- Ouagadougou is the capital of Burkina Faso and the administrative, communications, cultural, and economic center of the nation. It is also the country's largest city, with a population of 2,200,000 in 2015. The city's name is often shortened to Ouaga. The inhabitants are called ouagalais. The spelling of the name Ouagadougou is derived from the French orthography common in former French African colonies.
Ouagadougou's primary industries are food processing and textiles. It is served by an international airport and is linked by rail to Abidjan in the Ivory Coast and, for freight only, to Kaya. There are several highways linking the city to Niamey, Niger, south to Ghana, and southwest to Ivory Coast. Ouagadougou has one of West Africa's largest markets, which burned down in 2003 and has since reopened with better facilities and improved fire-prevention measures. Other attractions include the National Museum of Burkina Faso, the Moro-Naba Palace (site of the Moro-Naba Ceremony), the National Museum of Music, and several craft markets.

Learning about Burkina Faso and its people is likened of the Philippines and its people. They like festivals, music, very friendly people, always smiling, happy people, big family, tolerant to people who have a different religion and many more commonality between these two countries. The only different is that Burkina Faso in Africa and the Philippines is an archipelago, and it is located in Asia. In terms of natural resources, both countries have a gold deposit. Both countries were colonized too, with barbaric colonizers. My hope and prayer for Burkina Faso is that the country will be prosperous soon and the people can live in peace from now on. May God bless this country and its people, and may God protect their President Ibrahim Traore and his family. Watching from U.S.A.
Once upon a time, a great leader emerged in this country. He was a true patriot who loved his people and had a clear vision and good ideas on how to move the country forward and get it out of poverty. Some sad day, in 1987, he got killed by a guy who then managed to keep the country in poverty for three decades. The good news is, the latter was eventually (thank God) kicked the hell out, and they have to restart all over again and build everything. I'm sure they will succeed because they are a great and hard working people. God Bless BF.
