thank you. most youtubers make videos on diff interface but never use the second or third mic input, but you used all fours. thank you am getting mine
Definitely worth it for the price. It's made our audio so much cleaner and easier to manage, especially with multiple people. I'm sure it won't disappoint!
@@redbridgetuition thank you for the reply. I appreciate. Make more video. I'll watch
Thank you for the support and good luck with your new setup!
Great job guys. They show us a simple video about build setup👏👏
Thank you! 👍
this was extremely helpful
Glad we could help! Good luck with your setup.
Thinking of getting this exact same equipment!
It does everything we need it to and more! As an initial setup, we'd say go for it!
@@redbridgetuition do you have the Amazon USA version for everything needed
@@Rod-Cast I've had a look on Amazon USA and copied these links for you. Hope this helps!
Mic amzn.to/3FiCl8q
XLRs amzn.to/3mPQROt
Audio Interface amzn.to/3YHAzVk
USB-C Cable amzn.to/3LkaBUP
I can't see the exact same mic stand on Amazon USA but here is one which is basically the same but by a different brand.
Mic Stand amzn.to/3YQJGTS
I planned to get this exact same setup but I'm not doing a 4 person podcast and I got the minifuse 1 interface and the rode podmic but I already did have a Behringer Xm8500
If you don’t need 4 inputs then the minifuse 1 would also work just fine. We often have between 2 and 4 people on our podcasts and the jump in price to go up to 4 inputs wasn’t much on this interface. The podmic does look good, how does it compare? We use the rode wireless go for day-to-day filming.
Great idea - Can you cut down the setup part so people get the content right away?
Great video, So tell me how would I install 4 headphones for each of my 4 podcast guests ?
Thanks! Take a look at 9:35 . You would plug the headphones into the outputs on the back.
I found that zoom podtrak p4 is better option in similar price for 4 xlr inputs. Previous I used audio interface but it's required more work, connectint to PC/phone. Audio recorder is so much simpler and efficient because you record on one device, still while recording on p4 you can record backup on PC, which is useful.
I use same mic Behringer xm8500
Yeah, it's definitely a good option although it is around £60 more expensive. Being able to record a backup and record onto the device itself is also super useful depending on your workflow.
@@redbridgetuition on premiere P4 was quite expensive, but after 2 years it's only 30 £ more than Behringer. Worth mentioning that zoom p4 it's good only for podcast not really good option for music or singing, no jack inputs, only 16bit audio. Behringer is more versatile with 24bit and xlr-jack combo
I have this exact set up, and wanting to know what you would use to allow each podcaster to hear themselves back - ie everyone with closed back headphones... How would you include this? Ideas for headphone distributor amp? Would you send a main out mix into the headphone distributor? or what?
I just saw the outs for the headphones at the back - this would give each person their own voice - how would i send a mix back to the headphones of everyone, would this be necessary?
We don't currently use headphones for each person. However yes, if you want to, the outs for the headphones are at the back. That should theoretically send the same mix to each person as it's important for everyone to hear the same thing.
Can I do this on a IPad ? With recording 3 people at the same time ? I use the Podtrak P4 as an audio interface
You should be able to do multi-track recording using Garageband for iOS.
Another q: What do you do to avoid the second/third guest's voice being picked up by the other person's mic? When doing a podcast in person? So for instance - if you have 4 people and they speak over each other, then you get a doubling of their voice in the other mics, creating echoey sounds/phasing? Is this a mic TYPE or PLACEMENT issue? Or??? How does one navigate this?
Unfortunately, this does also happen to us. You can mitigate it by soundproofing the room to avoid reverb and yes the placement of the mics and guests will play a part. You can also cut between specific people's audio tracks during the edit.
exactly my thoughts thank you - I guess its about getting the best sound in the live take. Perhaps will invest in mini desk stand sound booths @@redbridgetuition
Can you use OBS with this set up?
We've never used OBS but from the looks of it you can click on source then audio input centre then add a new device and use the interface as your audio source. Hope this helps!
HOW MUCH DID THE SYSTEM COST AND ARE THERE ANY HEADPHONES?
See 11:37 for the cost of everything. If you decide to use headphones that would be an additional cost.
Can I buy this in usa and use it in usa without any issues?
Yes, you shouldn't have any issues between countries. There are USA Amazon links in the description. Good Luck!
Since you've been using this for a while now, what's the verdict? Have you upgraded any of it?
We have actually kept everything the same as you see in this video. We haven't yet found a reason to upgrade. The audio quality is more than good enough!
@@redbridgetuition That's awesome news. My gear arrived today. Ended up going for a Behringer Xenyx Q1202USB and four Marantz Professional MPM-1000 microphones. But still, watching your vid was really helpful.
Glad we could help!
wheres the 4 headphones?
We don't currently use headphones but if you want to, the outs for the headphones are at the back. Take a look at around 9:37
