Years ago, when i was working with Adobe customer support, a guy came on chat to resolve some issue regarding adobe products. At the end of the chat, out of the blue, he recommended this track to me. I don't know who you are but Thank you my brother! ❤
This song takes you on a journey.. A lot of Joe's songs do that. This live album is my favorite Joe Satriani Album. Every song is phenomenal. When someone asks me who my favorite singer is, I tell them: Joe Satriani. I know he isn't a "vocalist" but he sings incredibly with his six string.
I have been listening to this song since 15 years old, now i am 30! The feeling is exactly the same as it was back then! Joe, you are an amazing Artist! 🙏
Joe satriani...is blues man at heart...that's why his playing has so much purpose. .he takes melodies and makes them climb mountains....he knows when too burn it down. and when to make it sing and tell stories. That's why his songs don't need lyrics.and the average ear still enjoys his music. Joe is the man
There are alot of great guitarists on this planet, but this song is just one example of how the Satch is great at an entirely new level. Take a bow Mr. Satriani.....you deserve to be titled king of the electric guitar. Holy S#$t. This song gives me goosebumps and makes my eyes well up just like the title of the song. Totally unbelievable level of connection to his instrument. WOW!!! I have been a fan for a long time and will be for life! I am honored to have seen him live. It changed my life.
You stole the words from my mouth. I saw him live at the Hult Center in Eugene Oregon during the Surfing With The Alien tour and it forever changed me. Satch is without a doubt one of the very best guitarists in the world ever! His music needs no words. They are all spoken from his guitar. Unbelievable awesome musician. Fan for life here!
What a great comment. That's exactly it. Sure there are hundreds of guitarists who can play faster and play more difficult passages but Satriani is one of the few players who can turn these fast lines into art that transmits, transplants and transforms.
Joe is absolutely beyond incredible. This solo is top notch and one of the best live shreddings around. Nobody in the world sounds like that, and that's why Joe is one of the best in the world. I've loved him since I was a child. I'll never get tired of his albums and performances. It seems impossible for someone to be able to play like he does. His skills are just so otherworldly, he really could be an alien! 😂 Cheers Joe, you are the best!!!
Yeah, I was thinking that while listening, especially to the long ending, where he plays every note with purpose and focus, none of them just noise or as throwaways or indulgence.
Who needs singing when guitar does it so smoothly. Thank God for People who till this day plays solos on guitar and Being a Raw talent is something you dont see often these days. Great Job Joe.. keep it up
When I watch Joe play ...I am completely captivated, mesmerized by the unending story line he can not only create but to keep you distracted for the whole entire song....he is the essence of what keeps me coming back to play....even if its only me and my basement stage lol { for me } Joe Satriani 2023 still the Best !!!!

Fourth, you're comparing him to guitar players who are nothing at all like him. You might as well compare him to Chet Atkins, Lenny Breau, Tommy Emmanuel, Django Reinhardt, Mark Knopfler.... all truly great guitar players in their own individual ways, but so different artistically from each other that a blanket definition of "who's best" is impossible to ascertain. Every one of the above, I'm sure, Joe listens to and appreciates in his quest not to duplicate them, but to be the best player of his own style he can be. There's a reason professionals at that level stop caring about abstract measures of "who's best" and just enjoy each other's talents. "Better" and "worse" are amateurish evaluations of amateur-level players. From a certain perspective, people who can and do play exactly what the music they like calls for are all "perfect" musicians. That's true whether they're technically precise speed pickers like Malmsteen, blues benders with a limited lick repertoire but iconic timing and note placement like SRV and Clapton, flamboyant virtuosos who concentrate on the breadth of their trick bag like Satriani & Vai, or just working stiffs like Bruce Springsteen who bang the strings in time and in tune and drive a killer horn section, and for them that's what perfect is. Not sure if this was a troll comment or not, but I think Satriani's place in the guitar pantheon is no less secure for it.

Joe does not simply just play the guitar, his essence and energy flow through the guitar, which in turn comes out as beautiful awesome music! That is one of the reasons why he is one of the best guitarists to have ever lived!
This song , this version such a masterpiece. I listen to this song almost everyday. I'm in my hospital room with covid pneumonia listening to this to try to feel human again. Thanks Joe.
Just proves by watching this as to what levels an Artist can reach. Joe Satriani & his team did a fantaaaaastic job including the sound engineers. Awesome 👍

They create the magic carpet, which Satch-Master is flying on, bedazzling earth and sky with his unique, one of a kind musicality. So, hats off to the band as well!
This songs makes me cry, literally, i dont know what it is, is not sadness, but is so... intense, so... sh*t i don't know but is like from soul to soul, with a guitar in between. I've been listening to Satch since i was born, and will do until i die.
No one has the finger length, strength, dexterity, and Reach like my man Joe Zach. He has speed, soul, intelligence, drive, determination, timing Etc Etc These are just some of the key Eli.ments of guitar virtuosoism I mentioned. He's equipped with every tangeable skill set needed for any and all occasions.
This was my first time experiencing Satriani. I am a huge metalhead. 2-3 years ago this video popped out in my recommendation. I knew about Satriani and his influence because I play guitar. I got intrigued and clicked the video. As soon as into kicked in I got mesmerized. To this day I am still a huge Satriani fan. Never seen this much feel in live playing before.
Joe is the kind of guitar god that once in a while will write a timeless masterpiece... this song is one of them... his new record sounds promising too..
Always watch live vids on TH-cam, skip the vevo stuff, you get all the love guitar solos then, like slash or Brian Gilmour etc flexing for fun, trust me watch brudve Springsteen and Tom morello live, the ballad of something toad, it's sickness
I have listened to this version of Made of Tears many times and I consider it the best. All the guys played gorgeous on their musical instruments !!! 👂🎼❤️❤️❤️
I've been well aware of Joe Satriani over the years but never really sat and listened to his music long enough till now. I'm sorry for not taking notice sooner. He is an amazing guitar player.
Joe is both an inspiration and a discouragement. He inspired me to pick up the guitar; and discouraged me when I realized I can't even play like him...even just a bit. Donated my guitars to a band in our neighborhood sometime in the 90s. Still listening to Joe! Still the best.
Sorry to hear your story. We usually start from an inspiration, to end up with our own music, or just to amuse ourselves simply. It was a good gift the gtrs you gave, but I believe you shouldn't be discouraged and you should buy a new one
To my 18 and 28 years old this song was the peak part of my training ... (i do running) what a emotional theme... really nice come back, i have 31 now... its really amazing when the artist's songs impacts in the emotional life of a human for all his life... cheers my friends... we are alive, we can hear some good music
Everything on stage is so shiny and sparkly. The lighting rig, the bass players sparkly blue bass, joe's beautiful guitar, the drummers cymbals, and most importantly, Joe's magnificent bald head.
@Lesmond 45 amazing that you think I'm the touchy one when you"re running to the defense of Joe, against one of his biggest fans who was obviously joking. Grow up, move out of mommy's house, and learn to play guitar, I promise you you'll feel less need to cry down the internet at strangers joking comments.
i remember when this was 9m views around early 2020's. i discovered joe then and he saved me from a pretty depressing phase. glad he's getting recognition.
Similar story here. I've been playing guitar since 2000, but I occasionally have long periods where I lose interest for a while (anywhere from a few months to over a year), in which I don't play, practice, write songs, etc. I don't pick the guitar up at all and feel no desire. I feel "empty" inside, musically speaking. A few years ago, I began to listen to Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Paul Gilbert, and Buckethead obsessively. It quickly filled me with inspiration and I began playing the guitar again obsessively. Made me strive to be better and better too. Listening to the music of these guitar virtuosos, thinking: "I NEED to be able to play and write songs this good. It's a must."
I'm going to go out on a limb and say that this might go down as one of the most perfectly executed, technically savage display of exceptional guitar mastery in live music history. Satch takes his audience to another dimension in that solo; there is something very raw, very visceral and very touching about how he exhibits his command over his instrument. His solos are not mechanical runs of scales and licks; rather they are melodious, stirring and hauntingly memorable with every note being right where it should be. They have soul. It's easy to see that the guitar is an extension of his body - he's in perfect communion with his instrument and his craft. He's got to be one of the BEST, (if not THE BEST) guitarist to walk this planet. Thank you for the music, Mr. Satriani... You're a legend in every sense of the word.
So many people say things like "Satch is all technique, blah, blah, cold, blah blah - I very much agree with your comments. I would add (after having seen him a few times "in the old days") that this is certainly one of the best, if not the best, bands I've ever seen him with. Dave Larue is a phenomenal bass player, and he's adding a lot to the music in the songs from this show by throwing in some very subtle notes played in all the right places. Saw him with the Dregs. The drummer is killing it too. They're all in sync, and it makes for some of the musically best Satch listening. The song "Circles" from this show is my favorite.
One of the best guitars Joe has ever played. It has a damn good sound. Others are much brighter or he's playing with a different pickup. The piece of music is also one of the best composed.
Been following Satch for going on 30 years, bought most of his records, seen him in concert multiple times, somehow seems to improve with age...unreal.
Alex Stone. I agree if been follwing him the same lengh of time and he has gotten better with time I think he's the best in the world. theres more to being the best than Just shredding up and down the neck Joe's body of work is what puts him above everyone in my book
Flying in a Blue Dream hooked me. I felt like I was moving thru the Clouds, Just takes you to another place. I was in high school in 89 it just blew me away.
EPIC..............!
I admit sometimes i admire the bass more than the lead guitar, his supportive role is unbelievable
it's beautiful, it's not just Satch, the whole band equally make this is a masterpiece
Hear! Hear! All the band in it self is great! But I can't help to give the bass some extra kudos.
The bass player just kept the coolest groove going but yet stayed in the pocket ever so sweet..Off the hook guys..
He is in tune with it.

😅
This songs makes me cry, literally, i dont know what it is, is not sadness, but is so... intense, so... sh*t i don't know but is like from soul to soul, with a guitar in between. I've been listening to Satch since i was born, and will do until i die.
I know what you mean. This song doesn't make me cry, but anytime I listen to it I always get this heavy, strange feeling in my chest.
Buenísimo,,,, genial.!!!!
Joe is the kind of guitar god that once in a while will write a timeless masterpiece... this song is one of them... his new record sounds promising too..
Always watch live vids on TH-cam, skip the vevo stuff, you get all the love guitar solos then, like slash or Brian Gilmour etc flexing for fun, trust me watch brudve Springsteen and Tom morello live, the ballad of something toad, it's sickness
if you've never seen this much feel in a live performance you obviously haven't watched stevie ray Vaughan live.
You said it right. One doesn't "listen" to such pieces of work. They "experience" it❤️
Einer der besten Gitarristen unserer Zeit
Joe Is One Of The Best And Most Purest Guitarist In The Whole World.

What a truly immaculate work of art this performance is.
I could listen to this forever.Satriani is a guitar genius.
Joe Satriyani !! You have no idea how many times i’ve listened this masterpiece. That guitar is telling a next level story🥹❤️🌚 Love from Srilanka🇱🇰
I have listened to this version of Made of Tears many times and I consider it the best. All the guys played gorgeous on their musical instruments !!! 👂🎼❤️❤️❤️
One of the best guitarists of our century
Other than Jeff Beck
Les Paul created the electric guitar for Joe Satriani.
End of story
Which one, the 1900's, or the 2000's?
Virtuoso=bliss
he's taught some of the greats how to play , including mr. vai ,. joe satriani is the Ip man of the guitar industry
I've been well aware of Joe Satriani over the years but never really sat and listened to his music long enough till now. I'm sorry for not taking notice sooner. He is an amazing guitar player.
Incredible Playing,
Love from Bangladesh.
Joe is both an inspiration and a discouragement.
He inspired me to pick up the guitar; and discouraged me
when I realized I can't even play like him...even just a bit.
Donated my guitars to a band in our neighborhood
sometime in the 90s.
Still listening to Joe! Still the best.
Sorry to hear your story. We usually start from an inspiration, to end up with our own music, or just to amuse ourselves simply. It was a good gift the gtrs you gave, but I believe you shouldn't be discouraged and you should buy a new one
Planning to fill my home studio with guitars this year ❤
So nice
The tone is so perfect, i can't even describe my love for this song.
The whole Band was so into this song it turned out to be their best performance in my opinion!!!
:)
Absolutely epic
Sound Engineer make this this concert sound perfect and high quality.

yeah man, hell of a sound guy!
Indeed man.
Sound good on my xm3
These guys only usually get noticed when they screw up, glad to see one getting the recognition they deserve!
Shine on you bald diamond!
One of the smoothest cue ball comments I've seen, sparkly
@Lesmond 45 you can let me know when you're done polishing it.
@Lesmond 45 read it again, genius. I said after *you're* done polishing it. Since you're so fixated on my bell end, and all.
Joe Satriani = Therapy
Zidane&Puyol joint performance
Legends says that no one can make a guitar sound like that because what is really making that sound is Satriani himself
Jeff Campitelli hitting it hard on drums.
Locking that groove down nice and tight.
EX Drumer
That guitar must really love him. 🤣
🤷♂
I just started playing guitar at age 30, whenever I feel discouraged I put this on and I feel motivated again. So damn good.
Listening to the music of these guitar virtuosos, thinking:
"I NEED to be able to play and write songs this good. It's a must."
Really..? Guys like him make me want to sell all my guitars. 😄
Come on no pain no gain 5bux per guitar okay👍😎👍
@@DeadPixel1105 just jam on and record yr crappajooladiday at least the music(Ian's) you jam with is/are top Satriani says Jammin with...
wasnt he playing earlier ? He was teaching guitar first ..
Joe is just incredible, it truly grabs my mind . It’s mind blowing.
This is my favorite song of his I’ve heard and he absolutely kills this live. And damn that snare sounds good.
Tecnica, pulizia, gusto, suono, cuore... che altro aggiungere, il più grande chitarrista esistente!
hai ragione fratello
Everything from Joe is always melodic AF. Love to just sit back and enjoy the groves.
Satriani es un fenómeno musical pocas veces visto. Maestro de maestros.... Excelente.
My love for Joe will remain the same forever! Lots of love!
Love you...forever🥂
Can you imagine waking up in the morning knowing you can play this good?
what a dream ..
No
Can you imagine waking up in the morning knowing how hard you have to work to _stay_ this good?
Mike Hayden I know right! I would play all day nonstop, just because!! ✌️
no..
Along with Gary Moore but i absolutely agree with you. This is a performance like one in a trillion
In his style yes. SRV walking legend
agree totally. Candidate for runner up is Steve Lukather's performance in Wings of Time, Live in Poland
What he said ;)
Satriani is POWER
I can't get enough of this! Just a masterpiece that will do down in history! Satch is a Bad Boy!
One of the best guitars Joe has ever played. It has a damn good sound. Others are much brighter or he's playing with a different pickup. The piece of music is also one of the best composed.
It's really the amp and not so much the guitar or pickups. I think his new signature Marshal actually sounds better than this Peavey.
Joe is the whole package, not only is he fast and accurate but he is a great composer, his songs are perfectly written and they flow.
Flying in a Blue Dream hooked me. I felt like I was moving thru the Clouds, Just takes you to another place. I was in high school in 89 it just blew me away.
Satriani best of
Satriani?
Can't sleep! I need to listen to this for the 15th time. What an amazing musician man🎉
A great masterpiece by a master of our soul. Thanks Joe.
