      Yeah, that really did seem out of place. Extra Ballast just placed wrong? Maybe the designer had a senior moment and forgot that more weight was not the way to cure instability anymore..... Nup. Think its just to get attention, would never really get placed in a boat of that size. This was meant to be a performance boat wasn't it? Mmmm. Looking up the website now.

    As someone that's spent a life time working and sailing the world oceans I couldn't think of anything worse to go to sea in. This is nothing but a high-tech nightmare for the crew and a money pit of repairs, maintenance and headaches for an owner! The video of it sailing wasn't any better! Constant jib leech flapping and the boat stalled doesn't instil confidence in the design or crew. You can clearly see this boat was designed and conceived by people that have spent very little time upon the water. Simplicity is perfection in yacht design, anyone can make something complex!

      Totally agree. I can't find words to depitc this atrocity. The battery box (not even a room) crowded of 24 lition batteries probably without a proper cooling system (just becuase dosen't fit) in the middle of the hull is the most hazardous design I never seen. Sail plan looks a little small and every shot it looked like it was bobbing around in the water vs being a stable platform that’s going to be comfortable at anchor. It looks good though.

    • @Skaelya

      Well the boat is a trimaran that is relatively narrow as in it isn't wide. So the form stability of such a boat is fairly low despite being a trimaran... And it's a luxury multi hull... Well let's just Say that on those boats weight stability should just really be called weight unstability :/

    What I love about it is when it comes to design, I am all about Function over Form. Whether furniture or appliances or vehicles. But Particularly on a yacht where a large part of the time you use it you’re in bathing suits or lounging around during passages without a tux or martini. I want comfortable couches and chairs not uber stylish things that are.. well maybe not torturously Uncomfortable but definitely not comfy. Usually these are mutually exclusive. You can’t have a swank cocktail party with your very stylish friends with a big ole Lazy boy in the middle of the room. So to be able to have real working comfortable design solutions that look fabulous, then you’ve sold me!!

      When I was a kid, I had a Countach poster on my wall... I loved the absurdity of it all... it looked like absolutely nothing else and seemed to be the kind of car for someone who simply wasn't interested in what they were "supposed" to do, as it was designed by people who didn't care at all what a car was "supposed" to look like. This boat, on first glance, took me right back to being that little kid staring at the Countach. In a world of boring white boats that all sort of look the same, all a bit too tall, with a fly bridge that doesn't quite fit, and an attempt to throw a few curves on a floating hotel... this just pulls up and says "lets maybe not be so sensible for a minute... let's just enjoy being a little bit crazy for now."

    A. When we saw her in construction I never realised she was a sailing yacht. Just assumed it was a motor yacht.
    B. She looks like a nightmare to sail

      Not really , both sails are roller furling (jib and mainsail) and ( I assume) with electric winches you would be sailing with just a push of a button. ( or two) .. very easy as long as you didn't break a finger nail ..lol

    • @dickkingswell5249
      @dickkingswell5249 3 ปีที่แล้ว +80

      @@stephenmurray9850 Well, whoever is sailing her in the video should learn what to do with the sails! The jib was flapping around like a towel on a clothes line and consequently the boat was wallowing as if it were half full of water - not at all as fast or as comfortable as a trimaran should be!

    I know nothing about sailing and very little about sailboats but I've watched a lot of yacht videos and this was the first one that ever gave me a shiver up my spine. That's a beautiful boat, a work of art, not sure how it preforms against other designs but it ranks first in aesthetics and for half billion, it better! lol

    • @joshj2130
      @joshj2130 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Half billion? Lol. It's $4.25 million. A half billion is $500 million. Big difference bud!! A half billion would literally buy you a used 900 foot long cruise ship with 600 rooms and even more bathrooms.....

    Loved every bit of it and, I must say, with a smile on my face. One suggestion though, for the next video. If you happen to be at the table (having what appeared to be a lovely paella), specially when there's a lady, it would be a nice touch to excuse yourself with fellow diners when getting up to do that last sequence.

    The most unusual and architectural yacht I’ve ever seen. Simply fascinating. But it appears it doesn’t handle even small swells with much stability. Think it needs more length to handle her beam.

      Yeah... I think it would be a lot cooler if it aimed at being a bigger Rapido 60. Or a bigger version of a Dragonfly 40. I honestly think the Dragonfly has better lines than the Rapido. But that would be a different boat entirely...
