As a Bulgarian I am proud of him, but he was so heavily criticized from our media because of the national team. The whole nation was expecting him to score at least 3 goals a match and carry alongside Martin Petron and Stiliyan Petrov. That was unfair. We treated him so badly. While ManU and Totenham's fans loved him more than his own nation. Well I am not sure about Totenham anymore, but ManU's fans loved him as far as I was seeing. He just had such a unique slow paced, intelligent look over the game. Kinda reminds me of Zidane. I remember talking to my father one day and he said: "There's something about him. He is always on the right place at the right time. Like the ball wants to go towards him so he can score". Viewing this clip just makes me confirm that and seeing the good comments just makes me proud that he was the last Bulgarian world class worthy player.

Many times he was called "lazy player" , but the truth is he just knew how to manage his energy and stamina.

One of the biggest mistakes of Sir Alex was to not play this man in the final of the Champions League (2010-11). He decided to choose players like Hernandez and Owen, over prime Berbatov. I am pretty sure that if the Bulgarian played that night, United could have had a bigger chance of winning it. The downfall of United started, when this man was thrown away for players like Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.

The man who made me fall in love with watching Manchetser Untied. The most elegant footballer I have ever seen. Effortless.

for some reason Berbatov and Rooney just seems so coordinated together. Both of them had little to no selfishness. Unlike most of the scoring title strikers, both of them are willing and happy to assistant others. Even with greats such as Messi or C Ronaldo, there is still moments you would say may be they should pass that. But with Berbatov and Rooney, its just seems they always making the right choice at the right moment.

Just look how many of his goals and assists came from balls in the air. Berbatov himself said the reason why he could do so well with balls in the air is because when he was a kid in Bulgaria they played on concrete, they had to adapt and be able to control high, bouncing balls.

Best thing about Berbatov was that he's always executed his movements exactly as the moment required. Nothing more, nothing less - and that's what made him a great striker.

Most of mu fans love him. I just feel the club should talk about him more / consider him as one their legends bcoz he is the first player to score a hattrick against liverpool after 64 years and the bicycle kick was pure genius .

Magician on the pitch. So unpredictable and clever with the ball at his feet. Absolute legend. He made me proud to be a Red Devils fan. Incredibly skillful and a talented player. Charisma and field influence/presence unreal. Football was epic and beautiful in this era unlike today unfortunately. It's all about greed now. It's not the same as it used to be. Most badass, stylish and masterclass footballer ever.

In my early years what made me watch football and become a Manchester United fan was Berbatov. By that time he had moved on to United and my dad watched every game he played. His insight into the game and his incredible first touch impressed me every time. And since then, for over 10 years, I have continued to support my beloved team even though we are not as strong anymore
