Awesome tutorial, I am a cabinet builder I decided to upgrade my kitchen , never plumbed a dishwasher or garbage disposal, spent the time drinking coffee and waking up to your presentation, the misses and I hit the hardware store, I do a little shopping go home to a wall with,, water in , and water out, couple hrs later I have a dishwasher, garbage dispose all, hot and cold water and everything works!!!, and even better, an amazed better half lmao!!!! Very, very good sir! My first dishwasher install required removing a kitchen cabinet as the new house was not built for one. After 30 years, it quit, so now I have to replace it. In the original installation, I used 3/8" soft copper line from the basement up through the kitchen floor. This time, I will use the braided hose and make a different connection as you did in this video. Thank you very much!

This is truly excellent!! Well thought out and detailed from start to finish. At every point that a question was raised in my mind, you covered and dealt with it shortly after. Need to do this in a couple of days and this video has removed ANY doubts in my mind that I can do this myself.

Great video. I'll be replacing a $300 GE (glorified rinser) with a $900 KitchenAid. Should be rather simple but I appreciate the time you took explaining the leveling. Looks like patience pays off during that process! Thank you!
I want you to know that after putting in my dishwasher 4 years ago I noticed some dripping coming from the plastic threading 90 degree angle brass fitting with the gasket. Silly me years ago I used teflon tape and did not tighten it enough. I shut off the water, took off the connection, removed the tape and hooked it back up and this time i finished with channel locks. No drips, no nothing. It was thanks to your video that I was able to fix this small issue. Thank you so much.

All installed, and working great. One glitch, though: I did the first test run not realizing the water was still turned off. I think I burned a baring, or something 'cuz of the smell! Fingers crossed that it keeps running as well as it currently is.
I like the video. I am a master electrician and really appreciate the fact that you explained the need for a traditional romex connector if the unit did not come with a snap in connector attached to a cord and plug like the one you have. VERY HELPFUL... my new upgraded dishwasher is fast, quiet, and powerful. BUT, It took me less time to install my dishwasher than watch your video. If you have ANY power tools, you could cut this video into one third of the time. BUT, Couldn't have done this with out you.
I found connecting the water line to the DW before sliding it in.

I'm a little late to the party lol but I recently built a house and we went with GE appliances. The plumber is throwing a fit with the rubber flaps that go in the gaps though. I was hoping you'd show how to install those and tuck them in in a little more detail so I could show the guy. The hole is cut to spec but the guy is saying there isn't enough room. Any help is greatly appreciated!

So far the best highly detailed Step by Step vid I'd seen. I'm adding a new dish washer in place where a clothes washer was. There's is a drain already in the back wall that the clothes washer was using. Can I use reuse this existing 2" drain for the dish washer instead of connecting it to the garbage disposal? I'm in Virginia and have no idea about the code here.

Also, thanks for mentioning the size of the tool being used as you go along. That is very helpful. I don't know what's up with some things being metric and others being SAE. It requires everyone to have two sets of tools and often not having the right one when you need it. Why can't the government just pick one style or the other and tell manufacturers to stick with it? It just seems pointless.....

Nice job. I have found it is far easier to do all the hookups before the final sliding in. Just route the lines tight towards the hole and push in the dishwasher a little pull the line and keep doing that until the DW is all the way in. Real quick and easy.
