  • In this video I will show you how I take horseshoe links and link them together with small copper washers. I used to make these with jump rings but I thought it would be fun with washers. Washers are thicker so it makes it more difficult to link them together but they are fun!

Hi from Australia. I often have trouble staying still and focusing on videos. So I fiddle with a paper clip. Watching your project today I suddenly thought maybe you could use silver washers and the large part of a paper clip to make the horeshoes. I do love the copper colour better though.

Superb design, very artistic, I love it! 💖💝 Sometimes copper on copper is so elegant. I need copper earrings, so definitely making these for myself. Subscribed.
Is there any reason why we cannot use bare copper for ear wires? Are they harmful?
I found a TH-cam video where you can easily copper plate another metal. Nice to do matching ear wires in copper.
By the way, the earrings have a small flaw, can anyone spot this? Washer #2 is placed differently on each earring. One is on top of Washer #1, the other is under it. Good to be aware of this possibility when making them. I think both styles look nice!

I just hear so many people who can’t even wear copper cuz their skin reacts. I’m fine with it! Lol
I never noticed the flaw! Lol.
      Good eye! 👁 💜

@@ZurickDesigns Here is a govt website that talks about metal allergies and possible causes: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3369403/
If anyone has a copper, nickel, zinc, or other metal allergy, visit this site, and read the chapter on 'your' metal issue. Reading the whole article helps a lot. In general, your allergies can be caused by too much exposure to those metals earlier on or continuing thru dental fillings, peanut butter, eating certain foods, or chemical exposure (careful jewelers!). Very helpful to know this. Whenever we have an outward symptom, look deeper internally and find the cause. Then you resolve the issue. Its not about allergies to ear wires or such, but may signal why your body is reacting and how to fix it overall so you don't have a problem elsewhere.
I find a simple lacquer dip or spray of jewelry if you are allergic, solves the contact sensitivity issue. Dip the metals, not the stones.

I love making copper washer jewelry, but if you don’t want to oxidize them & leave them natural, what do you do to keep them from smelling like metal? Thanks 🙏🏽 Dolores

Try some mild soap and water with a toothbrush. I noticed this too and it seemed to help. ☺️💜

Spray them with a clear coat lacquer that seals it. No oxidization, no smell.
