    There are some real gems there Sam. I love a scrap/remnant vlog to inspire me so that's great thanks. I have a metre of 45" wide poplin and cant find anything to make with it as yet. Not an Ogden cami fan so tricky. Good shout about the seam allowances and cutting it smaller too. 😄

      Ooh I bet it looks fab in a double gauze - have you shared it on Instagram, I'd love to see it 🤗 A 1 metre challenge would be a great idea wouldn't it maybe I'll organise something for a future IG challenge. Most things you can get out of 1 metre vs best usage of 1 metre 🤔

    Some interesting patterns and love the one you are wearing. Not sure if it's the way I was taught many, many years ago, but I use as little fabric as I can and squeeze the pattern pieces close together. I enjoy the puzzle of putting the pattern on the fabric, weird that's me......

    • @Frugalisama
      @Frugalisama  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Susan, yes the Geo tank is something a bit different for a tank pattern - I always try & squeeze as much out of the fabric as I can too - it's all part of the fun🤣

  • @debrariley2057
    @debrariley2057 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Another nice informative video. I often see a fabric shortage sometimes brings surprises, nothing wrong in using another offcut for bindings, or facings and often they can bring another dimension to a garment, plain body with a flowery binding or facings. As for the seam allowances how often do we sew the full seam allowance only to overlock most of it off.

    • @Frugalisama
      @Frugalisama  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      So true about the seam allowances Debra - I can see why they are used for fit but once we know something fits us it's such a waste to cut them off!!

  • @SunShine-000
    @SunShine-000 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Love your videos and appreciate your Frugal Friday’s the most and this one was a home run! Nothing wrong with screen shots, either. I find I save the most fashion fabric by making all interior trims from off cuts. I save the most by not including the hems when I cut my pattern and use hem facings instead. The extra seam adds stability to the hem, too, so it is a feature I use regularly. And if the fashion fabric is bulky, I use a lighter weight fabric for the facing. Also I never cut the full pocket from fashion fabric. I only use about two inches of fashion fabric and piece the rest of the pocket with off cuts. That way, my fashion fabric still shows at the edge of the garment. Just sent you a ko-fi but forgot to leave a note with it. Hope you meet your goal soon!
