Very useful. I can completely empathize with you. Because this is a public forum can't explain. I like you presentation style.

I'm being assessed for ASD next month. I do experience meltdowns mainly caused by unexpected change to plans or schedules as well as built up stress in general. In the build up to one I can tell my body just feels 'different' and when they happen I feel confused. I can't make out why I feel the way I do and don't understand why I can't just figure things out, I hit my head, bite myself and tense up. It's almost like a brain block to some of the most basic tasks.
I don't know if I have ASD but I'm hoping my assessment brings some answers.

I'm so happy that you are getting assessed. Even if it isn't ASD, at least you will know what it is or what it isn't too! It's a scary time having meltdowns and they are so erratic and we lose complete control of what happens. It's like someone else has taken over the control room in our brains and we are left foggy and confused. I often don't know I've had one until I'm out of it and exhausted for days after. Sending all my love to you. Keep me posted on how you get on ❤️

Extra pressure, disorder, inability to make progress.. these things can bring on a meltdown for me. I might start bawling, screaming, hitting myself or things (walls, not people) and then I feel sick for a couple of days afterwards. ☹️

It is a very frustrating world isn't it 😔 yes I never hit anyone but I do inflict injury to myself and dont realise until the meltdown is over 😪 Yes it takes some time to recover from doesn't it? It is very exhausting also isn't it? Sending you all of my love 💓
