Hi, sounds like they don't want you to know stuff. So you line up and they have 'got you', they don't want you to leave before you buy. Clarkson showing a lack of respect, to the huge fan base that love him. He just wants their money.
Excellent review Greeno. If I recall correctly the main menu wasn't available when Gary visited either. Perhaps they do a lot of 'maintenance '😂. I agree that it's absolutely disgraceful that they don't inform people until they've been queueing for an hour. Why would anyone go and queue for an hour for a sausage roll and scotch egg? Go to Greggs😊.
I enjoyed the review as always. I think your experience was shocking though and no knives! I see some folk are comparing it to Gary's review. You went on different days and had very different experiences. I don't understand that comparison at all! It's been a few weeks since Gary was there and I think for the main menu to still be missing and these maintenance issues still on going is now completely unacceptable! Well you've said it all really and as much as I enjoyed the video, I'm only sorry you had a bad experience. Me and hubby will probably give this place a miss if ever we venture out of scotland😂❤
indeed - Gary went opening weekend, and excused the start up problems - I went later and thought it was poor that nothing seemed to have been sorted, and that there was no communication either on social media or even on site to explain.
Hello. I saw Gary’s vid when it was aired. I thought it was a 1 off for no main menu, but obviously not. I think Gary was being diplomatic with his review. Thank you very much for your honesty. I did say that we would go there the next time we’re in England but now I’m not so sure. Thanks again for the vid. Just subscribed! Take care. Dave M.
Thanks for the kind words Dave. I would say keep an eye on the progress of the place - it's early days so maybe some of the problems will be ironed out over time, and as the hype dies down. If not, then there are a lot of other, non-celebrity owned pubs and restaurant which will welcome your custom!
I watched Gary get the same treatment, he was a lot more forgiving. I think, after watching your review, that you are right on the money. I don’t like to queue, who does? But to stand in line for an hour or so and then be told no lunch menu, just bar snacks, I would have been extremely savage! And I would have told them exactly where they could place their bar snacks. It is no wonder James May is banned, he has by all accounts, a very decent pub. He must be laughing his head off!
So glad you are being honest , tend to thibk other reveiwers are aware its Clarkson's Pub and dare not be so open as you, agree with your analysis entirely of the issues
As I live in NY,and have passed the days of traveling home to England,I am enjoying these reviews. As I worked in restaurants kitchens for a lot of my life,I know that communication with your customers is most important, there is no excuse for not putting on social media,at the front gate,or car park, and having a phone message telling their customers that they are unable to produce a full menu.So I think you are fully justified to be annoyed when you get to the head of the queue then learn you didn’t have much choice. You said the shawarma was good, but to be honest it didn’t look so good, the pita wasn’t a nice toasted color, and though you said you had vegetables, you couldn’t see them.I don’t mind if more than one reviewer eats at the same place as it gives more than one prospective.I always read the review before spending my hard earned money in a new to me restaurant.Keep going Mr Green,I think you are doing great.😊
Thanks so much for the kind words. I find it baffling that people are moaning about multiple reviewers turning up at a venue. If you go onto Tripadvisor or Google reviews, would you only read the first one and take that as your only frame of reference ha ha !!
Wow, truly disgraceful restaurant. I'm sorry that this happened, and you totally deserved better. Especially, because the price, canceled lunch menu, maintenance during service, and missing cutlery, were so outrageous. Thank you for sharing your genuine and thoughtful review. Very much appreciated. 👏🏽👏🏽✨️✨️
Excellent video Greeno, very honest review! 🎉Just we need to know, quite a few reviews of Clarkson‘s pub have been more complementary and gushing of Clarkson, but right so you weren’t having any of it if I was going to queue up for that amount of time to get a dodgy sausage roll I would not be happy either. I think it’s all overrated over hyped and overpriced! Lastly, advice to support your local farmer. I certainly won’t be going. Cheers.
Don't worry. Word soon gets around. Things will self regulate shortly. The fact that two people have been and both have had the same problem means that many more will have had the same issue. I agree with your position about being open with customers.
Greeno this place is overhyped. It doesn't help that it's half term. Simply too many people for the size of the pub. I've seen multiple reviews from here and the only actual food I've seen is when Clarkson is eating and drinking with mates like Tom Atkins. The hype needs to die down before I consider a visit.
Agreed on all counts - they're just not set up to deal with the volume of people, but refuse to acknowledge or communicate that, which is a real issue when people are travelling so far to get there.
Thanks for the honest review.... going there sounds like a frigging shambles ....let's go to a country pub to queue for an hour for a sausage roll ?..... NAH SOD THAT !!!!
Greeno Finally my friend someone that see's this place as it is (At the moment) Its ok opening a place if you have every thing sorted before hand, and lets face it Clarkson has the money to employ the best of the best. Firstly, if food is not available and there are waiting times, THIS MUST be placed on the web site, or on a sign as you go into the parking area. Re your first food experience, £6 for a scotch egg ? £6 for a sausage Roll i think not, unless there Mitchell star ratted. As for no knives, yes the kitchen was having maintenance problems, but a bowl of hot water would of sorted the knife problem out. As for things like no coffee, this guy is just cutting his nose off to spite his face, give the customer what the customer wants, even if you chose a Fair Trade brand. Re your cold bread small Shawarma, £14 GET OUT OF HERE, no way that's shocking, i don't care how it tasted. As for maintenance, im sorry but when your supplying a top celebrity, and have a two day window, you bend over backwards to sort it, and even work at night to do so. Also Clarkson's managers should of been on top of this and chasing the service company's 24/7 i would of, they lost thousands and thousands due to there poor management. Greeno i love your honest frank reviews, maybe they should put you in charge of The Farmers Dog. Chris.
Hey Greeno, 2 great guys giving reviews and the kitchen not fully open!! This one would be good if you could both go back when sorted and give a more full review as bar food is nothing compared? 🤗🤗👍👍
The quality of the sausage meat in the sausage roll was really good - but I think the problem is to cook that amount of sausage meat through means overcooking the pasty.
Won't make and serve his own ketchup , so covers everything in French mayonnaise ?🤔 Brioche buns and shawarma are of course British Mr. Greeno !! 👀🙈😁 Great review as always ! Look forward to your next review !
Yeah Gary had pretty much the same experience. Same as FRC. I wouldn’t be going myself because I live in Ireland but I’ll sum it up in one word… BRUTAL! Thanks for the review Greeno. 👍
Fair criticism, not treating customers with any regard. TBH I ain't got no time for no coffee and presumably no tea nonsense. That sausage roll and scotch egg was too much sausage meat for me. What a miserable looking plate that was, couldn't even be bothered to put a garnish. Red light!
If you get banned Greeno, then it will cause for our celebration since one visit to anything owned by the thin-skinned Clarkson would be one visit too many for me and who in their right mind would want to go back there with or without a ban ! And all for a morning-old scotch egg and a dry looking sausage roll ! As a pensioner, I just worked out my average food, beverage and clothing allowance is £11 a day, so imagine how pi$$ed off I would be if they were taking 4 days of my allowance and I would be without money for grub again for 4 days. Clarkson is a scoundrel. What you paid was more than you paid Miller & Carter (yesterday's video) for two excellently cooked 3-course meals !!!
The pricing etc. is not really my issue here - all of that info is online before visiting, so people can check that - but the lack of information provided about the very limited offering, either on social media or even on site is scandalous. I know of others that drove even further than I did and were hugely disappointed.
Thank you Greeno for the independent shout out. Its tough since covud running a small catering business a pub or restaurant. Clarkson has come kn and invested millions in his businesses which in reality are run by management companies. Those sausage rolls and scotch eggs will be outsourced to a factory. The lamb kebab was poor to say the least. Like you say visit the local owner operated pub or cafe or restaurant and have a loving cooked meal made by people grafting 80 hours a week. Great review BTW. Keep it local Greeno.
I am glad you enjoyed the review. If one good thing comes from the work Clarkson is doing with the pub, it may encourage others around the country to use and promote more local and seasonal product - that can only be a good thing.
Really objective review Greeno, best one I’ve seen on this place. It’s defo not worth a visit yet. Interestingly some friends went the day after you and the full menu was on, so it seems very inconsistent.
I wouldn't touch this place with a barge pole. I have heard so many complaints about this facility. The only positive is the farmers puppy. Their kebabs are awesome.
I've come over from Gary's channel. On balance I think you've nailed it squarely on the head. I certainly won't be making the journey just to say I've been there.
Excellent review. I can never understand why people are prepared to queue just because a TV personality owns it. If anyone famous owns anything I avoid it like the plague. You are quite right something should ay least be put on the website telling people that the main menu is not available.
After a 2,5 hour drive and a 1 hour queue I was hungry, wanted to get at least something... plus the review is of the experience on the day - if that's all I got then that's what I can show!
About the lack of information about the kitchen issues, I agree. Once queued for 45 minutes at a pub in Gower, only to be told when I got to the head of the queue to be told the kitchen was closed. I have never been back there.
First time seen your channel & mainly watch Gary Eats, but nice review And I totally agree, anything like that is I feel all a bit of a con in my opinion. Personally I’m not a Clarkson fan but I am not convinced by it all. If I’m being honest. Definitely be better places out there for far better price
Thanks, I appreciate the kind words. I agree - as things stand there are better places out there that would appreciate you going and spending a few quid, without the celebrity name attached !

Good review, have to say I would never go to anything he is associated with. Mediocre at best sausage meat is a cheap get out, and that looked plain boring, much better pub grub they could have done, and if the kitchen isn’t open then close down until it is. Thanks Greeno
A disappointing experience for you but I appreciate your honest review. You can only say how you found it. Seems like the pub needs to have a major rethink on how they organise things! It's not fair on people like you who travelled for several hours to sample the Clarkson fare!
Exactly - there were others who drove further than I did and actually left once they discovered after the lengthy queue it was sausage rolls and scotch eggs only
Well done Greeno. Honest and fearless : telling it as it is is not being outspoken, but really helpful. You won't care if you're banned! What about a review of dining at AFC Cherries? Hope they stuff Arsenal this week-end.
A victom of their own success . . I saw Garys review and thought by know they would of sorted it out . . . Even if the kitchen had a set menu would of been better than bar snacks no matter how nice they are . . . The Swarma/ Girros/ Kebab looked nice . . Till next time take care . Bye from NZ👋🇳🇿🍻
They close on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I thought going on Wednesday lunchtime would be a safe bet that they would have had a couple of days to get themselves set - sadly I was wrong!
They don't serve ketchup as the farms around aren't grown locally the chillies and garlic gloves are as are the eggs used to make the mayo I'd rather pay hight prices for locally sourced produce then go yo pubs that microwave everything
I totally agree hour wait for a sausage roll and then not to be told not selling a full menu cleaver marketing no way they don't want the trade but don't have the facilities to provide it. I'm definitely not going there till the hype karms down !!! Especially driving from somerset!! Great review as always big fan of this channel since coming across you and Gary's curry video 🤟🏻

Your name will be under Keir Starmers when he next pays a visit ,I agree they should have sorted any issues by now and there should be signage on the gates and car parks ,and he would go mad if it happened to him
agreed 100% !!
Brutal and scathingly honest.....Loving your work Buddy ! I'll stick with Spoons as I lack southern pretentions and posturings.
I dont think it was brutal - just calling it as I found it - disappointed for myself and all the other folk who travelled from far and wide to try it
I think even Spoons CEO Tim Gammon has learnt his lesson after supporting BREXIT and the Tories who shafted him good and proper forcing him to shut many of his pubs 😂
@@NickT6630- I like a 'spoons because I'm an ordinary old woman, unimpressed by celebrity in all of its egregious forms and the nearest 'Spoons to me is a good one, with a proper in house pizza oven that means decent pizza at sensible cost.
I didn't see the "Tim gammon" on the menu when I was last there, is that a bit similar to Spam, or do they give names to all of the pigs that end up on our plates? ;-)
@@jayeblagburn2056 If you have a Spoons you like going to then good 👍.. its the staff that make the venue a good place not the celebrity that you wont ever see that owns the brand.
Appreciate the honest review, mate. Tough to be honest sometimes.
I can only call it as I see it - understandable that they struggle with the numbers turning up, but the way they don't communicate the issues could well hurt them in the long run - i wonder how many folk that have been so far and seen the fairly shambolic start will be keen to return?
Hi, sounds like they don't want you to know stuff. So you line up and they have 'got you', they don't want you to leave before you buy.
Clarkson showing a lack of respect, to the huge fan base that love him.
He just wants their money.
It certainly felt that way.
I’ve not been and after seeing your review l won’t be anywhere near it! Very refreshing to get an honest review 👍 Thanks
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Your honesty is admirable but Clarkson will not give a flying toss about your review pure and simple. Think you knew what to expect.
I am sure he wouldn't care even in the unlikely event he saw the video 😂
Clarkson who?
Great honest vid. Some youtubers posted like you did and then quickly changed their thumbnail😮. Someone got to them? Hmmm
No clue, but nobody has got to me (in fairness the other guys are probably bigger channels with more impact than mine!)
Glad you enjoyed the review Gerwyn - and I completely agree with your assessment!
A spot on review!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for being so frank.
Can only call it is I find it - it's a shame for all the folk travelling from miles around.
Excellent review. I think Gary was being way too easy on Clarkson. You've gained a subscriber!
Thanks, welcome to the channel!!
Gary went just after it had opened and as a result was probably more forgiving of certain things than I was a couple of weeks later.
So glad you are being honest , tend to thibk other reveiwers are aware its Clarkson's Pub and dare not be so open as you, agree with your analysis entirely of the issues
Thanks, I appreciate that 🙂
As I live in NY,and have passed the days of traveling home to England,I am enjoying these reviews.
Glad you enjoyed the review more than I enjoyed the experience!
Finally a proper review of this. Completely agree.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the review!
Cheers.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I just called it as I found it :-)
Well said mate !!!
Thanks Jane
Thanks for the warning! 👍
Just calling it as I found it :-)
He couldn't give a toss about you it's his food is great and the food reviews are very good so I'm not bothering with yours .
Entirely up to you, just giving my opinion 🙂
Rude comment - you know what they say about not liking something.
Don't worry. Word soon gets around. Things will self regulate shortly.
The fact that two people have been and both have had the same problem means that many more will have had the same issue.
I agree with your position about being open with customers.
Even the Express have now published an article outlining the exact same issues… word will get around indeed
Great review Greeno 👏 👌 👍
Thanks!
Must admit gary was a bit miffed as well expensive for what !!! I wouldn't even go there! 😂you are both brilliant 👏!!
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated!
Great honest review- Thanks ✅
Thanks Gill, I appreciate it !
Thanks for the honest review.... going there sounds like a frigging shambles ....let's go to a country pub to queue for an hour for a sausage roll ?..... NAH SOD THAT !!!!
Exactly !!
Hello Greeno i just thought i would give it a go after watching Gary eats' when he introduced you. Thankyou for your honest review.🎉
Welcome to the channel! Glad you enjoyed the review!!
I'll pass on this place
yep, makes sense
Greeno
Finally my friend someone that see's this place as it is (At the moment)
Its ok opening a place if you have every thing sorted before hand, and lets face it Clarkson has the money to employ the best of the best.
Chris.
I have been a pub landlord in a former life - so maybe they should ha ha !!!
Frankly, it's a piss take.
Great review Russell 👏
Thanks, but who’s Russell?
@GreenoEats
Sorry,
Got my Wires crossed.👍
@@paulmccarthy7512 ha ha, no worries!
Hey Greeno, 2 great guys giving reviews and the kitchen not fully open!! This one would be good if you could both go back when sorted and give a more full review as bar food is nothing compared? 🤗🤗👍👍
I may go back in the spring when they have had time to learn the lessons of the early opening period!
@@GreenoEats Make it late spring in case they are still not sorted, ha ha
Hi Greeno, I totally agree with you. Well said and I hope Jeremy gets to see your video and wakes up.
ha ha - I very much doubt my video will be on his radar!
Main menu was unavailable when Gary visited also. Sausage Roll looks amazing. Add your name to the banned list.
The quality of the sausage meat in the sausage roll was really good - but I think the problem is to cook that amount of sausage meat through means overcooking the pasty.
Greeno should have added Gary's name to the Banned list heheheh
@@GreenoEatswith that sausage roll it should have half the meat but get two would cook/eat better
@@johngibson3837 absolutely, would be much better!
Won't make and serve his own ketchup , so covers everything in French mayonnaise ?🤔
Brioche buns and shawarma are of course British Mr. Greeno !! 👀🙈😁
Great review as always !
Look forward to your next review !
Thanks for the kind words! I don't get the ketchup thing at all myself, bonkers!
Yeah Gary had pretty much the same experience. Same as FRC. I wouldn’t be going myself because I live in Ireland but I’ll sum it up in one word… BRUTAL! Thanks for the review Greeno. 👍
Glad you enjoyed the review :-)
People are so gullible. Great honest review.
Thanks!
And the Clarkson grift goes on!
He'll have paid back the million quid he paid for the place in no time!
Fair criticism, not treating customers with any regard. TBH I ain't got no time for no coffee and presumably no tea nonsense. That sausage roll and scotch egg was too much sausage meat for me. What a miserable looking plate that was, couldn't even be bothered to put a garnish. Red light!
Thanks, I am glad you think it was a fair review under the circumstances!
A small salad garnish would elevate it a little bit.
@@catevanscuisine true, even a small little touch like that would be an improvement
@@GreenoEats it would indeed. They will learn and grow, just as we all keep learning.
Thank you for your review we will give it a miss until Jeremy gets a handle on things. Enjoy your weekend.
And I hope they do sort it, as it could be a shining example of places working with local producers to give something special to the customer
Really objective review Greeno, best one I’ve seen on this place. It’s defo not worth a visit yet. Interestingly some friends went the day after you and the full menu was on, so it seems very inconsistent.
I bet that was because it was a wet day and fewer people were coming....
I wouldn't touch this place with a barge pole. I have heard so many complaints about this facility. The only positive is the farmers puppy. Their kebabs are awesome.
The kebab was ok, just a paltry amount of meat and cold bread. Otherwise it was decent!
I've come over from Gary's channel. On balance I think you've nailed it squarely on the head. I certainly won't be making the journey just to say I've been there.
Thanks David - glad you appreciate the review!
Seems like it depends on FOMO to get people in. The British ingredient sounds like a bit of a gimmick. Should have stuck to Dunelm cafe. 😂
Ha ha - at least it wouldn't have been a 5 hour round trip!
Excellent review. I can never understand why people are prepared to queue just because a TV personality owns it. If anyone famous owns anything I avoid it like the plague. You are quite right something should ay least be put on the website telling people that the main menu is not available.
Thanks, glad we are in agreement :-)
A good honest review...should of took your custom to another local pub thou...
After a 2,5 hour drive and a 1 hour queue I was hungry, wanted to get at least something... plus the review is of the experience on the day - if that's all I got then that's what I can show!
Excellent review 👍
Thanks Steve!
About the lack of information about the kitchen issues, I agree. Once queued for 45 minutes at a pub in Gower, only to be told when I got to the head of the queue to be told the kitchen was closed. I have never been back there.
Don't blame you - customer service is the most important thing!
First time seen your channel & mainly watch Gary Eats, but nice review
And I totally agree, anything like that is I feel all a bit of a con in my opinion.
Hi Mr Greeno Sir, give yourself a clap on the back Greeno, for pointing out all the flaws. I understand your frustrations, well done talking about it all , your a nice lad Greeno , keep being you, take care 💚🇮🇪🍀
Thanks for the kind words - got to call it as I find it - I hope it gets better as it could become a beacon for other venues to do similar in supporting local farmers.
Celebrity hunters are just plain silly . I ve lost respect for you , driving for hours to eat at an inhospitable establishment , is silly . It’s common knowledge that this place is a joke . Owner and punters are laughable .
You are correct. It needs better organisation and attention to detail. People won't return if they feel ripped off and uncomfortable.
Quite - hurting his business in the long run for some short term gain

Good review, have to say I would never go to anything he is associated with. Mediocre at best sausage meat is a cheap get out, and that looked plain boring, much better pub grub they could have done, and if the kitchen isn’t open then close down until it is. Thanks Greeno
Glad you enjoyed the review :-)
A disappointing experience for you but I appreciate your honest review. You can only say how you found it. Seems like the pub needs to have a major rethink on how they organise things! It's not fair on people like you who travelled for several hours to sample the Clarkson fare!
Exactly - there were others who drove further than I did and actually left once they discovered after the lengthy queue it was sausage rolls and scotch eggs only
Agree........class as ever greeno

Well done Greeno. Honest and fearless : telling it as it is is not being outspoken, but really helpful. You won't care if you're banned! What about a review of dining at AFC Cherries? Hope they stuff Arsenal this week-end.
I just call it as it is - not being sensationalist... I just don't think it was very good !!
Arsenal - duly stuffed!
A victom of their own success . .
I saw Garys review and thought by know they would of sorted it out . . .

They close on Mondays and Tuesdays, so I thought going on Wednesday lunchtime would be a safe bet that they would have had a couple of days to get themselves set - sadly I was wrong!
@@GreenoEats I commented to Gary he was using some of your moves and tricks too . . 🤣👍🍻
They won't serve Tomato ketchup but will serve garlic mayo and chilli sauce on a tiny £14 Lamb Shwarma? what a strange place.
The coffee and ketchup thing I am sure is just a gimmick to appeal to the Daily Mail readers amongst his fan base....
They don't serve ketchup as the farms around aren't grown locally the chillies and garlic gloves are as are the eggs used to make the mayo I'd rather pay hight prices for locally sourced produce then go yo pubs that microwave everything
Overpriced hype… I won’t be going there for sure!
