    I want the T305CA (I7-7y75 version) but can't find it anywhere!!
    Why Asus is so slow when it comes to bringing their products to market? It's happening with their smartphones too
    (i.e Zenfone 3 Deluxe Special Edition is not available anywhere!)

    Hey guys thanks for the review! I notice in your video, the screen has horizontal lines, almost like an old cathode ray TV :) Are there really lines, or is it just due to difference in video frequency between the screen and your video camera?

    Question:Does this 2-in-1 allow you to write with the stylus while your hand is on the screen? I assume so since it's made for stylus use. It looks like you've got your hand on the screen while writing with the pen, but I want to be sure before buying.

      @@goodereader hi I know its probably too late to ask, but how do I turn this on? Because of my palm resting I get missing strokes or dots from my palm all over the page. I turned the 'ignore touch input when I'm using my pen' in settings on. Please help I really want this to work but if its not gonna start reading the strokes properly I'm gonna have to return it :( it just seems that when I end a stroke (for example when I was writing number 5) once I finish the first stroke it starts to read my palm and the next stroke is either some garbage make by my palm or it starts late and I get an empty space. What should I do? Sorry for my English :)

  • @WeskerUmbrella4
    @WeskerUmbrella4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This looks like an interesting device from Asus. I'm really loving the ergonomic design and the build quality.
    It's better than it's predecessor (T101) and it i still in a decent price range, making it a better upgrade than simply being forced to buy the older model for the affordability. So far, i'm also pleased that they didn't go too high-end with this one in display resolution as that is the usual battery guzzler and can lead to disappointing short sessions for the most basic tasks, just for the sake of looking good while doing it. I love small devices like this one and it's currently on my number one list to buy, when it comes to my country. I'm definitely not planning to play any games or do some heavy processing stuff so this would be more than a decent desktop replacement option for the road.
    *But i have a few questions:*
    1. How does the battery life feel? Too short, decent or long?
    I'm hoping i can get at least 8+ hours on it, given the fact i'm not a power user. So the stuff would include web browsing, watching streams, YT clips, some programming work and office work. I don't believe i would be watching movies on it at any point in time and definitely no gaming. I know that the manufacturer says 11 hours of video playback but it's always shorter in practice, depending on specific user needs.
    2. Resolution is 1280x800 and on your videos, camera recording the desktop portion looks real grainy. Almost like i can see the pixel groups. I've seen 1280x800 displays but they didn't look like that. So my question is, is it the camera's fault or does the display have poor pixel density? I'm definitely not going to be looking at it through a magnifying glass so my only concern is that it really isn't a poor viewing experience for the eyes.
    3. I'm not a stylus user so i'd be probably skipping it.
    How does the trackpad feel like? In some previous models, users were split between meh and decent reviews of the trackpad. I'm hoping they didn't cut the budget on this one in favor of some flavor like fingerprint sensor, stylus and a tablet rest part on the back. I also feel like this is something that inflated the price a bit but i don't really mind.
    4. How does multitasking feel like?
    Budget laptops such as this one usually have a threshold on how much things can be running at a time before it slows down but i am fairly certain that it's quad-core processor and 4GB of RAM are up to the task. I'm not looking for something that can keep millions of tabs in a browser open (Chrome) or 17 programs at once but some tolerance towards mediocre multitasking should be implied.
    5. Will you be doing more reviews of the T102HA in the future?
    The Unboxing and this video were informative but i'm afraid that those aren't enough to show off an amazing device like this one. I'm certainly hoping you'd make mroe videos, specifically aimed at benchmarks, multitasking, etc...
    I am glad i stumbled upon your channel.
    You have great content in there. Thanks for the reviews :)

    • @goodereader
      @goodereader  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1. too short of course, like most tablets do.
      2.its just overall not a display-power house. its meant to be cost efficient and portable
      3. it feels fine, not quite laptop esque but still good
      4. multi tasking is fine, in that regard, its quite laptop-like
      5. we may not, no. this was a review sample but unless companies send us more products, we may not seek out any further models
      Thanks for the epic comment !@

      @WeskerUmbrella4 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You're welcome.
      And thanks for the review. They did make a difference in my decision. :)
      Unfortunately for me, there are not a lot of proper reviews on this model yet on YT but i have some time to look for that information until it hits the stores in my country.

    Nice video guys! Could you do a more comprehensive pen test, showing how good the pen is at tracking at angles by zooming in close while writing slowly with a fine tip? I'm interested in this thing, as I'm sure many students are, and the pen accuracy is a huge point of consideration for note taking.

    • @JohnEusebioToronto
      @JohnEusebioToronto 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be getting it in a bit. I can answer that for you. But the answer should be YES. R is pretty light-weight, even with RStudio. For most basic stats, it'll probably be fine. There's an ancient desktop on my lab that can run R on a reasonably large dataset just fine. You'll definitely notice slowdowns with larger datasets, loops, and complex computations, but it'll do the job.
      With R, the most important bottleneck is RAM. R runs everything on RAM. This has 4 gigs, which should be fine. Not sure what kind of data you're working with.
      For excel, you might have some issues with larger sheets.

      You've commented on the Atom processor a few times in this thread already. It's no secret that the Atom processor is weak and people buying this should know that, but let's get real. I have a desktop for audio editing and other things that require processing power. A tablet is for running the office package, playing DuoLingo, watching Netflix and reading online articles and for that the Atom is competent. I've even been on a Chromebook with a weak Celeron processor and 2GB of RAM for three years and it's been great most of the time. It weighs less than 1,4kg, the battery life is 11 hours and it was ridiculously cheap. The only thing a decent i5 would have added to my experience would have been an emptier wallet, a little bit of weight, a growingly noisy fan and shorter battery life.

      Ms Queen Evelyn It can be but it’s REALLY slow. When I play League of Legends it drops to 10 fps when it was originally 20 fps (still bad).

    first i wanna call bull shit on the 11hr battery life. naw not by a long shot. maybe 6 at the most. battery indicator is very shotty. but other than that im very very happy with my purchase. performance and screen quality is just fine for what i use if for, which is lite gaming, lite paperwork, moderate web browsing and watching HD movies. btw nothing should have less than 4gigs of ram these days lol its a requirement! anywho I think they done pretty well for its class and market. heavy gamers and photo/video editors with power hungry apps shouldn't be looking in the 300 dollar range anyway. they should be in the 700 and up. not saying this one couldn't hang. lol it could. just with time.

      its also worth noting that in tablet mode without the keyboard the pen can magnetically attach to the side of the tablet where the keyboard goes ☺

      NO! The Atom Z8350 in this tablet is about as powerful as the CPU inside Samsung Galaxy S5, yeah you heard that correct, a phone released 3 years ago.

      I saw a lot of 1280*800 tablet (for example, the T100HA) in person, and the 150 PPI is horrible. And a shame.
      Slightly better, then the first iPad, 6 years ago... :(
      Sad... rally sad.

      there is no way that a properly working tablet will take five full minutes to launch any application. There is something wrong with your device I think
