrow I will buy the allen tool, wd40, a flat head and the thing you used to remove the washer/ring. I'm so excited now. @@islabonita6304 oh no….that is the common problem everyone having. If we hasn’t removed for long time, it get stuck with calcium buildup. @@learnfromraj Raj, just to update you and others. Over 4-5 days, I sprayed the area with vinegar, and each day the handle loosened. Today I was able to remove it. I am sure if someone added vinegar a few times a day it would work faster. Now the ring is stuck, so I am taking your advise and using WD40. Hopefully by tomorrow it will come off so I can replace the cartridge.

I watched about 10 of these and would rate 9 of them a 5. Raj on the other hand is a 10! He gives you two tips. One you can get a free cartridge from Delta. It was easy once I got the email right. Shipped free too. Two, there is a white plastic hub that is the temperature setting device. Watch Part #3 of this series to see exactly how to set. Trust me, pull out on hub and turn counter clockwise toward HOT as far as it will go. Now you and the handle have complete control of water temperature. If you don’t do this you will find yourself taking off handle and putting it back multiple times.

Hi Raj, it looked like you were turning the the lock collar to the right not left before you sprayed the WD40. My issue is the handle will not pull off with the grub/pinch screw completely removed. Won't pull off. Careful too when you push on the red spray tube onto the WD40, never point it at your eyes. Thanks for your video. People buying just the rubber seals need to bring them to the store to make sure they buy the right size. Cheers.

Very useful! I took mine apart with your help, looked over all the gaskets (I'm a contractor but NOT a plumber) and all the gaskets looked good. Its pretty new too (less than two years old). But there was a lot of mineral build up that may have formed near/around where gasket actually inserts and created a small opening so I cleaned everything out/up and I think that did it.

But when turning the handle further to the hot side I can't adjust the flow...it's always on full on the hot side. Can't adjust the flow on hot.

Raj watched your video it was great but my problem of leaking did not stop. I replaced my old Moen 1222 cartridge and replaced with a new cartridge Moen 1222 but the new cartridge was also leaking and my problem not corrected. Any suggestions what went wrong why the leak/dripping did not stop?

So sorry to hear that. Try spraying 4wd, wait and try to get it out. Hope you find a way to get it out. Worse scenario, you would need to cut the handle with a small saw and replace new handle. I ended up doing that for one of my wash room since the handle got stuck and couldn’t remove at all.

any suggestions on how to remove the handle if the allen key hole is rounded and the allen key cannot grip it? I am struggling to remove the actual handle as nothing will bite properly to the rounded hole.

This is a difficult situation. I had the same problem in one of my bathroom long time back and I had no other choice so I had to cut the handle with a mini saw and replaced with a new handle. Hope you find a way to get that handle out.
