I think this is the best example of character expectation vs reality for Hohenheim; in the beginning we see him as uncaring and distant but in reality he shows his kindness and true depth of humanity by giving each person in the stone the time, attention and decency they deserve. One of the main reasons he is my favorite in this series
6:02 remember when hohenhiem first met izumi and he asked her what she lost in exchange for learning the truth? He starts mumbling go himself "i see, i see" then he says "im sorry" before sticking his hand inside her. He was likely speaking to the souls inside him and consulting a medical professional, then he said sorry because he was going to be using up a soul to heal izumi after rearranging her organs.
So, class, what have we learned? That's right! Bradley > Tank. Truly the avatar of war. Also, "Do they really expect me to make a complete mockery of myself by entering through the back door of my own palace?" is such a badass line to deliver before going to town on your opps.
You know you're a badass when you can deflect bullets, split an anti-tank bullet in half, make a tank run away, and is still able to scare the Briggs soldier while being way past your glory days and still have his eye patch on
When Fu shows up you know it’s going down! Poor Buccaneer. But him using his muscles to hold the sword was so bad ass! I love Buccaneer so much. Next ep is of course intense. I can’t wait.
Buccaneer, Falman, hell- all the Briggs troops are insanely brave to go against their government and the insanely strong seemingly unbeatable man that is Bradley.
Hohenhein felt so bad he made sure the learn every single name of the souls he helped kill, talked with them, learned who they were and what they liked and disliked. The became their friends. He hated what he had become and the cost of it.
I always get a smile when the episode ends and you want more, I remember that when I first watched the series years ago. I almost see alchemy shit being a good partner to space shit.
Hoenheim didn’t use up many souls in that exchange, I believe the only ones he used were the names he just listed. He’s still got hundreds of thousands!
The homunculi actively discourage letting souls express individuality PRECISELY because their voices constantly wind up in the heads of the homunculus. For them it is easier if there are no voices at all and that the minds of these souls degenerate into silence from no longer being perceived as humans. Essentially these voices are forced into a state of learned helplessness from despair. Only someone with a strong will like Ling can resist that and force greed to acknowledge him as human, or in Bradley’s case regain control or in the case of Hoenheim, are allowed to let them speak at the potential cost of his sanity, which is a real danger. Imagine being immortal but having the possibility of losing all that benefit to immortality by becoming incurably insane.
Angela, here's a list of more FMA-related stuff you can watch after FMAB is over: - The FMAB bloopers - The 4 FMAB OAVs (extra episodes adding some lore) - The "4-koma theatre" funny ultra-shorts - "The Sacred Star of Milos" FMAB sort-of-spinoff movie, as it takes place "somewhere" within the FMAB timeline, the Elrics reaching a strange city in the west. (mid?) - The whole FMA 2003 series (51 episodes. Somewhat slower, darker and with a bit less coherent writing, but still an interesting "what if" story with its own merits. It was very acclaimed before FMAB came out. I'm still fond of it.) - "The conqueror of Shamballa" movie (adds a second ending to the 2003 series. Makes 0 sense without watching that series first). - FMA 2003 had a few OAVs too, although some of them are a bit strange. (And some have to be watched only after the Shamballa movie). - The three live action FMA movies. (Meh?) I hope you may react at least to some of them. And of course we would like an FMAB cliffhanger reactions montage! ^_^
I am so torn on the 2003 version. I kinda prefer its pacing and darker tone, but the difference in the story is waaaay weaker. Even though the dark ending somehow fits the story well. FMAB is simply so coherently written that you just can't argue with it.
@@avaDD Well, if one would really want to start being nitpicking, it's possible to find various unclear plot points in FMAB, too (e.g. why doesn't Greeling fully transform in this episode, but will do it in a few ones? Wrath's sword did not seem capable of cutting his ultimate shield.). Of course, in general FMAB story is more coherent due to following more closely the manga, which was written by one person, instead of the 2003 anime which had multiple writers. But FMAB and even the manga are not "perfect" to a close inspection. However, I like all of them.
20:14 the souls are fused to hohenhiem and "fathers" souls respectively. He just literally shed his skin. I watched anime growing up but my brother didn't. Last year I had him watch some with me. We had to schedule times for our anime watching but I told him he was gonna wanna make time for the last chunk of episodes cause he's not gonna wanna stop.
And here we are, the Man who Ascended.... a flight of stairs among other things. See, most of the Sins are Ultimate this or that and here's Bradley's: He's the Ultimate Human, not the Ultimate Eye. It's not brought up in the story directly but it's hard not to see what's going on, especially as it happens after Father's declaration of becoming the perfect being. Bradley is weak... no, really. He's more human than monster as being Wrath is more of a side gig for the man. Which brings us to Greed, the OTHER human homunculus but this one is more monster than human. Greed has an identity unlike Wrath, one that sees itself as demonic. Obvious symbolism is still symbolism. So at this point of the story, we have the fallen angel/devil meeting the rising ape. Greed even starts at a higher position to nail the point in a little deeper. It has nothing to do with the Elrics, has everything to do with the story, isn't that weird yet awesome? BECAUSE it also parallels Father and Hohenheim, literally two side of the same coin, one who was fully human, one who was fully... not. Who became one yet two yet Legion. And then it gets complicated. Because of course it does.... still has nothing to do with the Elrics.
I hope you slow down with the last few FMAB reactions cus if you're like the rest of us you won't be able to handle waiting til the reaction videos come out to wanna talk about it with everyone
You know you're badass when a tank runs away from you lol

Imagine how much scarier Bradley would be if he was at the peak of his youth.
or been travelling, likely without rest, across half the country since his train was blown up.
and regeneration ability like his "siblings".
@@atipruzlan regeneration not even needed, Author has said straight that Prime Bradley would have ended the opposition if he was here.
King Bradley is the Deathstroke of Fullmetal Alchemist.
I also LOVE that ling and greed are switching back and forth so naturally

I’m amazed you’ve been able to do a two a week schedule. The end is such a rush. When I watched this I couldn’t help but binge the thing so quickly.

FULL. THROTTLE. It doesn't stop. Also when Fuu enters, it's just so awesome.

“Bradley looks bored”…he also looks a lot like Tom Sellek😆
24:13 JEALOUS! But also super excited for you! I want to save up for the Fullmetal edition volumes 😁

Fuhrer Bradley is so badass, he’s one of my favorite villains of all time!

Remember he knew all the souls inside him, made "amends" with them one might say... Father of course looks down on humans and couldn't care less.
Fu's last line in the episode is so damn cool
I love the Xingese Ninja entrances, they just don't know how to do things without style.

Seeing your reactions to the end of each episode, I think you, nor anybody here can blame me for binging the last 20 episodes in a single night :D
this episode goes so hard at every moment
Hohenheim is such a great character in the show.
The next episode is one of my favorites to watch a reaction to, minus a few last episodes and when you see Scar’s backstory and motivations.
King Bradley (Wrath) was a beast in this episode, especially when he fights Greed (Ling), and Bunconeer all at once without getting hit once!
This might be the time in the series where you start doing two at a time lol
greedling!! (im going to comment this in every reaction that have greedling in it XD)
The king bradley fights are my favorite of the ending.
what a funny lil gal
Yes, these last episodes really milks the action, plot, everything out for optimum rage when an episode ends.
Hoo baby, I bet you loved this one. Let's find out!
wrath vs greed rematch
The end is nigh get the tissues ready
