  • In tis video, I do a real side by side comparison of the stock 6 volt positive ground tail lights, and 6 volt positive ground LED lights. I compare the two in multiple light situations so that you can form a real educated decission.
When I am not making images for my normal (if there is such a thing) bodies of work as a photographer, I make plenty of fun videos for my Model A that you can find on this channel too. Be sure to check them out.
As to gear, I shoot a variety of full frame Nikon cameras and lenses. Most everything is shot on a tripod to produce the sharpest images possible.

My 1930 Ford Town Sedan has eyebrow fenders and still has the original interior. It's certainly worn but it still is functional. I have rebuilt the driveline, suspension, and tie rods, installed a modernized Model A motor with oversized intake valves, insert bearings, and a high compression head. I also have a lightened flywheel and V8 clutch. The car comfortably cruises at 50MPH but I've had it up to 60MPH. I have also insulated and installed sound deadener which has made the car enjoyable to be in even at 90 degrees.

Hei Ken, great video and a day and night difference! And that is tops for safety! Yes, I would suggest you to have the light operate independently, so it will be as the OEM , functionality of the us law. The EU law uses 2 bulbs one stop and running light and a separate for the turn signal, which is most of the time orange color or amber. Thanks for this footage!👍🏼🙏🤝

Hey Myron! Good to hear from you! I think I am really leaning to cutting the wire.

Cut the wire, and let them work independently. I feel it will make the brake light more prominent for those traveling behind you. Great video, and such a nice old vehicle.

I went back to bulbs. The LED's I had, the circuit board inside burned out. Taking out my turn signal switch also.
I did put a bright LED for a 3rd brake light in my 32.
    Yes, cut the wire.

Hi and welcome to the channel. I thought about the third brake light as a possibility. Thanks for your comment!

I just received some LED tail/brake lights for my 30 Coupe. They are the style that use the original teacups. They also came with the tail/brake lights that both come on at the same time. I want the original look and will be cutting the red wire that joins the two lights to operate as one.

I used the solid red ones because I got tired of people telling me that my turn signals came on when I hit the brakes.

    I go independently. I have a 1930 Model A Deluxe Coupé. I just a traditionalist I suppose. Thanks.

If I have a vote, I would say cut the wire. And a thank you for modernizing your car. I would do the headlights too. Here is some trivia. Most PCC streetcars used a Model A headlight.

Too bad I don't live close to you. Wiring cars is what I do for a living. I even do it off the clock! I must be a glutton for punishment! Ha!
LED lights are the way to go (in my opinion).
