Here's are my honest thoughts and impressions about the newest Mobile Suit Gundam anime movie, "Cucuruz Doan's Island," an adaptation of the original series' secret episode 15!

also forgot to mention: Did anyone else notice that the Southern Cross High Mobility Type Zakus didn't have a thruster on the undersides of their feet? I assumed it's because they skate around with the bell bottom thrusters like the Doms, but even the Doms have a big thruster under each foot.

I think what happened with the original is that after this episode the animation took a five because the guy in charge of making sure everything looking right from key to key frame got sick and had to get hospitalized so all the episodes just got dumped out by people that would have their work checked by this guy

That would check out. Even in episode 14, the Gundam is hilariously off-model in a lot of the shots.

They always use full name of Fraw Bow when talking to her.
Throwing Doan's Zaku at least makes much more sense in this(I guess)
Since Zeon's reasoning for ever returning to that Island are completely gone which is the missile. And having his zaku permanently decomissioned adds to the idea Zeon can assume he also got KIA during the fight there.
If Amuro did not throw that, it is within's Doan's character to repair the zaku yet again and might be tempted to keep using it again

This movie fits in within the Origin manga canon where they went to Jaburo first before going to Odessa.

When I was watching it. I figured that it was based in the manga. The designs are more closely to that than original. As the manga overall story is the same but is has some changes. I haven't finished reading the manga yet. So I will have to read it more to find out. I just assume so as more projects in UC lately tend to follow the Gundam: The Origin Manga Version. For example, Gundam The Origin the anime is based on the manga.

@@TanukiType I mean the only other support fact on this is the director of the film also did the manga. So most likely it is the case
