I am 16 years old. I remember hearing that Ronnie James Dio died. oh the guy that sang Rainbow in the dark? that sucks. then i dug deeper and found out all the amazing music that Ronnie made. rainbow. sabbath. dio solo. amazing stuff. although i never knew much about Ronnie when he was alive, i feel such a connection to his music and I miss him and wish I wouldve been able to see him live. All we could do is keep the memory alive. Ronnie is dead, but he will always live on
My god Tony is such a rare breed (no pun intended). He has such overly amazing skills, has lost his fingers, fought cancer and created metal and atop of all that he has no ego what so ever and is one of the nicest people. I have full respect for this man.
There are three metal front men that stand above the rest and they are Ronnie James Dio, Geoff Tate, and Bruce Dickerson. But that's just my very humble opinion.
i first saw ronnie on the mob rules tour so many years ago and was amazed by his voice and he never lost it ,miss him so much a true gent and entertainer so sad we lost him i'm sat here tears in my eyes just remembering this little man with a big voice, rip ronnie keep heaven rocking
Heaven and Hell (LIVE 2009 BONN) Heaven and Hell (Black Sabbath) 2009: Tony Iommi - Guitar Ronnie J. Dio - Vocals Vinny Appice - Drums Geezer Butler - Bass
Feel very privileged to have seen Ronnie and the boys on a surreal Sunday night in Adelaide SA at the Grand old Thebarton theatre..will never forget that show.
Has there ever been a better metal bassist than Geezer Butler. My god he is good.He has the sound of evil that no other bassist has ever been able to produce.
Way to forget the structure of the song, Ronnie/Tony. But played off like the masterful musicians they are. I'm just disappointed I never had the chance to see Ronnie perform in my lifetime. Saw Tony perform with Sabbath last year, and my god it was the best damn show I've ever witnessed in my 20 short years on this earth. And this video, an amazing performance by amazing musicians. We all act as if Ronnie is dead, but he lives on in us all. We all just gotta keep rockin'.
Ronnie, Tony and Geezer performing heaven and hell .... can it get more EPIC then this ? This is the epitomy of rock and roll. No one will ever top this.
Saw early sabbath gig with Dio....and towards the end of the heaven and hell named phase...utter respect....not fair really to compare dio with the ozz...both awesome..but in totally different ways...im just gunna celebrate Black Sabbath as a whole..and the enjoyment they gave to us all over the years...rock in peace RJD.
I saw Black Sabbath perform the Heaven and Hell album back in the early '80s shortly after its release. It was a "HELL" of a concert. R.I.P Ronnie James Dio.
Such a sad ,sad day .........we lost the greatest voice in Rock & Roll today, as time goes buy and you loose friends and family you can easily see how life truly is and how very easily it can be lost, RIP Ronnie....we will all meet in heaven one day !!!!!!!!!
Ten years ago I was roughly a freshmen in college and my music listening was getting a little stale. I had been listening to hard rock/heavy metal music for roughly 7 years. Was wondering what that next step in my musical direction I would take so I decided to go back into the past and listen to the classics. Dive a little deeper than I initially did. Got really into Black Sabbath, but what caught my ears the most from all Sabbath records was the 1980s classic album "Heaven and Hell" Ozzie left the band in 79, who could replace this iconic singer? Well, I'll tell you what, get one of those strongest voices in heavy metal history EVER! The man who MADE the METAL HORNS famous \m/ Mr. Ronnie James Dio. With his powerful voice, iconic massive stage presence, and fantastical lyrics, he brought the loud tantalizing sound, the energy, the mystery, the mysticism, and the magic which made me appreciate the power that heavy metal can have. Sadly, as soon as I was discovering this treasure trove of music and Dio's work with Tony Iommi, Ronnie James Dio died of stomach cancer in May of 2010. So to quote some songs: "Long live rock and roll" "The world is full of kings and queens who blind your eyes and steal your dreams, its heaven and hell." Many good memories of my youth locked up and caged in his music, full of nostalgia, and a fading past. Take a ride with me and listen, create your own experience. Will always remember Ronnie James Dio. \m/
@TheRokunana ........Did you realize this happened close to his death? He´d sung this song for almost 30 years and was allowed to change it "his" way. I don´t think he fucked up here, I think the whole Band did a very, very good job, one of my favorite (search for the complete version) RIP Ronnie!
That sucks bro. I was lucky enough to get to see Sabbath live in 2014 at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, and saw Ozzy solo twice in 2002 and 2003, at Copps Coliseum, and Air Canada respectively. Never got to see Ronnie or AC/DC play live though, unfortunately.
Ronnie was *always* THE REAL DEAL! Giving his ALL each and every time on a stage! Kicking ass over much younger vocalists. :) The Lads rocked it GOOD !!! And now the stage will forever have an empty spot, missing you Ronnie James.
Am very lucky - saw the original tour in '81 (2 nights at Hammersmith). Saw the Heaven & Hell tour in Newcastle many years later. Epic stuff & life is good.
an inspiration for soo many generations of rockers, the best singer ever as well as one of the finest song writers, he add His own stamp to all the bands he sang with, Black Sabbath is a different band with Ronnie on front, and to me the best Sabbath encarnation.
Un icono del Rock . Que su legado quedará para la posteridad a lo largo de los tiempos como uno de los mejores vocalistas de la historia del Rock ..Descanse en Paz RIP
That has to be the 1st time I've ever seen Ronnie make a mistake like that. You know what, it did'nt matter one bit they still rocked everyones face off!
My first "concert" was midnight movie Black Sabbath w/Dio. At 13 I didn't know Black Sabbath had changed singers but after that show and 9 concerts later Dio is/was/will ever be the singer who puts goose bumps on my arm when he sings. As vinnie appice said I never saw Dio have a bad show. cast390 sums up my thoughts exactly. \m/
gracias ronnie !! gracias por este legado tan grande...........gracias a ti dio miles de generaciones de metaleros cargaremos la bandera por ti...........perdurando tu legado por siempre........gracias dio !!

Poor little man refused salvation same as Lemmy and now he knows the terrible mistake he made.
albert johnson Salvation? You sound like a bible bashing clown....
Ronnie also had a DUUWAPP band in the 50's! Suit and tie's...
My god Tony is such a rare breed (no pun intended). He has such overly amazing skills, has lost his fingers, fought cancer and created metal and atop of all that he has no ego what so ever and is one of the nicest people. I have full respect for this man.

Best Singer of all times. Ronnie you will live for ever in our hearts 🤘🏻❤️
this might be the best version of Heaven & Hell I have heard.. and it's done when they are twice the age of a regular rock band. Awesome!
The Radio City Music Hall version is much better!
