      @Just think alternative sources. Why not wait and see to find out instead of opposing? We see what’s wrong with leaving things as they are and humanity is going in another direction. BTW, the world doesn’t care what Biden and 4.7% of the population do. China, India, and Europe are leading the world in Ev’s.

      @Just think no faith in solar or wind? ‘No’ is not a policy or governing stance. The world is moving forward w/o American knuckle draggers. I’ve owned every luxury suv short of a Cullinen and I’m buying an e-tron. Not spending 100k over a vehicle life on fuel to prove I’m a patriot.

    The average range is balanced by how fast it can charge at a DC fast charger.

    • @PatrickTio888
      @PatrickTio888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately the electrify america chargers I’ve used are mostly running 30-40% of advertised speeds making DCFC charging about 90min. I have been able to charge at the full 150kw and those times are amazing. It’s unfortunate that EA isn’t supporting their chargers like Tesla is.
      It just sucks to go on a road trip, plan out your route and find that the chargers along the route will now take 90 min versus 30. Also doesn’t help on a road trip the range drops to about 170ish per charge.

    • @Neojhun
      @Neojhun 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah sorry you don't seem to understand the math. A BEV with better single charge Range also means more effective DC Fast charge. It means Mile per Minute charge rate is better. You do not just consider the Kwh or Battery Percentage on it's own. The amount of distance per time is what we want in practice.

    • @TheNacropolice

      Personally as a possible EV buyer in the future I want to charge less. It is like telling me "well it doesn't matter that your car can only go 200 miles because its tank is small, you refuel faster". Ummm, I would rather refuel LESS not MORE when I go on a trip

    Great review! Looking at this to replace my Tesla Model 3 LR AWD. After owning 2 Tesla long range cars for two years now, I completely agree. You don’t need more than about 200 miles of range...175 is plenty. I do frequent trips of 600 miles plus in my Tesla. During that time, I’ve tracked how often I stop for various things...food, rest area, stretch, etc...It’s about every 1.5 hours. That’s about 160 miles at most. As long as there are places to charge, it’s plenty.

    The E-Tron is a huge success for Audi - yes it's too heavy, the battery plus luxury and good build quality. The ride is very smooth its a great glider. Batteries must be developed further like the new Quantum tech - that would shrink the battery weight dramatically by much higher energy density. Still charging time is an issue - which is the Audi´s best party trick, a problem for all EV´s. For long distances they are not there yet for me - none of the EV´s. My wishlist, better battery and charging tech! Lower weight, light batteries, charging time at least by half...well not this year I know

    • @bavariancarenthusiast2722

      @Just think That's a political question, that does not help, the US is way behind in production of renewal energy - like below 20% which is a shame for the great country. But you are right if they keep their fossil energy dependency that high - EV´s don't make that big of a difference, but they are still more efficient than ICE cars. We need to get out of burning oil for producing energy. There are many states already which produce half of their energy with renewals, that has to grow.

    • @bavariancarenthusiast2722
      @bavariancarenthusiast2722 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Just think I don't want to burst any bubble here. We need renewal energy much more than now, burning fossil is not sustainable, Many countries over here use renewable energy - Norway tops with always 100%, that is the dream country of EV´s.

    • @bavariancarenthusiast2722
      @bavariancarenthusiast2722 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Just think I don't care about politics - not on a global scale, Paris accord is the intention to go in the right direction but don't force anything, so falls short but it's a first at least. I am talking pure science. We need more renewal, we in europe are behind too - but the US is a different story.

    • @bavariancarenthusiast2722
      @bavariancarenthusiast2722 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @bavariancarenthusiast2722 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Just think Windmills are build here in Germany / Europe, not China, rare earth is sparse, but they develop around it, constantly maintained and updated of course - but they are not the answer for renewal, they are just one smaller part. The Energy mix is hydro, Wind, Solar etc. etc. Fossil is not the future and dirty, we all globally need to get rid of it. Think out of the box light having solar farms in the deserts, delivering hydrogen to us, that would make sense too. Also nuclear is the bridge technology. There is cold fusion on the horizon. Our innovation will show us where to go. Just EV is also not a solution for now, does not work. May also we will see hydrogen cars more and more - or the battery technology is leapfrogging it - exciting times!

    It's not a cage fight of EV vs. EV. It's a fight for buyers of any vehicle. Tesla isn't competing with other EV's, it's competing with ICE or EV. Tesla isn't going to concern itself with limited marketshare from another low volume EV when it needs to grow production to replace 94,000,000 ICE vehicles made each year. After 26,000 units production of Audi e-tron Sportback was shutdown in April 2020 due to lack of batteries. Tesla made 500,000 cars.

    They cannot sell these in volume and make money on them. They have too low margins, and they cannot find batteries for millions of cars. Only Tesla can do this in the next two years.

    Another VW "Tesla killer" Surely under performing, over priced, definitely over rated. Na, I will take definitely a tomorrow's Tesla today, and definitely not a yesterday Audi with a new skin.
