I don’t think I’ve ever subscribed fast. As soon as you displayed “Lick 1” and started playing I was sold. Right to the content, thank you
Thanks for the comment
At first I was annoyed that everything is in a key that I rarely use (Bb), but now I thank you for forcing me to think a little differently ;)
Bb is a very important key in jazz / blues
Good lesson. Been playing metal for years and this lesson is good because the licks are really easy and make sense!
Yes these licks are useful for a first approach.
My kind of lesson...no 8 minute prologue on the history of music.
The history of music can be very interesting .... but it is not the aim of this channel
Spot on!
Yes, I’m tired of having to fast forward the intros
I find it super annoying when they talk over the music and talking and pausing after every single note they play. "then a b flat, and a G sharp and an F"
Wes Montgomery used to play with his thumb, and the sound he produced with his Gibson was unique.
Thks buddy for UPLOADING THE LICKS I APPRECIATED VERY MUCH.. NOW I HAVE HOME WORK FOR 2MTHS I GOT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY THOSE LICKS. THANKS ONCE AGAIN ..AWESOME. I HAVE IBANEZ JAZZ GUITAR TOO
I'm late to the party but eternally grateful for finding this channel!
Welcome :)
This is exactly the lesson I've been looking for. I've just recently started experimenting putting some jazz into my blues playing, these licks will be going into my arsenal. Cheers and stay safe to one and all!!
Thanks for your comment
Well, this is a very useful lesson. No bla bla. Everything is easy to understand and practice. I’m enthusiastic about this Wes Montgomery stuff.
Thanks for watching it ;)
Not the last time. :-)
Hope you can do more like this.
Stef thank you so much this is so well done and incredibly helpful I am working on both ear training and vocabulary and this is what I’ve been looking for so many other jazz videos get way over my head so quickly I finally feel like I am making some progress thank you very much for having a positive impact on my playing please know that you are making a difference for many musicians around the world
Thanks for the kind words Joe…glad it helps
If y’all wanna rly start playin like Wes, start learning how to pick with ur thumb, that man had the fastest thumb I ever seen
And if I want to learn Django Reinhardt licks I need to burn my fingers?
ahahaha
Lil Wayne seems to be in the right track
Wow a great teacher great idea to repeat the bars for us beginners to catch on and get some confidence. I love Lenny Breau Ed Bickert Albert Lee the Hellecasters Lorne Lofsky Bill Frizzell... everything guitar. As a struggling aging 🎸 player i really appreciate what you are doing 😊 thank you from Toronto
Thanks
They are kinda cute, especially lick9! 😄🎸🎸🎸🎸💗
🎸👍
great lesson!...simple and gets the spirit of Wes.
Thanks Roberto... even if Wes played with his thumb.
How can stuff this easy sound so dang good?!!! Excellent video!

Yay thanks! I'm learn sonnymoon for two and these licks r great!
👍
Great bro! You have a new follower from spain.
Thanks
Clean, straight forward...
That's the concept ;)
In lick #4, the tab says 8s9 on the B string but I think you're actually playing 7s8?
You're right ! Playing 7s8 highlights the 13th, 8s9 highlights the eleventh. This one seems more appropriate in this context. The choice is yours ;)
Jazz guitar licks ok. Great video, thanks!
7thString o

???
Jazz Guitar Licks good
Each style of teaching is different but to be friendly... This is not my type of teaching style but it's just me.
no need to talk for an hour for teaching 10 licks...earing and playing... that's the best way
Thanks!
;)
Super bueno. it´s very good
thanh you :)
You're welcome
TEDIOUS
This is so easy to play
:P
Genial muchas gracias
😉
this is lick from west coast blues
Right
that's what it says lmaoo
West Coast Blues licks
That’s it !
awesome stuff just subscribed. Jazzy stuff is very hard to play haha
Thanks
Great ! .. now imagine he played all the single note runs and solos just with 3 fretting fingers, no pinky. Wanna redo it just like that ? 😇 I bet not... He only used his left hand pinky for octaves and some cords.. incredible, isnt it ?
3:56
excelente, mil gracias
Thanks Rafael
Master!!
;)
so good
Glad you like it ;)
Merci beaucoup !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
;)
1:46 Lick 3 seems like a D# Lydian, but than that Ab, and it sounds so belonging to the scale. What's going on?
EDIT: Oh I see they're all Bb, and it's Mixolydian, and still, in this case there's an A out of the mode that sounds so belonging.
is genial
;)
Suenan hermosos esos licks
sí lo son ;)
Great!
Thx
Interesante muchas gracias
😉
Epic
Thanks
Wes Montgomery didn't use a pick. He's still my favorite jazz guitarist so I enjoyed the video all the same. Thanks
Indeed Wes used to play with his thumb
working on emily remler at the moment, this lesson fits like fist on eye. thanx!
Thanks ;)

Tem como baixar o PDF?
Perfect ...
Thanks
Wow! Thanks so much! Subscribed.
Thanks
Hi ! This is great but why all the examples in 3/4 ?
cause they are taken from west coast blues ...in 3/4
good lesson / have note and chord /
I'm new to playing guitar so maybe I'm totally wrong, but the second lick sounds like it's in the key of Eb?
The 2nd lick is built with the Bb Mixolydian mode starting on the 11th (Eb). It can also be seen as the Eb major scale (Ionian), so you're not wrong. These two modes share the same notes. Bb7 is the V7 of Eb.
@@jazzguitarlicks Aah, I see. I'll need to take a dive into modes in a little while, but this makes sense for now. Great video and thanks for the reply!
If you are new in playing guitar it's better to start with arpeggios
Great
Thanks
Hi, thank you for the jazz guitar licks, do you have a backing track to play with for
all the licks. Thanks again :)
th-cam.com/channels/3Nf709VMJmhvP1mNoxNC3g.html
can these licks use in any kind of genre or just jazz?
Hello thanks for the lesson ;)
there's an error on the tab of lick 4, you're playing F# to G, on the high notes of the lick, not G to G#
yeah, I came to comments to see if anyone else caught that.. it's just one fret too high..
c est beau
+miredo acompa C'est bien ;)
Magnifique
Any advice for fusion licks in A harmonic minor? I got some funky riffs and groovy rhythms but have no idea about how to play the leads
No sorry
Great stuff all mostly in the same key ?
yes... in the same key
🔥🔥🔥🔥
