On the one hand, we sorely need a LOT more romance-focused interactions. On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to digging for them every time the cursed pie menu thinks my sim would rather "Support facial hair" or "Ask if mermaid" on their sexy date 🙄
Literally have to pause the game just to find interactions before the sims walk away from each other
@@jackiedoesntcare That's why the pause function exists? You are meant to pause>queu>play it out> watch> pause> readjust queu> play it out> pause... etc...

TwistedMexi released a mod for searchable interactions if you use mods. Literal game changer.
The pie chart just shows related interactions to the last social interaction you used before, when first pulled up. If no interactions were used prior, then it will give a general interaction for random categories to get you started. If you hit 'more' (usually at the top) it will show you a complete list of interactions, sorted by type, then subcategories. So for example, pull up the wheel> More choices> Romance> From there you can choose between flirt, affection, and physical interactions.
If an interaction isn't listed anywhere, then it isn't available for the sims you are using to converse with each other. For example, you won't find Woohoo options for minors, or romance interactions for aromantic sims, and you won't find fight options for sims you have no bad relations with, unless it's brawl day.
@wickywickyjoka let me explain it in a nicer way since you're new here. I've seen the interactions a million times. When sims are speaking and building relationships I'm queuing up interactions while the current ones play out. You only have space for a handful in the que and they don't take 10 minutes to play out while you search for the next relevant interaction. Hope that helps!

The cafe pack looks like a 20s/30s café, probably that pack destination is Paris. We don’t have “France” yet in game …

I wouldn't include my wedding stories, if not for the fact that it's not an expansion, then for the fact that it's not playable.
But, all of these packs came out way before this major shift in politics and the risks for releasing ANY media whatsoever weren't so high.
I'll tell you how they're going to upsell a game pack's worth of content as an EP again; they're counting on the new generation of Simmers who have never known the joys of the previous iterations of the franchise to dive in head first and be blown away by the aesthetic of it.

I remember when I first started playing the sims 3 and I was flirting with this male sim, and it said "break up with Heather" who was his wife, so I pressed it and the next day the male sim liked me but his now ex wife hated me, we don't get that sorta detail in the sims 4, not even loyal sims in create a sim..dang

The sims series is for kids above 12 years old. So basically all games are for kids, even if they have some dirty jokes and scenes.
My genuine assumption looking at the map is it's about to be a Hotel/Resort pack.
They clearly have the framework for it now, and that's the only thing I can see leading to EXPANSION PACK levels of content.
yeah that's definitely a possibility they could use the rental lot system and just slap on a hotel sticker and boom new expansion and with how lazy they are I can see that happening

Yeah especially because you couldn’t make residential rentals on beach front lots, so I think they saved that functionality for a resort pack
I think it'll be the French Riviera. The whole roadmap looks very underwhelming, especially after the leaks.
The bar/café kit definitely is inspired by Paris Bistro. You see that style of furniture in Parisian cafes quite often and is considered traditional.
Also, Paris is considered the city of love which makes totally sense in a romance themed roadmap.

What’s in a romance expansion pack? Well, let’s see… they’ve already covered engagements, weddings, compatibility, found a ring calls, crushes, fated mates… and while they may have only sort of covered honeymoons this roadmap seems to focus more on the meeting/dating end, so…. online dating and… uh… horoscopes? My Dating Stories, which takes the base game date event and breaks it? 🤷🏼♀️
Maybe they’ll at least add the heart bed for real this time 😂

I disagree. Horse Ranch is a good expansion pack. A lot of useful n versatile build/buy. A big world. It has more than horses, it also has goats n sheep which I love. And also brewing gameplay. It could be better, but that can be said for every expansion/pack

What’s annoying is that they keep releasing packs that we already have…why does it take 4 packs to give us the equivalent of a sims 3 expansion pack that only cost 20dollars. I feel like the sims team considers bugs as extra content as we get plenty of those in each new pack.
It's a Playboy expansion pack - Playboy Mansion, Hef's Grotto, skimpier swimsuits, & God knows what all everybody got down to in that place as "flirty".

- a new world based off of Paris or Rome
with hotels
where sims can go on a honeymoon
- around 3 new woohoo locations such as fountain, pool, sea
- one-sided crushes and other sims flirting up and pursuing my sim cause I'm bored of having to initiate all the time, including stuff like a secret admirer, an annoyingly persistent suitor and receiving gifts and love letters (like in the Sims 2 after successful dates), especially my teen sim when they open their locker
- an attraction system - would have been great tied together with a High School Years popularity system but that ship has sailed
- childhood crushes
- online dating
- matchmaker career
- heart bed and heart tub.
But it's probs far from what it will actually be
I can't possibly imagine what romance-related stuff can be as big as expansion-size worthy.
Right? If anything it should have been a game pack. Since as we know the new worlds are mostly set dressing with only very few plots that are interactive.
At this point Strangerville qualifies as an expansion pack since it comes with Audrey II (lil shop of horrors) possessing a town that is a larger and much nicer world. It would be a better expansion pack then the last few.

Theyre definitely doing a Parisian world, and then I'm getting Trevi Fountain in Rome from the "fountain of desire" part. And it makes sense because both are locations associated with romance. If so, there's a good chance those packs will focus on the cultural aspects since both of them are very well-known tourist destinations.
At least, that's kind of what I'm hoping for. If not then I'm tired and will ignore everything this "season"

I'm definitely thinking the world that will come with the romance expansion pack will be Paris/France inspired. Notice in the middle of the map there is an arch which looks very similar to the Arc de Triomphe. The cafe/bar is definitely giving Paris bistro too. Also Paris=Romance.

Teacher here: Going to correct you on the learned helplessness theory a little bit. You got the gist, where someone does give up when trying something difficult. It's more geared towards the idea that they'll give up because they've learned that is benefits them to do so when someone else steps in. "If I act helpless, eventually someone else will do it for me" is the thought process behind it. I've seen plenty of students with this and it is a beast to overcome.
Also a teacher and I hate it when I encounter a child who does this. I once had a girl who literally refused to do anything unless I ‘helped’ her, which for her meant doing it for her. I told her I’d only help her once she put in some effort herself and explained to me how far she’d got and what she was stuck on, at which point she’d start screaming that I was so mean and awful because I wasn’t helping her, and wouldn’t stop (screaming and disturbing the others) unless (a) I did her work for her, which I wouldn’t, or (b) she was removed from my class. She didn’t learn a single thing that year and both she and her parents hated me (her parents also expected me to enable her because, well, guess where she’d learned the helplessness from). It was the worst class I’d ever had, purely because of that one child.
@@HerHollyness Parents can be the worst part of the job sometimes, honestly! Sadly it sounds like she will have a rough time overcoming that hurdle, unless she manages to find someone willing to do things for her for the rest of her life.
Also had a grade two parent complete an entire project I assigned for their child. I could tell. It's like.. congrats on getting an A in grade TWO science when you're what, 40? Please!

I was just talking about this to a friend of mine last night. I shared some screenshots from Wicked Whims (a smexy mod for those who don't know) and the difference between the mod and the vanilla intimacy (not the smex/woohoo) is like night and day. With WW, sims behave like a normal couple, they hug and cuddle, they embrace and get close to each other when they smooch and just genuinely look like they're deeply in love with their significant other.
With Vanilla, it is the most sexless with little to no chemistry between couples I have ever seen. The animations were awkward and janky, there's a gap between the couple large enough for the holy spirit. Some vanilla animations are nice, but they're just too safe, too waterred down.
Given how poorly they handled "dating" in TS3, seriously my sim was like getting "matches" with every NPC in town regardless of marital status, love letters and gifts in the mail with no option to turn down the suitor or to tell them to bugger off. I am very concerned that this "my first woohoo" is on the horizon.
I really appreciate the honesty and don’t think your being negative. It’s the truth and maybe with the competition coming out, they could start pulling their heads out their asses.

one of my favourite aspects of the sims 2 nightlife was that you had interactions that you could do sitting at a dinner table (eg. holding hands, sharing a bite, etc.) and i would LOVE for these to be added into this 'romance' pack
I'm curious how they're defining a "destination" pack. Is is going to bring a new world? Or will it just have some new furniture? In my head a "destination" sounds like a vacation world. But that's a lot to fit in a single kit. All kits so far has brought a couple of objects or cas items and that's all. Only Bust the Dust really added some gameplay. I don't see that changing.
Is it just me or does the two little "rhymes" 'A little nectar led to a provocative plunge' and 'Fountain of desire made waves but we woohoo'd anyway' sound like we are getting some new woohoo spots?

I'm thinking/hoping the world is going to be Mexico-inspired, looking at the arched windows, roof and door trim, diamond designs, and colorful banners. The vibes of the roadmap and the architecture don't say Paris AT ALL to me. *Maybe* Italy or Iberia. Hotels being included could make it a decent expansion pack, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

We still need carnivals/roller coasters pack, a world adventures expansion pack, a real estate pack with a city like new York, CARS and HOTELS. yet we are still getting random expansion packs like get rent that suck and have content worth of stuff packs and are rebrands of old packs they couldn't get right.

I reckon it's probably mainly online dating with a rabbit hole style of chatting to the other person and maybe some rabbit hole interactions e.g. a tunnel of love or sth. My guess is there's some kind of carnival area with a few different stands and stuff all related to romance somehow with a few rabbit holes spread throughout (you go on a ferris wheel and when it reaches the top a prompt asks if you wanna try kissing your significant other) or something like that. For some reason I see the pack having some sort of italian-esque designs for the worlds buildings with colorful houses

dang sims 4.... they should've put all these "packs" and expansions into sims 3... they gave up on sims three after 5 years and they gonna pump out stuff for sims 4 for 20 years...
The cafe/bar is def a French cafe to go with the romance vibe and the mediterranean goes with a lot of pool themes and romance.

The panic and annoyance that, that alarm sat off in my entire nervous system, cannot be left uncommented.
I know what provacotive plunge is-- a pool being a woohoo spot! I think we might be getting more realistic plants, and don't complain about the gardening, even though it is buggy, it is one of my favorite parts of the game. I wish plants in real life would grow as fast as they do in the Sims. Looking at some of the furniture of the kits, I think they are either going for an Italian theme or a New Orleans theme--which I think they should have done with Willow Creek--are they going to refresh Dine Out??? The nectar reference and the new kit items are for a cafe, so it would be really great if they did that---well we can wish can we?
