Wow, the bushing is split for easy installation, NICE!
Here I am waiting for my bushing in the mail, and I was about to remove the entire steering to slide the new bushing onto the shaft. Thanks for the video!

Yeah the split bushing makes all the difference!

John Pegram one of the easiest jobs. Just two bolts.
      3:55 is some good tips..
when I did mine, I didn’t grease the bushing and I tightened the bolts too tight. My steering was super stiff. Tomorrow I will pull it back off, grease the bushing and not tighten the bolts as much

Thank you. My steering just suddenly started rattling, and I figured a bolt was loose or a bracket was broken, but when I started looking at the steering rod I realized that most likely a bushing was missing, so I came to You Tube and found your video. This appears to be a repair I can make myself, which will save me the 25 mile trip to the dealership as well as the $$$$ they charge to do anything.

I have a 90 Honda 300 fourtrax that I have been noticing for a while now that same bushing falling apart. Yesterday it fell completely out. I ordered my new bushing today and just started looking on utube for this video. Thanks so much for it. I'm sure it will definitely help.

Bro I had this exact issue come up today and I got on TH-cam hoping that somebody else had done the replacement AND filmed it. Mine is a 1996 trx300 that just started the wobble and clank back and forth. Thanks to you I will save some green stuff and fix it myself and not take it to a mechanic. Thanks again bud! Vid was excellent and good on you for letting your son help. Takes a man to teach a man.

Thanks for the video, I have an 86 4 Trax 350 that just developed this problem. Local dealer won't work on it anymore because it is "too old". When you're on your own, it's nice to find a friend!

Thanks for the vid... someone else posted one and he took one bolt out but just loosened the other... then used channel locks to squeeze clamp together to start the bolt... cheers

Pretty sure this is the issue on my father in laws rancher. The bushing either needs lubed or is too tight. Gonna give this a shot. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for this, it's great to know how to do this.
BUT, the steering shaft on my 2001 Fourtrax is really stiff, besides this upper bushing, does anybody have any thoughts on how to replace the lower bushing or bearing ? ( I'm not even sure if it IS the lower busing yet either.)

i found it a lot easier if you take the gas tanks off. you just kave to take the seat off and there is a single bolt, and make sure you turn off and disconnect the gas line

use silicon grease on it the regular grease will deteriorate (break down) the rubber grommet much quicker
