This performance could make the toughest metalhead get emotional.
I wonder if the audience recognises how fortunate they were to witness history. Amazing performance.
no they dopt know that dikface
Iommi is the guitarist guitarist. The greatest.
also known to be the first METAL guitarist
yep
Tony has that, what so many guitarist missing...originality!!!
I think what Geezer Butler does for the sound of a piece like this is very much understated. Obviously Iommi and Dio are the stars at the front (and their amazingness cannot be praised enough), but I've always thought Butler adds such a beautiful undercurrent in all of Sabbath's best stuff. Sometimes I love just concentrating on his part at any one moment, because it never ceases to surprise me what cool little bits he's doing while no one notices.
Bro what are you talking about geeze is like one of the top ten bassist lol
Yes if feel the same man!
You're absolutely right, Brother! Sabbath would not be the Sabbath we know and love with anyone else playing bass!
I 100% agree, I saddened to say I just started watching Geezer and he’s hauling ass. Both hands and fingers are flailing in the best way. 1974 California Jam on TH-cam is where I couldn’t get enough of Geezers contribution.
Geezer Butler and Chris Squire
Both made there respective bands sound awsome
When Iommi really got rolling, it felt like vintage Sabbath.
This song bring a tear to my eye... ROCK in peace, master Dio!
Nelson Kurose Junior Dio was an amazing musician even when he was still very ill with his cancer his vocals were still amazing and better than most musicians a lot younger than him
THIS IS FUCKING DAM SABBATH AWESOMEEEEEE!!! I AM 59 yrs old now, I STILL LOVE ALL THIS METAL LIVE!!!.. THANK YOU EVERONE ON THE PLANET FOR DOWNLOADS N TH-cam FOR VIDEOS!!!
perhaps the best guitar solo of all time
what Iommi has done with this song and the solo is the pinnacle of what guitar is. Truly amazing.
Tony Iommi- the single most powerful guitar in all of music in both tone and style. Add him with one of the greatest voices in all of popular music in Ronnie James Dio, and you have an unbeatable combination! This concert is pure metal magic!
Damn lucky people witnessed this concert. There will never be one like it.
Ronnie passed away in 2010, May 16. This concert was 2009. Rest In Peace ❤️
Ten years ago I was roughly a freshmen in college and my music listening was getting a little stale. I had been listening to hard rock/heavy metal music for roughly 7 years.
Was wondering what that next step in my musical direction I would take so I decided to go back into the past and listen to the classics. Dive a little deeper than I initially did.
Got really into Black Sabbath, but what caught my ears the most from all Sabbath records was the 1980s classic album "Heaven and Hell"
Ozzie left the band in 79, who could replace this iconic singer?
Well, I'll tell you what, get one of those strongest voices in heavy metal history EVER! The man who MADE the METAL HORNS famous \m/ Mr. Ronnie James Dio.
With his powerful voice, iconic massive stage presence, and fantastical lyrics, he brought the loud tantalizing sound, the energy, the mystery, the mysticism, and the magic which made me appreciate the power that heavy metal can have.
Sadly, as soon as I was discovering this treasure trove of music and Dio's work with Tony Iommi, Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer in May of 2010.
So to quote some songs:
"Long live rock and roll"
"The world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams, its heaven and hell."
Many good memories of my youth locked up and caged in his music, full of nostalgia, and a fading past. Take a ride with me and listen, create your own experience.
Will always remember Ronnie James Dio. \m/
all rockers of all ages need to have a copy of heaven&hell
Im speachless ! What a brilliant performance !
Iommi’s unique sound and original playing. No guitar shredding shit !
For me it's the drumming that Nails this song
RIP Ronnie.........a very ,very, strong man to tour with such an illness, his memory will live on with us FOREVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Required listening for any aspiring rock and roll musician.
I am 70 now and been into music since I was a kid and heard Elvis. There is nothing in all my years that can outdo this song and this band. Damn I wish Ronnie was still here.
Grande Iommi

WHAT AN UNBELIEVABLE PERFORMANCE!!
Dio was such a noble man
Como la juventud puede escuchar reguetón, esta música es pura energía y emoción hasta los huesos...grande el rock y Dio
dio is not a replacement for ozzy. he is the one who makes sabbath alive that is different from ozzy. a worth one.
He said Come with Me... and I'll give You... DESIRE!!!!
Iommi ROCKS and Ronnie we miss you, rest in Peace... \m/
love when guitarists do the entended solos. My favourite at the moment is between this or the live version of mistreated by Ritchie Blackmoore with rainbow.
RIP Ronnie James Dio
I saw them live in Edmonton,Alberta,Canada at the Coliseum in 1982. They sound even better in 2009. They are one of the greatest bands in history.
3:00-3:20, sounds a bit like the We Will Rock You solo, but taken to the next level. Dio during this concert was amazing. Iommi lays down amazing bluesy type riffs, Butler and Appice are solid.
Another royal kick in the fucking ass performance by Toni and Ronnie and crew.
That bass... fck
That tone is INSANE!!!
Toni has had that very same guitar since the 70's
That SG is priceless.
Pure electrical surgery. The man behind a power that comes from principles of a legion . A band of teachers . Add Mr. Ronald and you have The Only Church we ever really want to . . .Desire. . .Thank you Tony!
Truly MAGIC. .

Such a great chaotic voice!! Miss him !!
We have lost one of the pioneers of our lifestyle. Metal will mourn his passing for quite a while. This is probably the best piece I've ever seen from "Sabbath". Ronnie's voice was outstanding. I can't believe he is gone. Your legacy lives on forever Ronnie, I hope you find peace wherever you are. RIP
beautiful

3:06 is a badass riff!
loved this rendition but kind awished they played the fast bit at the end
he's 67 years old here, how is that possible?!
More like 61 ?
Obra maestra
good lord, so good...
The only part that sucks with this, is that it ends!
Wow, jammed out like crazy, this really sounds like old school sabbath, I even heard teases of a couple old classic Sabbath songs in the jamming.
Maybe I'm in the minority, and on disrespect to Ozzy, or the original lineup, but I always thought Heaven and Hell was right up there with much of the earlier material. Different sound without Ozzy, but Dio had in some ways, a better voice. Of course Ozzy is Ozzy and without him, classic Sabbath would have never been what it was.
So actually, glad to have both. Of course, without Ozzy or Dio (or Geezer!), it is NOT Sabbath.
@Psaris4life
Right on brother, tony fuckin invented heavy metal.
7:13 diabolic guitar noise!!!
MrNetrushka love it! Hell yes!
