The saddest thing about Sawsbuck is I know how he could have been more interesting. He could have had a new ability called Seasonal Benefits that would allow him stab with a third type based the season. Winter give ice stab because duh Spring give bug as bugs help flowers during the season Summer give fire with Summer being hot and sunny Autumn give ground with leaves falling to the ground. It would have been interesting and has lore to tie to it.
In Scarlet and Violet, I fell in love with Arboliva. I gave it Earth power, Energy ball, Dazzling gleam, and Hyper voice. It was great during my normal team run.
I mean, Tangrowth was OU in Gen 7 & UU in gen 8, so it’s definitely used a fair amount. It’s actually very good competitively. Hell, even Tangela is decent with an eviliote.
Forgot to mention how Bellossoms dances with Ludicolo after you get a big win at Spinda cafe in Pokemon explorers of sky. Bellossom does great in that great game as one of the top grass types.
This list NEEDS Chesnaught in it its actually a lot better than people think great physical attack, strong defense, solid move pool, and awesome signature move I used it numerous times in x/y and it literally only struggled against Valerie
Makes sense too, because fairies would be hesitant to destroy nature, so thematically it would be like fairies inherently pull their punches because they can't bring themselves to destroy plants.
Never thought of it until this video but I wonder why Gloom was given a split evolution but Weepinbell wasn't? It would've given more use to the newly introduced Sunstone.
Scovillain was worth adding in this list . Chlorophyll ability and grass and fire type is so busted in my opinion. Just pair it with drought ability Pokemon and see it destroy Everything.
I’ve always loved both Vileplume & Victreebel. I always use Victreebel in Kanto play throughs, & Vileplume in Johto playthroughs. (You can get Oddish really early in Johto games & it does great in my opinion. Competitively, they do great in the sun with Chlorophyll. Vileplume gets a one turn solar beam, plus stab sludge bomb, can also use Moonblast for coverage, as well as sleep powder, leech seed, & sap sipper.
I like this video and the way it’s edited, but i wish the number transitions faded a little smoother like the other videos. Perhaps you’re pushed for time, but I think it would look smoother 😊 great job on this series though 😄
I loved Vileplume as a kid. He was creepy to me for reasons I can't explain. Easily one of my favourite grass types and never failed to mop the floor with any water or ground types that crossed my path. The fact he had a Southern accent in his debut episode only cemented my love for him.
I had a dark vileplume pokemon card that I think attributed to me feeling the same way about it as a kid. That and the dark type elite 4 member using it in gen 2. Sabrina, I think. Always loved Vileplume.
I will always love victreebell, but mostly because I swept against a good friend with it while they didn't expect it. I ran swords dance leaf blade, poison jab and leech life haha
Sawsbuck was my ace in Scarlett. I never played B/W so this was my first game it was available. Appletun was my tank in Shield. Shiinotic was my sleepy sweeper in Sun. I love grass types!
Like last time, still waiting for underaated ghost types like Haunter overshadowed by their evolution or pokemon like Trevenant that dont have much of a following
Grass types are my favorite, and they are overwhelmingly overlooked by most. With 2 general exceptions, oddly enough both from gen 5 of all places, Ferrothorn and Amoongus. Cherrim is amazing and I love it. Sawsbuck has een one of my all time favorites ever since we saw it in gen 5, which seems to have so many great grass types. I just wish they would keep the weather system in games, so it's gimmick would actually work, instead of having to catch 4 just to get the effect. I also prefer Sap Sipper on it, as it boosts my attack, and I would prefer to to make one of my weaknesses even greater just for a speed boost.
Cherrim would be more popular today if it wasn't a form. I wish Overcast is a middle evolution so we don't use a sunny day to see this cutie. Pokemon go did it where you can just capture it or evolve Cherubi in daytime and it stays in sunshine form, why can't the mainline do that!?😭
Yeah I agree that vileplume is underrated and I used one in my first play through of red version. And omg it ended up being better than I thought it would. Also what the heck is going on at the end of the video? Why did it play the same clip twice? Did he mess something up in editing?
Shinotic I completely overlooked until the Crown Tundra Raid Max Raid Dungeons. It's one of the better mons to get for them, and one I will use in a future playthrough.
Cherrim is by far one of my top ten favourtie pokemon mainly after i played the fan game Pokemon Reborn, Rei Sunshine the Cherrim took on every gym like the king he was even the double bug gym, if u love a pokemon they can take u places regardless of type disadvatages (sometimes😂)
I used eldegloss on my first playthrough of shield and it saved my ass multiple times and kicked ass too id ont how it did but it did 100% deserves a spot
i love vileplume its just a bit of a shame it is basicly a worse venusaur but now it atleast has a bit of a unique niche compared to venusaur with strenght sap
I think Meganium needs a look through. It may be the absolute worst starter ever, bar none... but it's still a starter, with the Stats and useful moves to match.
I absolutely agree that sawsbuck is highly underrated and sadly it’s normal/grass typing doesn’t help with that especially since I love it’s winter version more than others
I've had an interesting thought on Bellossom for some time now. I feel like the Beta "Bayleef" that was leaked was coded wrong in its dex placement or just prematurely but that its actually Bellossom's original pre-evolution. It looks more like bellossom than it does beta chikorita or maganium. Just a thought.
I like the idea, but there was also a beta chikorita that makes more sense. The beta chikorita supposedly looked like a little grass slug thing that the beta bayleef resembles some.
I have no idea what they were thinking putting in Zarude in the same generation as Rillaboom. It's so similar, but better in battle than it's Legendary counterpart and, as a starter, guaranteed to get attention. It never stood a chance.
When I got my hands on pokémon Y I decided a team with style and a bit glamor and a bit girly so I went on website to see of the list of pokémon I could get I choose the fire starter and I needed a pokémon that could take on water type and then I found out i can try my hands Bellossom because I have already used vileplume before in sapphire before and well I appreciate Bellossom more than Vilplume it's sadly you have to be stuck with Gloom a long time to get the best move set for Bellossom from level up
I think the top 10 Underrated Grass types are 10, Appleturn 9, Gogoat 8, 7, Eldergoss 6 Zarade 5, Vileplume 4, victreebel 3,Bellossom 2, Cherium 1, Sawsbuck amd do Fire type next.
I think someone forgot to review the video before uploading it. There was an axtra repeat clip at the end of this video. . No worries! It happens to us content creators. 😅
Kinda curious what changed your opinion on Sawsbuck, you had it rated as one of the worst grass types before and now it's the most underrated in your opinion
The saddest thing about Sawsbuck is I know how he could have been more interesting. He could have had a new ability called Seasonal Benefits that would allow him stab with a third type based the season.
Winter give ice stab because duh
Spring give bug as bugs help flowers during the season
Summer give fire with Summer being hot and sunny
Autumn give ground with leaves falling to the ground.
It would have been interesting and has lore to tie to it.
Also have a sawsbuck coffee franchise. That would make me happier than anything.
That'd be AWESOME
I like it though fairy is perfect for spring and autumn for ghost ..
And a signature move like oricorios revelation dance instead of Tera blast
In Scarlet and Violet, I fell in love with Arboliva. I gave it Earth power, Energy ball, Dazzling gleam, and Hyper voice. It was great during my normal team run.
The internal pain I felt having Alolan Exeggutor left out of the Grass Dragon mentions when discussing Appleton LOL
Imma be mad if Tangrowth isn't on here cause he's definitely underrated
No he is not. Man is not only really good, but is universally pretty liked.
@@toadsagejacob7896 idk I barely see anybody naming him as a favorite or top 5 but yes he is really strong
Yeah, no, Tangrowth is a more commonly liked mon than you realize.
Jumpluff saved me in a nuzlocke. Its speed and access to sleep powder is really good for single player
Honesty I hope Carnivine gains a evolution it really needs a major buff
This list NEEDS Chesnaught in it its actually a lot better than people think great physical attack, strong defense, solid move pool, and awesome signature move I used it numerous times in x/y and it literally only struggled against Valerie
The very first time I used the Oddish line was in Red with Charmander as my starter. This combo was disgustingly OP.
I still think Grass should of resisted Fairy.
Buff a weak defensive type while nerfing a strong offensive type.
It’s even justifiable for flavor reasons (the Fae are servants of nature)
Makes sense too, because fairies would be hesitant to destroy nature, so thematically it would be like fairies inherently pull their punches because they can't bring themselves to destroy plants.
Underrated Fire Types should be next.
Glad to see Cherrim and Bellossom getting some love in this! Fantastic grass types for a playthrough run.
I agree. I've always gone to bat for Cherrim time and time again and at least, hopefully, this might help Cherrim get some respect.
Never thought of it until this video but I wonder why Gloom was given a split evolution but Weepinbell wasn't? It would've given more use to the newly introduced Sunstone.
I always thought that too, and had the same feelings to pinsir. I feel the two are left out and ignored when compared to scyther and gloom.
Dude so true I thought the same thing. I kinda wish sudowoodo was better or another form. I low key wanted it on my team but I had no use for it.
2:57 you forgot Alolan Exeggutor.
Yes! YES! Vileplume win! Love seeing some Vileplume recognition.
My fave Pokémon of all time
@@Baby_Tap same
The issues with Zarude is it's typing and how its another Grass Monkey in the same generation as Rillaboom, a Grass Monkey Starter
Could you do steel type next? I think it would be fun.
(Also i hope lurantis would get more recognition.)
Scovillain was worth adding in this list . Chlorophyll ability and grass and fire type is so busted in my opinion. Just pair it with drought ability Pokemon and see it destroy Everything.
I did the same thing wiped through most the game with it.
5:07 yes sap sipper is my favourite move! The change from ability to attack really helped! (Sarcasm)
Vileplume gets a one turn solar beam, plus stab sludge bomb, can also use Moonblast for coverage, as well as sleep powder, leech seed, & sap sipper.
not sure if you remember me from back in the day, but just leaving this comment to say you're killing it with the content man!
Cherrim is legit one of my favorite pokemon. Even ignoring the stats and stuff, just design wise, and how it gets stronger in sunlight, is really cool
I like this video and the way it’s edited, but i wish the number transitions faded a little smoother like the other videos. Perhaps you’re pushed for time, but I think it would look smoother 😊 great job on this series though 😄
You could've at least given a jumpscare warning before you put that picture of Shiinotic up on the screen 😭
I used a spring form sawsbuck in my first playthrough in violet in all honesty he was very formidable!
An underrated grass type video is perfect for Earth Day and spring!
Tangrowrth
Sawsbuck
Trevanant
Gouregist
Victreebel
Hisuian electrode
Roserade are my favourite grass type Pokemon.
I loved Vileplume as a kid. He was creepy to me for reasons I can't explain. Easily one of my favourite grass types and never failed to mop the floor with any water or ground types that crossed my path. The fact he had a Southern accent in his debut episode only cemented my love for him.

Dude I used it in Pokemon go a lot. Just did sleep powder, mega drain, growth and razor leave. Left out solar beam because it didn't hit as much.
Appletun is one of the most fun Pokemon to come out in recent generations.
I will always love victreebell, but mostly because I swept against a good friend with it while they didn't expect it. I ran swords dance leaf blade, poison jab and leech life haha
I’d really like bug types next
Hello, you are a really nice TH-camr that helps me with anything in scarlet and violet!
Sawsbuck was my ace in Scarlett. I never played B/W so this was my first game it was available. Appletun was my tank in Shield. Shiinotic was my sleepy sweeper in Sun. I love grass types!
Ice type gets the least love but when it comes to knocking out dragons it's got that down pat.
Also flying and grass
Flying type next?
In my let's go Eevee team Vectoribell was a monster 😊
Electric types if this hasn't been done yet. :D
Love the video and keep up the great work
Thanks, I was sad that you hadn't mentioned sawsbuck and I thouight you weren't going to. Sawsbuck is one of my favourites!
Like last time, still waiting for underaated ghost types like Haunter overshadowed by their evolution or pokemon like Trevenant that dont have much of a following

Hey I am loving your videos, I would like to see ghost type next
I thought eldagoss was a jumpluff variant
That back massage and BoxLunch a Venusaur gets tho 😮💨
Whenever I think of the combo of Groudon and Cherrim, I immediately think of Mysterial from Battle Revolution.
I used appleton in playthough with my monotype dragon in Pokémon Shield.
Shinotic I completely overlooked until the Crown Tundra Raid Max Raid Dungeons. It's one of the better mons to get for them, and one I will use in a future playthrough.
Every single time I hear “Chlorophyl” I think of Billy Madison lol.
Just had to say that. Anyway, keep making these videos MU!

Actually saw Appleton in a Dragon's only playthrough the other day... ngl it carried the run in the early stages.
Still wanting to see my Bugs come next. It would make sense now that you’ve covered grass. Just sayin lol
I used Vileplume on my Galar team!
i love vileplume its just a bit of a shame it is basicly a worse venusaur but now it atleast has a bit of a unique niche compared to venusaur with strenght sap
I had a Growlithe/arkanine in crystal with myganium. Pretty solid fire type
I think Meganium needs a look through. It may be the absolute worst starter ever, bar none... but it's still a starter, with the Stats and useful moves to match.
This was my first video. Really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to your future videos and checking our your past ones! Much love!
I absolutely agree that sawsbuck is highly underrated and sadly it’s normal/grass typing doesn’t help with that especially since I love it’s winter version more than others
Eldegoss in main game: doesn't do enough
Eldegoss in Unite: God
I usually always pick bulbasaur, but if I’m ever feeling cheeky and pick a different starter then I always find a good oddish.
I love Dhelmise, one of my favorite pokemon in general.
My most underrated grass type has Torterra :)
Hard for me to agree bc I love Tort, but you may be right lol he’s great
@@devilsadvocate8010 I was daying this because Mystic used to dunk on Torterra a lot I don’t think it’s underrated
@@UmbraStarWolf lol I just love the concept an so on of him
I wanted to use vileplume in a BD playthrough, but I caught a shiny budew right before the first gym.
Any bets he's going to have Poliwrath/Politoed as a unrated Water Pokémon.
Poliwrath maybe, but politoed is a rain setter in lower tears and used a ton in that scenario
It would be better if hisuian electrode is there in the list.
6:15 Every time I see Eldegoss I see granny Bellossom and I love it Bellossom is young dancer and Eldegoss is old and wise :P
I've had an interesting thought on Bellossom for some time now. 😱 👻 Underrated Ghosts! 👻 😱
Your outro has a glitch where it’s repeating the end. 🤨
GHOST DAMN IT!!!!

Cradily
I think the top 10 Underrated Grass types are 10, Appleturn 9, Gogoat 8, 7, Eldergoss 6 Zarade 5, Vileplume 4, victreebel 3,Bellossom 2, Cherium 1, Sawsbuck amd do Fire type next.
Fire Types next time?!
How about Rock type Pokemon?
I second this vote for Rock type
I used a Victreebell in HG up till lvl 70ish and it just never got any better. I tried. I really did.
Vileplume is actually such a good pokemon!
Cherrim was on Mysterio's Team together with a bunch of legendaries
Haven’t seen the video I love the grass type second fave, hoping victrebel is here
Heck yeah lol
I still sometimes confuse Vileplume as being a grass/dark type just because how dark the sprite for it was in gen 1 and 2 lmao.
Same.
I love both Vileplume & Bellossom🌸🪷🌹
I think you got the order wrong when talking about Sawsbuck, cuz Summer, Autumn, Winter, Spring makes a correct order x3
I almost beat my friends Cinderace with an Eldegoss and would've beaten to if i was prepared for quick attack so i have faith in its battling skills
Bro how often do you compete in Pokémon ?
I'm just now learning how to properly pronounce Roselia
Whats up with the last two minutes of the video replaying the deer info?
To be honest I swear Eldegoss looks like a 3rd stage cottonee
I really love Sawsbuck
It will never not bother me that Bellossom was not given the fairy type. I mean…. Look at it!!
You forgot about alolan exeggutor for grass dragon
Huh kinda thought there would be more like toedscruel arboliva maractus jumpluff sunflora megainium and leavanny
Best team pokemon fusions or just the best fusion mons?
Happy earth day 💐🌲🌵🌴🪴🌱
