I would paint the island the same colour as your hutch

And maybe add a little of the shiplap to pull the hutch design down a bit. But it looks beautiful now as it is too!
Yes agree, paint your island the same charcoal color of your hutch. Also, maybe add some remote control lights for the inside of your hutch. Thanks for your video. You do amazing work.

I was thinking that exsct same thing! Like minds. I love that color too. I'm thinking of going with something like that but with a bit of brown gray for bottom cabinets. They get beat up from 2 dogs and husband. Going a couple shades lighter for uppers. They are now pale grey with a bit of warmth and I don't like the color. Her hutch is very pretty and I love the color, the island would be perfect in that shade. IMO too.
I am new to your channel,I will say that sometimes you forget the little changes can make a big impact.

I love both of the globes, but the new ones are my favorite. I love how the hutch looks with the shiplap, I think it would look great with lights inside too. Your videos inspire me, love them and look forward to them!
I’ve been thinking about adding lights!
I like both lights but this is what I’ve learned watching Jamie’s Journey. Dust is more noticeable on clear glass. Unfortunately, I can’t do clear glass. My house was built in the mid 60’s and I feel like it’s always dusty no matter how often I clean! I’m sure I need to get my ducts cleaned! 😁

I love how you added wood back into your kitchen. Wood gives off cozy vibes to me. All of the door trim, baseboards, and kitchen cabinets in my house are stained a beautiful color that are original to when the house was first built and I love it!

I think the quarter round makes the island look “finished”. It didn’t look bad before. 😄 I also like the new pendant globes. Crazy how little changes changes the room and makes us happy.
That’s exactly what I was trying to accomplish in this video- small easy projects that can update a space without crazy demo/reno.
I like the round shade on the pendant because of all the straight lines in the cabinetry and arch. They soften it up.

Definitely prefer the round Ikea globe. The cylinder globe mimics the same shape of the cabinets/doors, and the round globe is a great shape contrast in the kitchen, and that contrast follows when you look from the kitchen into the family room. Love the addition of wood to the back of hutch. Really looks great.
Exactly! I’ve been feeling like my house is all straight lines and rectangles/squares so I’m trying to add more curves. Got a few projects coming up that will help with that.
I like the textured light better. The kitchen is fantastic. You had the same cupboards, I have. So, now I know I will paint my cupboards white. I love your kitchen!

Kelsey, if you decide you want to add some color to the pendant globes, Krylon makes spray paint for glass. This would give you another option, and it comes in a variety of colors.
That’s exactly what I was thinking. The custom of seeing the light bulb in a pendant is so over done. Painting half way down on the clear pendant would hide the bulb and give a nice accent. It would break up the white, white, white, while still giving a peek through.
Hey! I just discovered your channel. I love what you have done to your kitchen. The black hutch is a gorgeous addition. I think to help integrate that color more into the kitchen, would be to paint the hood above your stove and microwave and also paint the kitchen island the same color.

Round lights looks good and good job
Put some puck lights on the under side of the shelves in that hutch and boom, that would reallly pop!

I think I like the round one.
I have glass door upper cabinets and use peel and stick wallpaper and the difference is amazing. If I want to change the look, all I need to do is peel it off and apply a new pattern of wallpaper.

It’s good to see how to touch up your kitchen and home as it refreshes it and makes it look new! Also, I would suggest putting thick glass shelves in your hutch and then add lights so not only will it brighten the interior and able one to see the shiplap better but also add some lights to the top and your beautiful pieces will be showcased but it will also brighten up that area more!

For your hutch why not add some inside lighting. We got some lights from IKEA, used it for our vitrine in our living room, we love it when it is on. Great tips!

Both are pretty but I prefer your original fluted glass shade. The fluted pattern offers texture and interest.
You choose some very good products. Efficient, space-saving, and attractive. I do like the new Light Shade...but it does remind me of a fish bowl. Both are lovely. You are right...those are expensive. The quarter-round is perfect. Love working with PVC. I see you chose wood. I love shiplap...It just never gets old. I cheated and painted the back/inside of the cabinets white, then used a black felt pen to make the panel stripes. Looks great! Love your stuff. Cathleen

Thank you! Most of the cabinets are sherwin williams agreeable gray. The hutch is iron ore.
Love the clear one it dosen't stand out as much seeing the cieling isn't as high.
That’s what I was thinking too. I know big statement pieces are in style but they look better with really high ceilings- which unfortunately I don’t have. Gotta work with what you have.
Kelsey, You do a great job keeping up! How do you keep your calk from drying out in between projects?
Thanks! The caulk usually only dries out in the tip. If you take a paper clip or something like that and pull out the dried part, the caulk inside is good as new.

where are the old fluted pendant lights from? they are exactly what I've been looking for!
They are by studio McGee from target. They don’t sell them on target’s website anymore but you may be able to find them on eBay or something.

I painted one of my round cutting boards that I display against my backsplash for decor only but I feel like I need to protect the color… what do you recommend I protect it with? It’s a round wood board and I painted the handle black. Diy inspired by you 😁
