With Carnivore, I no longer throw out any food, before things were always going bad. Averaging out eggs or sardine meals with the meat, ends up being very cost affective. Not to mention going to doctors a lot less, less medication bought etc….

Thanks for this Series Dr Cywes. The timing is impeccable. Today sister in law texted me to tell me she was ready to address her various insulin related issues and wanted to know how to start. I promptly fired this and other materials over for her review and happened to proudly preface it with the fact you’ve been my Dr for the last several years. Thanks for what you do🙏🏻

I really appreciate a MD perspective. I am 2 weeks in to carnivore and feeling disappointed I am not losing weight and my glucose is still 100-115. But I have been unhealthy for years, it won’t happen overnight, at least not for me.

Personally, I am KETO. Max carbs per day is about 40. I stay away from pork products. 70% fat. I am 40 lbs down and easily kept it off. My triglycerides dropped from over 100 to 41. Yes 41. Been Keto for 4 years and I feel incredible. I can't express how healthy I feel. But dirty keto is not good! Clean keto is essential.

Just over a year ago, before I ever saw even one of your videos, I came the the realization that I was a carb addict. Your channel confirmed this. I have not eaten sugar or simple carbs since Feb 1st 2024. I've lost about 40lb, and feel great, and a couple of weeks ago chose to eat a strict carnivore diet during the week, with a little more leeway on weekends. But still no sugar or simple carbs. And it's been easy! I have not had carb cravings for the past year, even though my wife brings them home all the time. For the first time in my life I can just say no!

Love the advice in this video. So glad to hear someone talk about this not being easy. I had a super hard time with the gut adjustment, and my diet was not THAT bad before, but still somewhat carby. Started mostly meat based diet 2 years ago for weight loss. I lose weight very slowly, but my biggest surprise was curing ibs-d, fatty liver and gum inflammation. (My gums have bled forever and I was losing gum tissue, and never bleed now and they have recovered! ) I have lost 23 lbs (went from 210 to 187) but now it comes off soooo sloooow. I have gone thru low carb, to keto and briefly carnivore and back to low carb. I am calling it WFMB whole food meat based. My husband is WFPB with some fish and eggs at my urgence. I separate our groceries just to see the cost difference… he definitely spends less, about $350-$400, and I spend $450-$500. (Monthly - Medium Cost of Living Area.) But I do indulge in prime steaks from time to time. Hope this helps somebody :)

Carnivore has been A complete paradigm shift for me as a Naturopath.. I appreciate your knowledge and the Saffa humour too.. I miss it a bit over here in Aus. I used to lecture on the importance of fibre and greens.. juice detoxes and at the same time using bioresonance therapy to treat all those symptoms and signs of what I now believe to be mostly due to carbs, antinutrients and food sensitivities. Keep u the education Dr Rob.. I learn a lot from you in this space. Thank you . Mooi bly.

I have slept so much better since making the connection between eating carbs and not sleeping well. Slow learner that I am, I went keto several months ago. I noticed better quality of sleep right away. But only in January did I have chips and salsa with a carb heavy Mexican lunch that I put it together. Didn’t sleep that night. My brain was whirring all damn night.

I have been a patient of Dr Cywes for over a year and half. He is spot on and absolutely correct. He doesn’t sugar coat it, he is straight serous and to the point. This life transformation he is about go into detail over the next 9 videos is priceless and will change your life for the better. 2 years into this and I would never go back. Yes, it can be a little rocky the first 4-6 weeks. But it will be well worth it. The hardest thing, is hearing the audience in your life questioning what you’re doing and trying to pull you back into the Standard American Sh1t diet. Best of luck.

Such impeccable timing. I started transitioning to carnivore in October (though I didn't know this at the time) 😂 I stopped consuming all processed carbs, then the rice, pasta etc, then the final stage was the veggies. This is my 5th day, and yesterday I decided that I'm not interested in coffee anymore. I drink bone broth instead. Practice intermittent fasting. Still floundering around protein and fat ratio so very keen to watch the rest of the videos. Thank you so much Dr Cywes ❤️

This is good advice, Dr. Cywes! Whenever you're drastically changing your diet, it should always be done slowly (unless you want to suffer while your body tries to make quick adjustments!).
5 months ago, I began a keto diet. But for several months before that, I had already started edging out some of my carbs in favor of more animal protein. As time went on eating keto, I lowered my carbs more and more, and I am now leaning more ketovore (meat heavy keto).
I'm not sure if I will go completely carnivore, but at some point I might give it a try and see how I feel. For now, I am happy and feeling good on ketovore!

I haven’t had to deal with any cravings or sugar detox etc when I did a low carb medium fat and protein keto diet I had horrendous trouble adapting and thought I might actually die! How ever I think that my diet over all was much better this time around or my body already know how to be fat adapted. If I need anything in the day I have a cup of home made bone broth. I think my secret to sticking with it has been thinking a head for 1 day and preparing or at last having something in the fridge ready to cook. I have UC and was having a chronic flare that I haven’t been able to control for months. I have already seen some Improvement in 10 days! Only problem is is my son is vegan 😂😂😂

    I’m a type 2 diabetic.
Currently on metformin xr, and have been on Mounjaro for 5 weeks.
I have been eating a ketogenic diet.
I just had a meeting with my diabetes doctor, and when I told her I was eating Keto, she said that was BAD.
She said that because Mounjaro is both a GLP-1 and GIP inhibitor, I MUST have some carbohydrates in order for the Mounjaro to work, because it is glucose dependent.
I eat chicken, olive oil, lettuce, cauliflower, bovine collagen for extra protein, and take various multivitamins.
Is this TRUE what the doctor said- that I MUST have other carbohydrates (quinoa, rice, whole grains, etc,) for Mounjaro to work the best for me?
    I’m male, 5’11, 22% bodyfat, and weight 222lbs.
Blood sugars run between occasional lows of 66, to as high as 168.
My A1C has dropped from 11.6 to 8.4
Thanks for any “non-medical opinions” (wink, wink,) you can share with me.

Since you are tired, sounds like you are not in ketosis. If you want to prevent AD, your liver needs to be producing ketones. Stopping carbs should do it. Be sure there are no sugars or starches in anything you eat or drink. It will block ketosis.
Now about that T stuff you take. Eating meat and eggs is good to be sure you get enough nutrition. T raises your insulin and lowers glucagon so is probably blocking ketosis. No AD protection. Take your choice.

Is the “Thanks” button here helpful, or not preferred? Just wondering because he didnt mention, but it is my preferred method. I assume so, but not many people I see using it, so I thought maybe I am missing something…

Creators receive Super Thanks revenue in the same way they receive ads revenue through AdSense.
Creators can view their Super Thanks earnings by going to TH-cam Studio, then Analytics, then Revenue.
Under Transaction Revenue, creators can see a breakdown of their total Super Thanks earnings. “

No doubt that LDL goes up unfortunately. However, the HDL also goes up fortunately. Also Total cholesterol shoots up too. I have been in carnivore for years and my Total and LDL cholesterol always was higher than previous test results. I can't do better than what I am currently doing. My lipid panel was in normal range when I was on Keto.

I hit a hard platue in carnivore because of the horrible muscle cramping that would throw me out of bed in the middle of night and cripple me throughout the day. I have no idea how to fix it. Adding carbs back in helped for a little bit, but they are back and will not go away no matter what I eat or drink or move. 😢

@@TeeAnn Something funny: for years I've suffered with very painful muscle cramps in my lower legs and feet. I kept hearing "take magnesium", and I did, for years. But it never helped at all!
Well, it turns out the dosage matters. All these years I wasn't taking enough! Recently a new doctor told me to take at least 400 mg a day. I started that, and now a few weeks later my cramps aren't completely gone, but their GREATLY diminished! Ha ha, it turns out I just wasn't taking enough. I'm thinking I might increase my magnesium a bit more, and maybe the cramps will go away completely.

Losing weight does not really matter because water weight can make it yoyo. Measuring yourself gives a better idea to see what your body is actually doing. Because as you eat more nutrients dense food your body structure should change, bones become denser, muscle building replacing fat, etc. So you may stay the same weight or gain weight but your clothes fit differently.

The engine analogy was horrible. You can't rebuild an engine and convert a gas engine to diesel.

Also lots of modern multi-fuel engines out there. Gasoline ,diesel, propane, natural gas. Used for backup electricity generators. You have to make small adjustments with valves or switches when changing fuel.

    • @TeeAnn
      @TeeAnn 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

I was thinking this myself. But the message resonated with me. Not many carnivore influencers recognize that this switch over from carb fuels to fat burning is very hard on some of us. They talk about keto flu for a few days, but I had MONTHS and had to take enzymes before my gut was okay with a meat based diet.

    • @petertownsend252
      @petertownsend252 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

Yes I agree absolutely. Horrible analogy. If you burn diesel fuel in a gasoline engine or vice versa burn gasoline in a diesel engine the results would be sudden and catastrophic. By analogy, a sudden fatal heart attack.
A better analogy would be trying to burn straight 100% ethanol in a gasoline engine. It may run great with increased horsepower (but lower MPG) for a couple tank fills. However, the increased power and combustion heat will soon burn and destroy the pistons and valves. 100% straight ethanol is also highly corrosive and will soon destroy the rubber gaskets and seals of the fuel system (gas tank, fuel pump, fuel lines). Engines and fuel systems can be tuned and adapted to burn 100% straight ethanol and/or various mixtures of gasoline and ethanol (i.e., flex fuel cars).
