Exactly! I have a 2000 F550 that I bought for $17k this year with only 150k miles, I'm getting ready to do a full 2018 conversion of the interior and exterior. I love the body style, but I don't even like the newer diesel engines. This is my 3rd 7.3l powerstroke because my first one got totaled by a Volvo and I sold my 2nd 😢 regret it ever since. Now I have an F550 I will never part with, so I'm going to turn it into the truck of my dreams.

Thanks, I made more videos but I never ended up editing them or posting em,I never really did anymore major work on it, Im currently building my engine for my trailblazer ss and looking for a 05-07 crew cab super duty to rebuild similar to this truck to post a start to finish project.
*doing this now and my front bumper looks like yours at the **4:19** and **4:20** mark where you can see the fender mount hole right where the bumper and fender meet. I see you were able to move the bumper up, im curious what you did to move it up. I also have the factory foglight in the bumper, I noticed that clearance is an issue. I have spacers in there now to help move the bracket from the fog light bucket. This moves the bumper forward but im trying to avoid moving it forward much more due to the offset of the curve of the wheel well between the bumper and fender. What adjustments did you make to get the bumper up higher to close that gap? Did you make new mounting holes? The very last picture you show at **4:24** is what im trying to get to (smaller gap). I have the mcnasty bumper bracket kit also. Any info is greatly appreciated, great video!*
For the front bumper I ended up just mounting it directly to the old bumper mount that’s notched out but I only used the bottom mounting hole on Each side to mount it, I had the mcnasty bumper bracket also but when I tried to use it my bumper wouldn’t look right and had a bigger gap like how you explained yours.
That's awesome keep up hard work and dedication man . You going make big on TH-cam one day watch keep posting videos. And if you do remember I told u so .
Very cool! I always wanted to do a conversion like this. The only question I have would be in regards to inspection, specifically PA if anyone knows. Would this actually have to be classified as an R-Title after a new bed and front end?
No. It's a 1999 F-series no mater what you bolt to it. Change the interior change the body panels, the suspension, another transmission, take the whole cab off and put on another year it's still a 99 for taxes, inspections, and title.
Im doing this same conversion. to my excursion. I need the 2016 wiring harness for the headlights and adapter... im having a hell of a time locating this. How did you get yours? or howd you wire your new lights?
@@jimmylomeli9248 eBay sells the adapter should be like a 9007 to H11 bulb harness or something along the lines of that, I think the aftermarket LED bulbs might also work could buy the 9007 bulb kit and a H11 bulb kit and use the h11 bulbs with the ballast from the 9007 kit so it plugs into the factory harness
I'd like to look at one of these converted trucks in person just to see if it looks like a junkyard job or like it came out of the factory lookin like that
There are a bunch that are butchered together, mine had a lot of time and money into it so it was pieced together nicely and the right way with the matching bed, only thing on mine That was iffy In this video was the original rear doors needed to be replaced due to rust and a cracked mirror
I’m definitely subscribing I’m picking up a 2004 Ford F-250 5.4 v8 (don’t criticize me ) it’s my real first 3 quarter ton rig I’ve had a 91 f150 and a 2000 ford ranger xlt I want that conversion kit tho
I almost got a 5.4 before this one , I have a list of parts somewhere in comments or description, just search eBay or junk yards for parts, good luck with the truck.
I see you had leather front seats, I have a 2000 f350 xlt extended cab with the cloth seats all around. Is there any way to change the rear bench to leather or did you just keep it cloth? Thinking about doing this project with my truck any help is appreciated!!
I used leather seats front and rear that came out of a 01-03, you can do the rear but one hole for the floor won’t get bolted(doesn’t make a difference because the rest bolt up and keep it in place) and the back part of the seat you can use any angled piece of metal and make a bracket with self tapers or weld it if you’re capable, I self tapered angled aluminum as brackets and made it work
Personally I think a cab swap would be way more involved because you have wiring, and other sensors on one cab that’s not on the other ect, plus you’d have to swap the vin from the old cab to the new one to be in compliance with emissions, the only way I’d say it’d be worth it is if you got a cheap rust free complete donor truck and a lot of time to do the swap lol , but it’d definitely be easier to just do the front clip.
They should have the same bolt pattern right ? I know SRW trucks kept the same pattern 1999-2021 if the duallys stayed the same like the SRW then you could just put them on if not then you can buy the adapters online, I’m sure eBay sells em
They’re the original doors from 1999, the rear doors should only be changed to 08+ on the extended cab only if you put 08+ interior since the rear door panel has the seatbelt built into it,but otherwise the doors don’t need to be touched
Thanks. I have the same body style as you extended/super cab. Looks great thanks for the information can’t wait to try and get mine to look half as good as yours.
I did it back in 2017,I bought the parts new from Ford it was about $4k for the front clip parts and $500 mcnasty brackets, the bed tailgate and bumper was $3k and paint was $1k, so for me it was right around $8500ish & I did the labor, but now you could probably get the parts & bed for $3-4k used maybe less
@@smoovekat6276 the kit for the brackets is $500 and you’ll need 11-16 hood, fenders, grille, bumper, upper &lower grille support, hood latch, hood hinges, headlights and little stuff that goes with all that, I’m sure you can find all that used for $2500ish if you shop around, and I’d say anticipate to buy atleast $500-800 in paint materials, and if your not mechanically inclined and can’t paint I’d say prob atleast another $2k in labor. So parts with brackets & paint supplies looking at $3500-3800.
