I did think that when I first played it but that thought got lost among all the stuff that happened right after. It was such a short phase and they were kicking his ass during it, it felt like one of those victory lap bosses during that phase, so clearly he was like "Nope not dealing with this, let's cut this team-up out right now"

Sephiroth didn't quite lose this time, unlike Remake where it seemed he confidently won, but he seemed to want more than he exactly got in Rebirth. Zack will surely be playable in the third game (unless his inclusion here didn't 'play well' to audience in the devs' view), and I wouldn't entirely write off (a different?) Sephiroth being playable.

Kept the buster sword all the way to the end, except to get new abilities from the other swords. Not the most optimal and efficient way but it just felt weird without it. Really liking how the first and canon weapon in the remakes arent completely obsolete throughout the entire game.
That's been my go to but thinking about it, I'm debating on swapping swords not for gameplay sake but for the fact that Cloud needs to stand on his own 2 feet without Zack and having a different sword side by side to Zacks one of a kind sword makes it seems like their equal. (Even though Zack is LEAPS AND BOUNDS stronger than Cloud. At this point)
If I hadn’t played Crisis Core first then I would have stuck with a different sword that appealed to my visual tastes but because of Angeal, I had to honor him. So I stuck with the Buster Sword to prove my honor!
it is much better for them both to have buster swords. it is more symbolic. the proper way to play the game. the other weapons should only be used to gain their abilities for training and leveling with.
At this point Cloud has his own interpretation on who Zack is and what their relationship was so he is probably just like "oh man thought you died guess I was wrong"
Even though Cloud's brain tried to make him understand that Zack was dead, it did it in a way that protect Cloud from further trauma with more memories alteration. I gess It's one things to think that your friend died by drowning in a river, and another to see said Friend bleed in front of you After he saved you and took Care of your comatose self for one year and you and him were experimented on for four years 😢

He knows OF Zack's existence now, whereas he didn't find out until just a bit later in the OG, but his mind still refuses to accept the truth, and has instead come up with a new explanation; both him and Zack were there, as SOLDIER, there was an accident, the bridge snapped, Cloud made it, but Zack was dragged away in the river current, likely dying.
One of the greatest moments on vgm history. Wasn't even a l massive fan of Zack prior to this game, but it was executed so well that you couldnt help feel that rush.
@@alimichalkan8046 you need to get Zack's Charge to lvl 3. When you use it, there's a little QTE where you need to press square at the right time three Times to do the full move, and then it consumes all Zack charge level.
The fact that Cloud was able to meet a Zack who recognized him and with whom he fought in tandem may force Sephiroth to come up with another lie to break Cloud's spirit in the Northern Crater in part 3 if Cloud remembered at the very least that he and Zack were Friends, and got this confirmation from a version of the man himself, so yeah even with Cloud's memories of Nibelheim not being the same as Tifa's, Sephiroth may have a harder Time making Cloud beleive that he's not Real in part 3
Won't the reunion be extremely early in Part 3 unless they add serious filer? I don't see them really changing what goes down there. More than likely any changes they start doing will come after.
I have a feeling that this time Sephiroth will have easier time to control Cloud to do his bidding. And it has something to do with reunion of the worlds. As you remember, Seph said that Cloud need another nudge and then Cloud promptly slashed him and Seph gave him his blessing. Whatever that was, allowed Cloud to unconsciously use black arbiters to enter the temple where Aerith was praying. And considering the ending, where he brashed off the Black Materia like nothing, tells me that Seph actually has even tighter grip on Cloud than before. Whatever he did during the reunion of the worlds, will play its part again.

Cloud: “How the hell are you here? I thought you were dead!” Zack: “Since when did you become a badass? You were a vegetable last time I saw you!” Sephiroth shows up. Both of them: “Kill him first, figure this shit out later!”
I think the "save her" line here as well as a few other details in the last parts of the game mean they have to somehow or another save Aerith in the next game. Because if not that line just comes off as pointless because it's like "sorry man we are already too late for that" as well as some other parts of the end just kind of become unnecessary if it is simply "she is dead because that is just fate and all these little things are purely to mess with their players head in a meta way".
Really love how pissed zack sounds at sephiroth for disrespecting the SOLDIER honor would have been nice he mention angeal and genesis even they didn't sink that low(yet for genesis still unaware of his intend after dirge of cerberus)
The only way this could get crazier in Part 3 is if Re:timeline Cloud teams up with _Advent Children Cloud._ I could be proven wrong later on, but rn there’s no way I could be satisfied with all this timey-wimey stuff without the original Cloud (voiced by Steve Burton, as unlikely as that is) coming back for Round 3 as well.

Weird. Cloud wasn't even shocked. Like literally no emotions at all on the reaction. Ik they're in danger but thats not how i imagined he would react seeing his bestfriend that saved his life. Prolly just because of the execution, if they gave it a few more minutes we could of get atleast something
i think zack would have his own episode like yuffie before the 3rd final game. we never see him in that worldline where he goes to meet hojo but gets ambushed instead.
Cloud is a fairly nonplussed individual so I think it is on brand for him. But I do agree the pacing is so frickin fast at this last part of the game that things are just coming and going so fast.
also pretty sure Cloud doesn't remember them being best friends... just that Zack was on the Nibelheim mission and possibly died in the river. to Cloud, it's like seeing an old co-worker (rather than a friend who died right in front of you)

Unsure of what the moment will be like in part 3 that does the flashing cuts. But an idea I had was it being Cloud and Zack in separate places fighting against Sephiroth with Tifa and Aerith respectively. Also for coolness factor instead of the buster sword Cloud instead uses the Fusion Sword.
Why did the dark whispers leave Clouds body after Zack touched him at 0:58? Is it possible that Zack can manipulate the whispers too since he was able to easily adapt to Jenova’s cells like Sephiroth?

It's never been really clear throughout the compilation just how much of his genocidal insanity as well as him adopting some of her instinctual behaviour as tangible goals is really Jenova's lingering consciousness (if any) asserting some subtle control over him, if anything the series also makes a case of it being the other way around and Sephiroth was just that vengeful and crazy, which is also supported by what Hojo says about his reunion theory at the Whirlwind Maze in the original game, as well as the FF7 10th Anniversary Ultimania

Both Zack and Cloud having Buster Sword is a mistake for the flow of story. More accurately Zack cant have Buster Sword. Studio should have paid attention this detail for FF7 fans.
Multiple worlds and timelines happening at the same time or flowing at the same time. Every single timeline and world with Zack in that world LIVING or not will also have the buster sword but it also has to have Angeal existing in that world in order to pass down the buster sword for the timeline to be chronologically correct unless there multiple changes where Angeal never existed in one or more timeline and Zack is the original owner or the ONLY one who owns the buster sword. For Zack he's existing in multiple timelines at once and according to what I know and why other people found, every version of Zack was meant to die from the meteor that Sephiroth sends throughout all timelines besides the timeline where the party is. The same thing was supposed to happen to Zack where Sephiroth sends Zack into the black life stream with the black whispers but Aerith sees this and she cleanses the black life stream making it the white life stream with the white light. The petal flowers hints to us the player that Aerith is the one who cleansed as she knows that it takes more than Aerith herself and the party to defeat Sephiroth, so what does is she has Zack wait in the life stream running around until Aerith teleports Cloud into the life stream so Zack can tap out Cloud and reunite. The plan was to defeat Sephiroth but after being overwhelmed by Zack and Cloud he splits Zack and Cloud, creating another timeline for Zack to fall into a destroyed church. And after defeating Sephiroth Zack looks at the meteor that Sephiroth created coming towards him as this was the same meteor that was going to destroy ALL EVER EXISTING WORLD AND TIMELINE besides the main timeline or the real world, but Aerith sees this as she's always watching Zack, she creates another timeline where the meteor doesn't destroy that timeline and Zack falls through the church floor into Aerith timeline that she created JUST for Zack. The buster sword will exist in every possible timeline and world as long Angeal has the sword and he passed it to Zack and as long as Zack doesn't pass the sword to Cloud which in the multiple timelines, Zack doesn't die so Zack would have the buster sword while in the real world Cloud has the sword as the Zack Fair that died was the same Zack Fair we saw at the beginning of Rebirth and that end of REMAKE. This Zack is the same Zack Fair from Crisis Core while the other Zack Fair's are just another version of the original Zack but with the same memories and the path he chooses gives him new memories and different choices from the other path he chooses. So the buster sword exists everywhere as long as Angeal exists in the past of THAT specific timeline and as long as Zack doesn't die and he doesn't pass on the sword.
Imagine original zack voice actor, feel like it would be way nore impactful. Also his voice sounds nore authentic and real. Plus added on to are memories of that voice it would be more impactfull. Its not that this voice actor for the new zack isnt a good actor, its just to me his voice does not match zack and dosent have that depth to it that make zack sound more real. Its like theres no real emotion behind his voice. Not trying to 💩 on the guy, I can tell he is a good voice actor but just doesn't for for me. I just prefer the original. More depth to me. And no im not just missing the original i actually like the voice actor for cloud probably more and tifa and maybe the whole cast. Sephiroth is hard for me i would probably say the original but the new one is basically the same. Yeah the new crew has nore of that depth in there emotional range then the older cast i feel like.

I ran other weapons for sude missions and ran buster sword for all main story. Probs made it a bit harder but it just felt RIGHT

I think the "save her" line here as well as a few other details in the last parts of the game mean they have to somehow or another save Aerith in the next game. Because if not that line just comes off as pointless because it's like "sorry man we are already too late for that" as well as some other parts of the end just kind of become unnecessary if it is simply "she is dead because that is just fate and all these little things are purely to mess with their players head in a meta way".
But Zack doesn't know that. He's going off what Marlene told him.
In the Japanese dub he just says "Aerith"
Really love how pissed zack sounds at sephiroth for disrespecting the SOLDIER honor would have been nice he mention angeal and genesis even they didn't sink that low(yet for genesis still unaware of his intend after dirge of cerberus)
The only way this could get crazier in Part 3 is if Re:timeline Cloud teams up with _Advent Children Cloud._
I could be proven wrong later on, but rn there’s no way I could be satisfied with all this timey-wimey stuff without the original Cloud (voiced by Steve Burton, as unlikely as that is) coming back for Round 3 as well.
This was such a great surprise including Zack in the final battle

Best fight out of the whole game. Just pure fun kicking his butt. Cloud and Zack is a deadly duo. Remind me a lot of Sora and Riku vs Xemnas in KH2.

Zack is the prisoner of fate, Cloud is the wanderering SOLDIER, and Sephiroth thinks himself as the hero.
The entire trilogy happens in the 5 seconds flash back when Cloud needed to master the will to face Sephy in Advent Children.

Weird. Cloud wasn't even shocked. Like literally no emotions at all on the reaction. Ik they're in danger but thats not how i imagined he would react seeing his bestfriend that saved his life. Prolly just because of the execution, if they gave it a few more minutes we could of get atleast something
i think zack would have his own episode like yuffie before the 3rd final game. we never see him in that worldline where he goes to meet hojo but gets ambushed instead.
Cloud is a fairly nonplussed individual so I think it is on brand for him. But I do agree the pacing is so frickin fast at this last part of the game that things are just coming and going so fast.
also pretty sure Cloud doesn't remember them being best friends... just that Zack was on the Nibelheim mission and possibly died in the river. to Cloud, it's like seeing an old co-worker (rather than a friend who died right in front of you)

Maybe there's mess emotion this Time because this Cloud doesnt remember the way he once admired Zack and looked up to him, or the fact that they only had each others for 5 years. It doesnt seem like it was the same in crisis core and reunion, but in FF7 OG Cloud and Zack were conscious when they were prisonners in the Nibelheim labs, and they were on the run for one year After escaping

Unsure of what the moment will be like in part 3 that does the flashing cuts. But an idea I had was it being Cloud and Zack in separate places fighting against Sephiroth with Tifa and Aerith respectively.
Also for coolness factor instead of the buster sword Cloud instead uses the Fusion Sword.
I'm curious how part 3 is gonna top this.
Why did the dark whispers leave Clouds body after Zack touched him at 0:58? Is it possible that Zack can manipulate the whispers too since he was able to easily adapt to Jenova’s cells like Sephiroth?
No I think it was Sephiroth doing that, he had a hold over Cloud and released Zack when he touched him

It's funny seph keeps calling cloud a puppet when he himself is the biggest puppet of jenova. I find that hypocritical of him. Even worse he still thinks she's an ancient when all she is is an alien parasite
It's never been really clear throughout the compilation just how much of his genocidal insanity as well as him adopting some of her instinctual behaviour as tangible goals is really Jenova's lingering consciousness (if any) asserting some subtle control over him, if anything the series also makes a case of it being the other way around and Sephiroth was just that vengeful and crazy, which is also supported by what Hojo says about his reunion theory at the Whirlwind Maze in the original game, as well as the FF7 10th Anniversary Ultimania
The hypocrisy kinda makes me dislike Sephiroth. Which is a good thing since he's you know, evil.

i dont understand why rebirth does not let you use cloud with the og first class uniform, its already in the first part of the game fully. same with tifas cowgirl outfit and barrets flashback clothes. makes no sense at all.

Both Zack and Cloud having Buster Sword is a mistake for the flow of story. More accurately Zack cant have Buster Sword. Studio should have paid attention this detail for FF7 fans.
Multiple worlds and timelines happening at the same time or flowing at the same time. Every single timeline and world with Zack in that world LIVING or not will also have the buster sword but it also has to have Angeal existing in that world in order to pass down the buster sword for the timeline to be chronologically correct unless there multiple changes where Angeal never existed in one or more timeline and Zack is the original owner or the ONLY one who owns the buster sword. For Zack he's existing in multiple timelines at once and according to what I know and why other people found, every version of Zack was meant to die from the meteor that Sephiroth sends throughout all timelines besides the timeline where the party is. The same thing was supposed to happen to Zack where Sephiroth sends Zack into the black life stream with the black whispers but Aerith sees this and she cleanses the black life stream making it the white life stream with the white light. The petal flowers hints to us the player that Aerith is the one who cleansed as she knows that it takes more than Aerith herself and the party to defeat Sephiroth, so what does is she has Zack wait in the life stream running around until Aerith teleports Cloud into the life stream so Zack can tap out Cloud and reunite. The plan was to defeat Sephiroth but after being overwhelmed by Zack and Cloud he splits Zack and Cloud, creating another timeline for Zack to fall into a destroyed church. And after defeating Sephiroth Zack looks at the meteor that Sephiroth created coming towards him as this was the same meteor that was going to destroy ALL EVER EXISTING WORLD AND TIMELINE besides the main timeline or the real world, but Aerith sees this as she's always watching Zack, she creates another timeline where the meteor doesn't destroy that timeline and Zack falls through the church floor into Aerith timeline that she created JUST for Zack. The buster sword will exist in every possible timeline and world as long Angeal has the sword and he passed it to Zack and as long as Zack doesn't pass the sword to Cloud which in the multiple timelines, Zack doesn't die so Zack would have the buster sword while in the real world Cloud has the sword as the Zack Fair that died was the same Zack Fair we saw at the beginning of Rebirth and that end of REMAKE. This Zack is the same Zack Fair from Crisis Core while the other Zack Fair's are just another version of the original Zack but with the same memories and the path he chooses gives him new memories and different choices from the other path he chooses.
So the buster sword exists everywhere as long as Angeal exists in the past of THAT specific timeline and as long as Zack doesn't die and he doesn't pass on the sword.
Imagine original zack voice actor, feel like it would be way nore impactful. Also his voice sounds nore authentic and real. Plus added on to are memories of that voice it would be more impactfull. Its not that this voice actor for the new zack isnt a good actor, its just to me his voice does not match zack and dosent have that depth to it that make zack sound more real. Its like theres no real emotion behind his voice. Not trying to 💩 on the guy, I can tell he is a good voice actor but just doesn't for for me. I just prefer the original. More depth to me. And no im not just missing the original i actually like the voice actor for cloud probably more and tifa and maybe the whole cast. Sephiroth is hard for me i would probably say the original but the new one is basically the same. Yeah the new crew has nore of that depth in there emotional range then the older cast i feel like.
