That center tierod plate that connects to the steering shaft. I'm guessing its splined right there (first time disassembling one). I got the nut off fine., but the plate is not sliding down. Even pried at it. I was originally able to change the right side tiedrod but the left one rounded off and Im either going to have to try a nut splitter with I had to order or get that plate off where I can put a pipe wrench on it
Mine really came off that easy, no editing. Not sure why yours might be stuck. If you can get a box wrench on it and a pipe for extra leverage it should break loose. If you can get the nut red hot, that always helps. Unless someone stripped it on there, which is unlikely.
Here is the kit that I used: www.ebay.com/itm/271944647098?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item3f512a01ba:g:k7kAAOSwdp1g0Y0A&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACsPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsSlHY%252FYTip4QFVjNQrCEJt6mJUcjbl9jaT8t720nlMXWxlehBPTklBljcjCTuJd1xt2YWez3cykNnWdFyA0d7icFORoVVvR3EpjGG%252BFlRHB91EDu%252BOxAb2CzxVppCxSdfWcSNnSnrqMHamhmUbcZYgOmqNnF4PAItuMzzHkArAhlLwr6qADI8lBPv3%252FvguGrKkL39CT7kEIhppiacqaZ2rmd2cfu0Kb2SHRHXoISlSt3DkPUri8JaOph2ABYWMcC7HnuFC0na8YAkmLYqmNz4AwyMm8HNhnmf88CUqvLWjQey51ZhRcZ79RjcOiMAgcg8gk%252BVUlFZMrSRW6k1RBp2zjxida0iJn92sc9as1szC12iQ8loCzmJMKXxrmM0kB%252B%252B7MVgqcwuOIcXkP1IG6RoIKAQMa8%252BoW5%252BQmlawADvfbJxVxcLk6816Aj1koKsQxuSJC7ZHrBjKBzSRhauRkhKT7OpiEh0rAmsjMoZd7P%252BU9mYNZ%252BASv1504CwIZXiHEHBxajoZB%252FOkCpxl6HzboFr8y036Qo8oQHy5W7Lz79fgeDf2aGvRFQ%252FjCGcLvOWy%252FpGZZKlVA8OgPtMTBA3C3WxfOGiCU0JOrj04QCane4EA1O4eXM9lOD1xfmRq%252FPVeft241XIPVudV3T55sTxIj3SeFfQxeCjKHhHTNKZJtgcv6uNq876eJYbGlrHa93Lt5ztnG4ZwufX5ggNT7APtikDj66MU2bSMVIQuxJX15%252FBK%252F0E8zSBR5%252FSMeBGUUun%252FSqZQ%252FSCy9hWkUOLL4EV0%252B9M9atIhH%252BgssEjQ6M1L87Cy2bUwi5e7gsJDZAZERnuQ2%252FQxqg9EdXl7rSSd%252FNgf%252BC9lDXcHNomZfFoq5BSCj%252BFGqkA%253D%7Cclp%3A2334524%7Ctkp%3ABFBMgIaTvOhf
Very informative. Just had my new ones delivered for a 98 Foreman 400fw plowing quad. Looks like the same setup as yours 👍👍
Thank you so much, Dave. This was very informative and will help me with my machine.
@@awkerper you’re welcome 👊

I even used heat but that nut is just too rounded and couldn't get a grip
How on earth did you get the 7/8 castle nut off that easy? Mines stuck and I’ve tried so many liquids, blow torch, extra leverage, etc.

Can you please give a link for the tie rods?
