The garbage disposal does not act as a vent as far as contaminated water back flow prevention. Your local code may require a vent/air gap which is superior to the high loop method used in this video.
@@toolrev Thanks for the video, unfortunately my state Washington requires a air gap. I really didn't want to add a hole in my new quartz for that but unless there a garbage disposal that has air gap for a dishwasher and wont back flow.
I really appreciate this video and the one on installing a garbage disposal with the drain pipe fittings. My family was pressuring me to spend money on a plumber to install just the faucets. Did that on my own and now I’m doing this on my own thanks to you!
Im buying my first house and getting ideas on my first projects and your disposal vid and this one are so simple and basic you could probably teach a monkey to do it thanks for making quality videos simplifying these installs
Thank you! I was watching to see what is typically used on the floor in front of the dishwasher...but this video doesn't show that. It's always the finishing touches that are neglected and those are one of the most important parts of projects!
I own a Bosch and so I'm compelled to share some special information about it, if yours is like mine, that is, one with a stainless steel interior. The way it dries the contents is by condensation. When the moist air in the dishwasher comes into contact with the COOLER stainless steel tub, it turns to water droplets and these flow down. To make this effective, it is far better to connect it to COLD water and let the dishwasher take care of heating the water when it needs to. During its last since, the interior is cooled by the cold water facilitating the condensation. If you use hot water, you are defeating this purpose and you will have much longer drying times. So not all dishwashers are the same in terms of installation. Please spread the word and make some people happy.
More power to you brother but cold water increases runtime according to Bosch. The only advice I endorse is following the manufacturer's installation instructions. See ya!
Do you need an air vent when installing a dishwasher? Or the garbage disposal acts like one?

👊
Thank you so much
so usefull ! thanks buddy
Thank you!!!
Whats the name for that fitting you use fot thr hot water ?
Very clear
Do dishwashers have a pump that pumps the water through the drain hose?
yes
If the drain hose isn't up high will it wreck the dishwasher?
Maybe not wreck it, but dirty water back-flow doesn't help it.
Don't all of the hoses require thread seal tape?
You can use it if you want to but it's not required or necessary for cloths and washer connections.
@@toolrev what's a cloth?
How about if you dont have a garbage disposal where do i connect the drain hose.???
