Great video bro. I have been on a “Retro Appreciation Journey” this past year. I get half her argument about retro fans being stonewall with their opinions and not moving past 1990. But she is missing out on some older games that can give her a deeper appreciation of the newer games she likes. She needs to play Zelda 2.
👏 Bravo 👏 All metrics start with an origin point. Without them there is no scale … no line of improvement or degradation. This seems to be a problem across the entire scope of fandoms. What is Good? is a subjective observation from a specific perspective in time. Knowing what came before becomes a requirement. Further: Aren’t there several NEW incarnations of the side scrollers? New pixel art games? Up-Rezzed classics? Re-Scored? Re-Imagined? Re-Dubbed? 🗣️ REEEEEEEEEEEEEEE 🙉 Good Grief
Well I miss the premiere, probably for the best cuz I don't like this video. I am not saying I agree with her because frankly I agree more with you, but you know I am a nitpicker and this video is arguing against what is basically a strawman. It really a bad place to start a discussion off with. Even if I don't agree with the girl. I'll like to at least try to understand why people spout out such things. Even if what she said comes from a place of ignorance and indifferent doesn't mean you shouldn't try to understand where those feeling are coming from. Because they are rooted in her (and others who'll makes such an argument) experience in the medium while she assumes that the retro gamers views retro games the same way she views modern games and she might even be correct for some other there that does do that, but there are others who accept that 'conditions' for older games where made differently with different aim given the technology and trends at the time. Tired so probably might edit tomorrow after some sleep, but the point is that to have a 'discussion' you need to understand what the other person is trying to say even if they don't have the skills to communcate that properly. That's just some of my thoughts on the matter.
@@FlaccidPhoenix Thax you Flaccid for this good example of what I am talking about. The "you must be dumb or high" because "I don't understand what you are trying to say" is something funny to say in response to someone, but will it help the other side understand what you are trying to say... Probably not. Her video is practicely the same thing as your comment. It is not a great place to start a 'discussion' about video games between two different groups of people who like to talk pass each other.

you should just remove the game audio next time. It was distracting having music over it.
Your music taste needs to be questioned at length
