    So far..L-Theanine has been incredibly helpful in dealing with an almost crippling amount of anxiety and stress I have been dealing with through no fault of my own. Valium would have been my first choice for this..as it is much stronger and works more effectively at stress and anxiety reduction. But..since it is almost impossible to get a prescription for Valium today in the USA due to so many people abusing opioids (even though Valium is not an opioid) and the FDA cracking down on certain drug prescriptions..L-Theanine is filling that void for the time being if I take a high enough dose..which is currently 800mg twice a day..and 1200mg on particularly emotionally challenging days. It is like a numbing agent for my brain..which is very welcomed when your stress and anxiety levels are near a breaking point. Wonderful video and info. And the gap between your front teeth is adorable and gives you character. 😉

    • @iseeu-fp9po
      @iseeu-fp9po ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Please know that Valium is a benzodiazepine and those are highly addictive. Tolerance builds quickly as well, meaning one would need more and more to reach that same level of effect. Please don't use benzo's for dealing with anxiety as it will only make it worse in the long run, like alcohol would if one was to use that for anxiety. I treat benzo's as a last resort if I need something to calm me down, like having a panic attack before needing to go on a plane to get back home or something. I don't touch it otherwise. Just be carefull, is all.

    • @jethrohetero4990
      @jethrohetero4990 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Valium is indeed very very effective, I’ll spare the lecture as I am sure you are aware of the potential problems associated with using benzo’s. That being said have you ever tried Phenibut? Or the even more potent and effective flourinated version f-phenibut? They can be purchased legally online without a prescription for “research purposes” lol, don’t ingest it😂.
      It effects GABA in the brain similar to benzos but definitely different. Its a but too sedating for my tast but I also do not like benzos for the same reason as well as the fact that just a too much benzo turns me into monster. Anyways it might be helpful for you amd it carries the same
      Precautions as benzos. Tolerance builds even more rapidly and you can quickly become dependent so its really not a good idea to be dosing the stuff repeatedly. More of an in emergency situations it can be very helpful

    Hello! Great video, very informative! Question - could L-Theanine possibly have a crash or hangover-like outcome the next day? I get that with caffeine, even a medium size coffee, I'll have a noticable lack of energy the next day. Which is why I don't consume coffee regularly (and hence it is a nice treat when I do!) and stick with tea. Yesterday, I received good matcha tea and today I have had two cups of it (4 tsps). I believe matcha contains L-Theanine in a near 1:1 ratio, with a bit more caffeine (17mg:25mg per tsps). I certainly feel more relaxed and definitely feel the caffeine kick, too. It's definitely a more relaxed 'up', comparable to utilizing CBD. My question and concern is, to be determined tomorrow - if I will feel a crash. Perhaps I will just because of the caffeine, so, I suppose I'd need to try with L-theanine alone only to see by myself. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

      Theanine can theoretically prevent the massive swings in energy levels that caffeine can cause. They are best to take together to prevent that.

    L theanine is not only in green tea. Black tea is made of the same plant as green tea, so thats also an option. I feel much less stressed when i drink tea rather then coffee, anyone who is a fan of caffeine would benefit by switching to green/black tea rather then coffee or energy drinks. I noticed if ive had too many coffees, a cup of tea removes a lot of the awful jitters i get, and its even brought me out of a borderline coffee induced anxiety attack. Its great stuff and i dont need a supplement, tea seems to be sufficently calming, its mild, but for a simple amino acid, its suprisingly beneficial

    • @NutritionLibrary

      Tea can be great for a lot of individuals, especially novice caffeine consumers. But for those that are consuming higher quantities of caffeine, higher quantities of theanine can be of benefit.

      The trick is to balance it. Theanine more accurately modulates the receptor. Keeps it from being overstimulated, doesn’t necessarily completely block it. This is why theanine is best with caffeine if you are taking it for mental performance. But also good at night for sleep, very versatile
