The white terror kill was so satisfying to watch; super clean video from beginning to end I use these kind of quality videos to serve as my "guide" when stumbling upon these parts of the game since the builds end up both making sense, and even the harder challenges should be fun, not boring or "mindless". Edit: I didn't realize it was in the air. Still great content though lol
I could consistently get to the last stage using this strategy even if my materia wasn't fully leveled up, but the iron armor kicked my a-- every time. I had to switch out the Precision Block materia with Healing and use the Plasma ability from the Enemy materia but with that setup I got it on the second try. It was pretty darn hairy though.
Disorder goes airborne as long as you use it in punisher mode, doesn’t matter if you are prime mode or not. However, there is also a stance swap attack from prime mode that will put you aerial, although I didn’t use it here
honest to god, this fight took me 6 hours all because of that damn last fight but your guide carried me so hard, thank you so much. i feel like i understand how to play cloud now

How do you do that much damage to Ironclad with this build? I manage to pull off the combos in the right order but fail to get him down to half health after 2 stops on him
1:25 how did you avoid getting damaged by Gouge here? You were in punisher mode already. Was it a block or triange to change to operator to trigger a counter?
Beautiful! Everything you did made sense to me except Prime Mode. Is prime mode actually worth it? Like the damage from its strong attack isn’t that notable pretty sure… Is the berserk status it applies better than the one from normal punisher mode? Also just noticed that if you extend its strong attack, it applies fury instead of berserk (which only helps limit gauge, right?)
It’s final hit can do a decent chunk of damage, and it doesn’t give fury. It gives a stronger version of berserk on the middle hit that increases damage by 50% instead of 30%. Also those attacks give lots of ATB
For the ppl who just wanna finish this challenge. I used the same Build but insgesamt of berserk materia i used Guardian Angel (revives u when u die) and Instead of pirats accessory i used Ring of power (50 mag and phy def) Make shure u reach Iron Giant with Max mp…. And the Battle process stays the same….
I’m not totally sure how it works yet. There is seemingly a damage threshold that you have to hit to pressure it which gets higher as it deals damage. As in the video, just stop it early and do good burst damage. Cloud is decked with the STR up and elemental to help push his damage, and I had him berserk before hitting him with the braver. Keep in mind at a different weapon level it might take a bit more than that to pressure it.
I know I'm late, but did you get all the manuscripts before attempting this? Did you also finish the brutal challenges? I really want the platinum and don't want to wait to have these as my final interaction with the game, I want to end it on a not frustrating note, like finishing on hard
Nice go to combo, Looks like boost, prime mode, disorder, firebolt aerial onslaught?? I always thought firebolt was too slow and weak for combos until today
When they’re stopped and staggered the entire time they can’t do much about it. Yeah prime mode -> prime berserk -> disorder -> sonic boon -> firebolt blade -> aerial onslaught or braver. Firebolt blade isn’t that long of an animation. Pretty solid skill if they are hit by a weakness. Especially as an aerial extender. Aerial Onslaught takes more time, and triple slash not so good against single targets. Slow, Stop, and Stagger help to do combos like this, it’s pretty much impossible to do if they are fighting back unless the enemy type in question can be hitstunned with abilities. You’d need to weave Counterstances to make it work if they are active, but then that would make this combo too ATB heavy to work as it did.

analytics from remake showed that very few people actually bother to look at it. My upload speed is pretty bad so I’d rather just put it in the description
Maybe there are only a few guys who cares about your strategy and Materia build but i think that these few people are honestly thankful for every tip you can offer. I love this game and take my time to enjoy everything about it. Right now i'm almost 500 hours in and close to platin. Thanks to you i'm sure i will 👍
Berserk increases damage dealt and taken by 30%. So a 30% damage increase to berserked enemies. Not concerned about them dealing more damage as they can’t do anything while staggered
Ooooh bruh now I feel dumb. Never used Berserk before in Remake and Rebirth. It was different in the OG since it was turn based so your character was unusable when under the status effect. 😅
This isn’t a tutorial. Though you can sort of use the strategy prior to completion. It might not be quite as strong without the final weapon level but it’s functionally not gonna change much else

You can have a separate set of shortcuts for both ground combat and aerial combat, so yes 2 sets of shortcuts

Disorder goes airborne as long as you use it in punisher mode, doesn’t matter if you are prime mode or not. However, there is also a stance swap attack from prime mode that will put you aerial, although I didn’t use it here

Nevermind, i just noticed the tiiiiiny window between your opening disorder and first dodge where its pressured, which you cast stop on.
Yeah I used the punisher counter on gouge and stance swapped right after to avoid the second half of gouge into a Swiftcast stop spell
