    Beautiful combination of science, music and art. It makes astronomy accessible, without sacrificing any rigor. Recommended for students and professionals of any age.

    So wonderful! I remember the car radios very well! Simple but so wonderful! Gives me that magical feeling a child feels about the 'newness' of the world around them. Thank you for posting! It is a very educational and fun video!

    When I was about 10 years old I was walking up east 14th street in lower Manhattan. The sun was shining,then it got dark. My first solar eclipse. I have been fascinated with the sky, space since then. This was in the early 1960's.

    Timothy Ferris is awesome! He makes astronomy seem poetic!

      His prose, method, approach, rhythm and tempo, alliteration and turns of phrase even his tone of voice... yes truly a poetic experience.
      Imagine first viewing this as I did... awaking on the couch at 2 am having left the tv on, laying in the dark in a silent house as this wonderful expression of his amazement came through washing over me.

    i've seen awesome stars at Chaco Canyon, New Mwxico. but most awesome stars i've evr seen was over Chesapeake Bay, at a campground. incredible. i have not been out on the ocean other than 25 miles to Catalina island. i understand out on the ocean isthe best.

    • @hawkrider88
      @hawkrider88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can understand how out in the ocean would offer some great skies and viewing. But wouldn't even gentle waves cause movement of the ship that would make it difficult for good viewing through a scope?

    Timothy Ferris talks about his experiences with astronomy and because he was born in 1944, he is someone I can relate to. His film focuses on amateur stargazers and their telescopes. Ferris explores the life of E.E. Barnard, a Nashville-born astronomer who photographed the Milky Way. The Horsehead Nebula convinced Barnard that the dark regions of the Milky Way were gas and dust. Ferris talks about exoplanets.

      Prove what?
      That the grand design of everything is by accident?
      That the very you (Human) whos a perfect creation exist by natural selection??
      The eco system, Oxygen levels, air pressure, i mean we live in an environment perfectly made for us.
      I don understand why u need prove when its everywhere
      from small insect to tree leafs to clouds
      Everything is out there man, you just have to observe with open mind

    • @richpack5927
      @richpack5927 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Khawar Malik there is no grand design, and no gods exist. You have no proof. It's irrational and illogical to believe things that you can't prove are real.
