      On Bens Bargains right now, it's about 115 dollars, but more reviews have said it really gets bogged down once a few startup apps are running, so TH-cam is not always guaranteed, and Microsoft Office barely runs.

    As always, great review. And some nice touch with the grading system. Great job. As far the tablet goes, I was thinking of getting a secondary device that I can use on the go and use it roughly, do a little typing etc. and I think I will give it a shot.

    I would never consider myself a novice or technophobe, but you speak so fast and give so much information so quickly I really had a lot of trouble understanding it or taking it in before the next feature was being fired out! This may be useful to people who are completely au fait with the lingo, but if you're actually wanting guidance on whether this is a good product or not, forget it!
    The closest I came to anything I found useful was that it didn't power his WD hard drive.. which I have, so at least I was able to cross this laptop off my list of eligible ones.

    Hi Andrew, Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Thank you for this review. I am currently searching for a 10-12" tablet and this seems like a great deal since I will mostly be using it for sketching and the checking email and maybe a little video watching, but I also just looked at a review for the ASUS Zen pad 3S 10 Z500M so I was wondering if you had done a review of that device and if you would recommend it over this one (ASUS Transformer Mini) Thanks again.

      I have not reviewed the Asus Zen Pen 3s, but I can say the Asus Transformer Mini certainly gets the job done. I will look into the Asus Zen Pad 3s for potential review. Thanks!

    I've had one of these for about a week now and have grown to really like it. Much of the criticism I have seen online hasn't really been an issue for me. I bought this to experiment with digital illustration and found the pen to be problematic. The pen would "skip" at times, especially right out of the box. It seemed as if it was having problems wherever there were fingerprints. I cleaned the screen a number of times but the pen would not glide easily over fingerprints. I finally discovered that rather than always clean the screen that cleaning the smudged screen with a soft cloth helped enormously. I guess the soft cloth evenly distributes the oils left behind by my fingers and suddenly the pen works flawlessly. I still feel the pen tip is too stiff and prefer using an actual Surface pen with it. Despite these problems, it's been a real trouper of a tablet and the long battery life is fantastic. I even like the keyboard and trackpad though I have encountered a few glitches here and there but nothing to be too upset over for a tablet at this price point. Excellent review and thansk for posting this!

      +Pierre Fontaine Hey I was looking into buying this 2 in 1 for digital art but as a secondary device. Primarily I use an Intuos pro but I wanted something I can take with me on the go to do quick doodles and concepts, basically things that arent too intensive or demanding. Anyways I was wondering if you've tried Sketchbook, if so what did you think of it? Did it perform well compared to any other programs you might have tried?

    Got this for Christmas as I was looking at a surface. Rushed to open and set it up as to do a review and let me say I'm ok with Asus. I see why the rush to a 12" or better is required. Yes the keyboard is to small but I am learning to adjust. A longer power cable would be a VERY nice addition. Since I was looking for something to at most handle a database and some mailing using word this might work. The screen was good for what I've done to date. I've watched a few movies and open a document. Wish it was faster but as I said, this might just work.

    Excellent review, many thanks. I think I'm just about sold on this hybrid, but I have a query over the USB port - if it is connected to mains power would I be able to run a Liteon external DVD drive (connects via a single cable for power and data) from the USB port? I noticed you said in the review that you had mixed results with the port, but was that when the Transformer was being powered by battery, and do you think that connecting it to the mains would make a difference? Thanks.

    Thanks for the review. I've been looking for a small 2-in-1 to replace my old 9" Asus EEE. I'm thankful that ASUS put 4GB of ram in there, and not 2GB. Manufacturers rarely gets the point with ram. Even if the CPU is slow, there's benefit in multitasking with more ram. Even expensive $1000 entry models like the Dell XPS 2-in-1 comes with only 4GB, which is insane in 2017. I have 4 wishes that I'd like Asus to do for their next iteration:
    1. Keep form factor but make screen about 1" bigger (smaller bezels).
    2. Put a Core M in there (might have to limit the CPU to handle heat).
    3. Bump the ram to 8GB.
    4. Keyboard backlight.
    I think there's a big market for small PCs, if they solve the performance problems.

      I'm using it as my school device now, as a replacement of the Linx 1010. It looks and feels so much better than what I expected out of online pictures, spec sheets, videos and reviews when I finally got it. I would say that it's a premium tablet at a cheaper price to flagship devices.

    Hi, great video really complete [liked]! I want to buy a t102ha but I'm wondering how the keyboard is? It looks much more stiff than a surface keyboard on your video but, do you think it is rigid enough to type on your lap, in bed or sofa... or should I go with the t101ha which has almost the same specs (despite being less sexy lol), but a more laptop keyboard style?

    • @andrewmarcdavid
      @andrewmarcdavid  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can type of your lap, but just like the SP4, it is not ideal. I don't think any of the surface like devices are good in the lap to be honest. But it can be done with some balancing required.

      Surface 3 is the best "budget" 2 in 1 out there, but I believe a 4gb 128 model is $400 by itself, plus another $100 for the keyboard and $100 for the pen. And I don't think it's manufactured anymore.

  • @rogersmith5371

    First a little background. I bought an Asus TF210 Tablet/Computer many years ago. I still have and I still use it but it cannot be upgraded from Android 4.1 and despite getting all the updates and so on the browsers (there are two Chrome and another one whose name I forget) frequently crash. Further there are very few apps for it not that I need many but even so there are few. The appeal of the Asus was it was both a tablet and computer with a full sized functioning keyboard. Both the screen and the keyboard had batteries promising up to 18 hours on a charge. That was never achieved. Next I bought a Surface RT when it looked like the Asus had died - it turned out to be a faulty charger which I replaced by getting a new one on ebay. The Surface RT runs Windows 8.1 and can't be upgraded to Win 10. It uses Internet Explorer (yes I know) and there are very few apps for it in the Microsoft Store. I see now that there are a variety of new Surface Tablets including a budget priced Surface Go as well as that there is now dual screen device made by Microsoft that runs Android (so there will be many more apps). The point of all this is; you haven't at the mid point of the review mentioned anything about the Windows version and upgrades etc being available. We should not assume that this will automatically occur Asus may well have some statement about this but users need to be sure. Secondly although this is a new device it is to be hoped that there will be a heap of apps for those who need them and either a version of Office or a version of Libre Office that can be installed. I don't want to be a naysayer but I think it is easy to be sucked in by a new low price gadget that has no future. I say this because Asus discontinued the TF201 after a short time.

    So what would be your top 3 less pricey full Windows choices for a Surface Pro 4? Great reviews.
    Thanks

    Great review!
    Im a professional musician and I need something like the mini or a 13 inch tablet that has usb ports for expanding the drives and or sd slot. I would use it live on stage to play mp4 or mp3 files. karaoke or home made mp4 videos.I would need a file or karaoke media player that can adjust the files pitch or key on the fly,live right on stage.Aside from the 2 in one or tablet,would you know of a good software/app also, that can be used on it live on stage as I described? As it is now,Im using an app called Kjams to play the files and change keys as needed. Are there any others like a (itunes that changes keys) out there?
    Thanks for your help.
    Barry in NYC.

      AMDtech what would you recommend as a business 2 in 1 that would be mostly used docked at work i.e. hooked up to external monitor/keyboard ? it needs to be able to easy hookup for presentations on beamers... looking for good worthy surface alternatives...

      Tony S. I got it, and it works beautifully, definitely not Surface Pro 4 but difinitely on par with Surface Pro 3. This thing is so good!! I use this more than my PC.

    Hello Andrew, I am a student looking for a device with the soul purpose of school work. The note taking features of the Asus T102ha are really appeling. But since I haven't had any hands on experience with the devices I am struggling with my decision of whether to buy it or not. I currently am debating on whether to get the Asus T102ha-c4-GR or the Samsung tab a with Spen. Would you recommend one over the other for task like note taking on powerpoints and one note?

    • @greenbeansean
      @greenbeansean 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Luis Sierra Get the tab as it may have less bloatware. Some apps are better designed for those devices than mini laptops.
