Thanks for that, much appreciated! I know you won't be able to visit most of the places I showcase, but I remember eating at a Peruvian place in Orange County called Inca Mama, so maybe that's one for you 🙂
Please, next time you encounter something like the onion rings, ask for it to be taken off the bill. The only way those running the restaurant will change, is if it hurts their bottom line. If you show them the grease pool they shouldn’t challenge you.
I remember one of Gordon's episodes of kitchen nightmares, when he was served a towering burger such as shown at Harrods. At the time, the burger was too tall for Gordon to eat. I remember Gordon making a big deal of the burger being to tall to bite
As expected from Harrods, the restaurant is clearly a rip off tourist trap. The fact that Gordon Ramsay is happy to put his name to it, just shows that he doesn't care about putting out good, quality fare for his customers. What an absolute scam. Utterly shameful. Thank you for the honest review. I've just subscribed.
Welcome to the channel ! I agree, Gordon Ramsay is the ultimate celebrity chef - and this restaurant is much more about the celebrity part than the chef part!
How is Harrods a tourist trap? It's a luxury department store for well over 150 years, everyone who travels to London will know what income level it appeals to.
It's the most famous department in London where you can spend £35,000 on bed sheets and just coffee and a piece of cake will set you back 10+ quid... Yeah it's no surprise lol. Not being top quality is no surprise either because Harrods is bottom line top dollar no matter the quality levels.
Total rip off, typical London prices geared towards tourists. Gordon should feel ashamed of himself. When is a burger , fries, milkshake and Greasy onion rings worth £60 ???
Gordon is a multi multi multi millionaire. He don't give two fucks. Don't blame him! Blame the people with more money than sense who pay his exorbitant prices. Wouldn't you charge £60 for a burger if you knew punters were stupid enough to pay for it. It makes good business sense.
Gordon doesn’t care. I”ve seen his package frozen dinners at Walmart, that he would probably never eat, but anything for money, even if it means losing your reputation.
£25 for that burger is daylight robbery. I can get a similar, if not better, burger in my local pub for about £10! The fries are NOT worth anywhere near £9.50! The onion rings looked grim, if I saw they were coming out like that I wouldn't have ordered those even for about £2 let alone a tenner. And £12 for a milkshake is just beyond a joke!
I always wonder why when people visit corporate restaurants that are licensed by a celebrity whether it be a movie star or chef are then surprised that it's just a big ripoff with mostly shiat food. 🤣🤣
because they have too much money and want to show off and may also have have mental or inbreeding issues and have absolutely no sense of taste. The best burgers & fries are usually found at little Mum & Dad restaurants where you can feed a family of 4 with burgers, fries and rings, drinks + deserts for this price, not fancy but just really good tasty food.
Spot on with your review, this is the same reason why his restaurant failed in glasgow, i remember he had a fight outside with a customer who said the meat wasnt cooked correctly , i believe he was quoted as saying the people in the area werent accustomed to fine dining, it closed down eventually 👍
I saw another channel review a Ramsay restaurant in London airport and the review wasn’t great there either! Not sure I’ll visit Ramsay restaurant which is a shame as he’s one of my favourite chefs. But this is the problem with famous chefs, if there not there cooking it or managing the kitchen then the quality it’s potentially not gunna be the same. 😋
Gordon Ramsay is another chef that opens up a restaurant, gets into debt owing tons to small suppliers then shuts it down and opens another one somewhere else.
Just subscribed from my favourite G eats after your appearance there and well done for getting him to the edge of the Naga precipice and such a joy to see Gary hurle himself into the Heat Abyss.
hi Greeno, i am heading to London for the day and really wanted to try this burger, where else would you recommend me going if this isn't a great burger please mate?
Well, I'm glad you paid it and not me. A £1 cover charge! This is Harrods not G Ramsey. The burger is tall to give the impression of big. It should be wide. As for seasoning, salt and pepper should be on the table. Well, a lesson learned, the name Gordon Ramsey does not indicate quality food. The high price is probably a Harrods rip off.

Thanks for calling this out Greeno. Peoples hard earned money deserves to be spent on places who personally care about the quality of the food they serve to their customers.
It's strange - the restaurant itself looks really smart, and the serving staff very professional. And then they sell this rubbish at exorbitant prices. Surely the food should get the most focus... style over substance for sure
no disrespect at all..tbf ppl who have hard earned money aint gonna come here or similar places if they cant afford it tho? so many food reviewers/channels are starting to go to very similar places among themselves to the point of now some going to the same places, and they rarely differ in opinion. just my point of view tho.
@@steve-vx3lx You are right. Given the prices this dining experience is rarely accessible to most people on a regular basis and seen as a 'treat' and given the celebrity affiliation a sense of high value and expectation is created. When the quality of the food is as low as this it needs to be called out irrespective of how much you are able to afford it.
I found your channel when you were on Gary's video the other day. I really like his videos, so when he recommended your channel I checked it out. I'm glad I did. 😃
It rarely works out having a gourmet chef try and do non-gourmet foods. They just can't leave well enough alone and try to justify their prices with ingredients that don't belong. I went to Ramsay's restaurant in Los Angeles, 'The London', once and had the Chateaubriand. It was excellent! That's the kind of thing that Ramsay restaurants should stick to.
He has 110+ restaurants in 9 countries and 17 Michelin Stars. He doesn't need advice from a person that is so stupid that they make comments like, ''It rarely works out having a gourmet chef try and do non-gourmet foods.'' I cannot emphasize how stupid that comment actually is. Good luck.
Don’t know if you tried it but if you buy a medium vanilla milkshake and a shot of espresso from McDonalds, pour the espresso into the milkshake, give it a stir and it’s amazing. The only thing I ever get at McDonalds now.
@@GreenoEats oooh fab! Enjoy! Let us know how it is. Get a medium though, I find with a large vanilla milkshake and 1 shot of espresso, the coffee kind of gets lost. Unless you really need a pick me up and get a large and 2 shots! Needs must and all that! 👍🏼

Mate... I'm a geezer over here in Australia, and those prices for that stuff is just insane. Insane. Total rip-off, and I would love to hear what Ramsay's response would be. Anyhow, subscriber, sir. Loved this review.
Thanks for the honest review Greeno. I though Ramsay would be a rip off, they're all the same and Ramsay has the cheek to criticise other restaurants. About time he visited some of his overpriced crap food outlets and charged realistic prices.Hes a con man. Thanks Greeno , I won't be visiting any Ramsay establishments.
Saw you having a hot curry on Gary Eats so had to see this. Harrods or not, it's crazy. 65 pounds for a burger, medium fries, large onion rings , and a small shake. Even if it was good that'd be a rip off.
I see a lot of ppl criticize the price etc but as a treat for myself I don’t find the cost over excessive and you’re paying for the atmosphere as well as the food…location is excellent I’m sure the rent must be catastrophic so of course that has to be included in the cost as well.If I’m ever lucky enough to visit London again I’d be apt to try it😊
I get where you are coming from. However, my counterpoint to that would be there are a LOT of places you can eat in London much better and for half the price.
Ramsay's Rip-Off to be sure. "Take five onion rings and give them a bollocking in grease. Then take your f - burger, it doesn't need any f- seasoning but if you f- must f- put it on the f- tomato..." Hope you got something better to masticate upon, Greeno. Bar steward Ramsay took you for a winker there...

What About The Homeless Sat Freezing Outside In Winter And People Needing Hospital Treatment They Cant Afford £85.00 Burger £25.00 Burger What Do You Think Im Thinking ?
I certainly understand what you're getting at - two of the charities I support locally are a food bank and a hospital which provides outreach care to the sick and elderly, services which are becoming increasingly vital.
Wagyu burgers are INSULTING. Most of the time they’re not A5 wagyu just some knockoff “wagyu”, and wagyu isn’t a burger meat due to the high fat ratio, so it’s just a waste to use as a burger. Shame on Gordon for selling that 85 quid scam on his menu.
I do wonder how much Wagyu goes into that patty mix - and as you say, why would a chef want to waste that quality of meat by mincing it and putting in a burger!
Ummm hey smartass. Just an FYI, Einstein... Gordon's burgers are made with A5 from Iwate, Kagoshima, and Tajima. By law, when selling A5 grade Wagyu at a restaurant, you must retain the certification that is sent with the beef. The certification includes the date of slaughter, the prefecture, the distributor, the actual farm, and the actual ID# of the individual cow. Gordon uses an 85/15 ground beef that is made from the trimmings tallow, and unsold portions of A5 Wagyu at the end of the night service, which are collected from his restaurants in the area, and transported to his restaurants that serve Wagyu burgers. You wombats don't get how this works. What a shame.
Dear me, those prices made me wince all the way across the pond. Those onion rings were a travesty, and I had the same thought as you about the size of the burger. Sorry you got stung by that kind of disappointment. I’m aggravated for you. Hope you have a wonderful weekend though!
In 2004 he launched the award-winning British series Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, in which he endeavoured to turn failing restaurants into profitable enterprises, and Hell's Kitchen, in which he took on the challenge of turning aspiring restaurateurs into quality chefs; the former ended in 2014 and the latter in 2009 Now Gordon Ramsay himself has been added to this list
As of the date this was typed, for us Yanks, 25 quid is equal to about $33 American and 85 quid is equal to about $113 American. I hope the waiter has the decency to give us reach around, too. BTW, Red Robin's tower of onion rings has more and look a hell of a lot better than that.
I am dubious about that menu. The "1849 Burger" states the beef is "Kobe". People get excited about seeing "Wagyu" but "Wagyu" is only the breed and whilst still very expensive, is not uncommon in a lot of places. Whereas "Kobe" is a place in Japan where a specific select few of "Wagyu" cattle are reared and so, "Kobe Wagyu" is ridiculously expensive; prohibited so for most people. This menu states it is "A5" which is the highest grade. So honestly, I am sat here asking why is it so cheap at only £85 and why waste such a delicacy on a burger!?! I think the menu writer has been a little "creative" on that one. At best I would say that "1849 Burger" contains less than 10% "Kobe A5" but just enough to plagiarize the description. I know you did not have the "1849 Burger", so I shall park that there. Sorry to state the obvious, but the reasoning behind the price is not just the food itself. You are paying for the name and the atmosphere/ambience. But having said that, this is nowhere near the likes of a 3 Michelin Star restaurant. So, when all said and done, overall, from how you described everything, no I do not think that was worth the money; not even close. You should try Plane Food by Gordan Ramsey at Heathrow Terminal 5, it is an absolute shocker of a place, so no, do not try it! 🤣
Plane Food, isn't that the place our pal Gary went? I remember he gave something like that a real slating. You may be right about that A% beef description. With the amount of marbling in good wagyu I would expect that would make a burger quite unpalatable, irrecspective of whether mincing it is the best way to use that quality of meat. I know it's a price partly based on the name and location, but you still have to justify that with good food, and sadly this place just doesn't!
Remember there are many wealthy people shop in Harrods were £65 for a burger meal is an irrelevant amount of money and they won’t even miss it coming out of their bank balance.
New subscriber here! I fancied a laugh this afternoon and I certainly got one watching this video! I love the Harrods food hall where they have all the lovely, handmade little bits and bobs and we always have a treat and buy something from there when we have a trip to London. But over £60 for a burger and the usual accompaniments is utterly ridiculous and totally unjustifiable. You'd not even get charged that in a top-notch place with 100% organic produce. Oh, and I could have done an omelette in the oil that had dripped off those onion rings! 🤢🤢
There was so much oil dripping from the onion rings that I half expected to find a distressed sea bird in it!! Glad you enjoyed the video. There are a couple of other places I want to try in the high end department stores in London, so look out for them in the coming weeks and months 🙂
Why do you pay the service charge; what do they expect you to do make your own meal and serve yourself? Explain that there was nothing wrong with the service, but that you don't agree with the service charge, then optionally leave or not leave a tip!
Well it was packed by the time I left (I was the second customer into the restaurant as it opened). Lots of tourists looking for something to put in their Facebook or Instagram!!
Blows my mind that anyone would pay those prices. In N Z dollars it's around $130. I could feed myself for 2 weeks on that and make my own homemade burger for about $3...which looks better than that one.
Thanks for the informative review. Gordon has spread his brand so thin it's now become virtually worthless. Only a matter of time until another of his restaurants go bust! Thanks mate... Looking forward to your next one😊
@@Bill32H-it3sv But this is the thing, I knew the price before I went in. But I didn't know if the quality would match the price until I went in and tried it. And discovered it didn't.
Ten years ago I ate at the Gordon Ramsey burger restaurant in Las Vegas. 3 burgers, 1 coke, 1 beer $100. Nothing fancy, just normal/average menu items. Took an hour to get the food on a non crowded afternoon. When the burgers arrived, all three were wrong. I told the waiter and he was just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ oops. No fks given. We didn’t want to wait another hour for new burgers, so we just ate what was given to us. The burgers were good, maybe 6.5 out of 10. I was so excited to eat there and was super disappointed
You just got taken to the cleaners mate, The best burger I ever had was one I made at home. The local butcher ground 28 day aged chuck with bacon. The bacon added tons of flavour and provided lots of fat so the burger was juicy. I cooked it on the grill and used a thermometer to ensure it was not overcooked. I used a brioche bun and had caramelized "sweet onions" as a topping. The sauce was a mixture of high quality mayonnaise and chipotle in adobo sauce. All said and done, the burger cost me about $6,00 Canadian and it was fantastic. I also had delicious oven fries. I hand cut the potatoes and mixed them with a light coating of olive oil, garlic powder, chili powder, and cayenne powder. I baked them on parchment paper at about 400 degrees F. The secret to good home fries is to bake them on parchment paper so they don't stick to the sheet pan. You can easily turn them over part way through the cooking. Up yours Gordon Ramsay. I have learned long ago that you are much better off buying quality ingredients and preparing your food at home.
@@GreenoEats It was delicious I must say. Whenever you go to a restaurant with a celebrity chef's name on it, that's a clue the food will never live up to the name on the door.
The basic problem is this: People like you are not supposed to be there. The prices are designed to keep you out. Supply (actually space and demand). I don't bat an eyelid at a $100 meal, it all depends what I feel like, sometimes it's fish and chips (I will pay maybe 20 pound) and sometimes its filet mignon with mushroom sauce. If you want a very good burger, which I have had, go to Planet Hollywood. Excellent.
Keep people like me out, what are you trying to say ha ha 🤣🤣🤣 It's funny, I think however much money I had I would always want to feel the food I received was worth the price paid.
@idanceforpennies281 - YES! When he said that he got a Wagyu burger for $1, I instantly knew he is not qualified to even have an opinion on the matter. The current cost for 1 LB of A5 Wagyu 85/15 ground beef is $155.00. If he doesn't even understand that the term Wagyu only means that it's from a Japanese cow. It is graded A5 and Pureblood Wagyu that we (chefs) are referring to when we say "Wagyu''. It's painful to watch ignorant slobs that don't know their ass from their head.
Hello Greeno I personally would have asked for the onion rings to be taken off the bill. These places in London are one hit wonder tourist traps unfortunately.

I don't understand why they make these tall burger towers! You see people dismantling them or eating them with a knife and fork. To me, that is defeating the whole object of having a burger. You can clearly see the grease on the onion rings. The lighting picks it up. Burgers always turn into a soggy mess unless they are made up and eaten within two minutes. I guess it's only a place for tourists, so when they get home they can tell all their friends they went to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant! Definitely a rip off.
Thanks for this. Finally ramsay gets what he deserved. I always knew that his restaurants were too expensive and his food was also greasy. I never liked him anyway.
I'd like to see Gordon doing a blind (not literally) taste test of his food, not knowing which dish was from his establishment. Looks like you're paying for name recognition, presentation, and location.
Gordon just doesn’t “get” burgers… A burger isn’t a freaking filet mignon. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. But it DOES need to be juicy, tasty, hot, deeply satisfying, CHEAP, and flavorful. If someone is paying $25 for a freaking BURGER, then I would think it would be a SERIOUS BURGER!!! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
Gordon doesn't get burgers... yet he has 17 Michelin Stars, 117 restaurants in 9 countries, a net worth of $600 million and a market asset value of $1.4 BILLION. He makes over 1.15 million dollars a day now, and 8% of that revenue is from burgers, as of QE 2 / 2024. Right.

How is Harrods a tourist trap? It's a luxury department store for well over 150 years, everyone who travels to London will know what income level it appeals to.
I agree, but the reality is...do you want to make 750k or 1.5m a year?
From a business point a view there is sadly, only one answer I guess,
It's the most famous department in London where you can spend £35,000 on bed sheets and just coffee and a piece of cake will set you back 10+ quid...

The answer is never, but it looks good on your Facebook or Instagram if you're on holiday right.....
Gordon is a multi multi multi millionaire. He don't give two fucks. Don't blame him! Blame the people with more money than sense who pay his exorbitant prices. Wouldn't you charge £60 for a burger if you knew punters were stupid enough to pay for it. It makes good business sense.

The fries are NOT worth anywhere near £9.50!
The onion rings looked grim, if I saw they were coming out like that I wouldn't have ordered those even for about £2 let alone a tenner.

I always wonder why when people visit corporate restaurants that are licensed by a celebrity whether it be a movie star or chef are then surprised that it's just a big ripoff with mostly shiat food. 🤣🤣
I knew it would be expensive, just expected something that actually half justified the price tag!
because they have too much money and want to show off and may also have have mental or inbreeding issues and have absolutely no sense of taste. The best burgers & fries are usually found at little Mum & Dad restaurants where you can feed a family of 4 with burgers, fries and rings, drinks + deserts for this price, not fancy but just really good tasty food.
I just can't believe anyone charges 72 quid for a burger. Diabolical
Bonkers isn't it
Spot on with your review, this is the same reason why his restaurant failed in glasgow, i remember he had a fight outside with a customer who said the meat wasnt cooked correctly , i believe he was quoted as saying the people in the area werent accustomed to fine dining, it closed down eventually 👍
At the end of the day you have to keep a steady stream of punters coming through the door....
It's absurd to pay that.

I saw another channel review a Ramsay restaurant in London airport and the review wasn’t great there either! Not sure I’ll visit Ramsay restaurant which is a shame as he’s one of my favourite chefs. Gordon Ramsay is another chef that opens up a restaurant, gets into debt owing tons to small suppliers then shuts it down and opens another one somewhere else.
I think most of the top chefs have done that at some time or other!

Tall burgers. Photograph well, but you can't eat the thing! Anyway, I won't let the experience ruin my weekend - I wish you a good one too !
In 2004 he launched the award-winning British series Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares, in which he endeavoured to turn failing restaurants into profitable enterprises, and Hell's Kitchen, in which he took on the challenge of turning aspiring restaurateurs into quality chefs; the former ended in 2014 and the latter in 2009
Now Gordon Ramsay himself has been added to this list
He would have a field day with this place on his Kitchen Nightmares show!
@@GreenoEats sure.
As of the date this was typed, for us Yanks, 25 quid is equal to about $33 American and 85 quid is equal to about $113 American. I hope the waiter has the decency to give us reach around, too. BTW, Red Robin's tower of onion rings has more and look a hell of a lot better than that.
Haha, the service was good, but not THAT good 🤣
I am dubious about that menu.
@@davidgriffiths3713 Absolutely, no question about it. But just because there are people who can afford it, that does not mean it is "worth it" 😃

@@bigblockpop indeed!

Yep, more fool me!

Yikes. 12 dollar shake reminds me of Pulp Fiction.
Ha ha, yes!
The USA are contemplating invading those onion rings...
Ha ha ha - that's brilliant !!
*$120 CANADIAN for garbage.. that is about 2 weeks groceries for me.*
Crazy isn’t it!
Gordon just doesn’t “get” burgers…
A burger isn’t a freaking filet mignon. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️. But it DOES need to be juicy, tasty, hot, deeply satisfying, CHEAP, and flavorful. If someone is paying $25 for a freaking BURGER, then I would think it would be a SERIOUS BURGER!!! 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
I think you're right!
Right.
@@NatPat-yj2or You are just as capable as I am of finding chefs who are better than Gordon-burgers or no burgers/something else…. 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@NatPat-yj2or I shouldn’t have to find them for you and post them like you are some freaking imbecile. (Right???)
@@NatPat-yj2or doesn’t make them good burgers though unfortunately

As a kitchen professional I am sure that you understand the value of seasoning food - pass it on to Gordon if you ever see him :-) Thanks for the kind words about the video!
Ramsay’s input into the restaurant is probably zilch. He doesn’t care what is served as long as he gets his cut.
