Well, no wonder I love Cetaphil Redness Relief so much! My 19 year old daughter, who has acne, loves it too. I bought it because of your recommendation from about two years ago. Thanks!
I had super bad hand eczema and your advice (plus a visit to a derm and a class I steroid) have almost completely repaired the barrier on my hands in a little over a month! Your advice is excellent, especially when it comes to preparing questions for Dr. visits and finding products that work.
The biggest things I started doing from this channel were using theraplex barrier balm after washing my hands, doing dishes, etc while they were still damp and after showering putting on either my steroid ointment or the cerave healing ointment then clean white cotton gloves (had the okay from my derm to sleep with the gloves over the steroid). The theraplex barrier balm was a huge win since it's much less sticky than vaseline, which the derm had recommended for the same use but it's occlusive enough to seal in moisture and protect my hands after an irritating hand wash or exposure. Recently also integrated the cicaplast balm she mentions in this video and it's been great for daytime use.
Here in Brazil panthenol became very popular in 2010s due to the natural hair movement, a lot of brands released hair care lines focused on it and other brands started to offer panthenol for a more accessible price. Now it’s way easier to find it as cream, liquid, lip balms, spray, etc.
I went crazy with exfoliation with PC BHA. My skin was red, inflammed, scaly, tight and more pimples formed. I knew my skin was compromised. I used Cicplast and next day my skin was so much better! Overnight healing literally-about 80% improvement.
I’m a skin care freak.. I have always wanted to have knowledge about the skincare in depth but never has anyone described the way you explain things in your video for free.. you are just god send!! also I’m from India, so I can’t even make a purchase from your links. That’s why I like and comment your videos.. the best I can do!! Thank you Doctor angel!!
The Ordinary Amino Acids and B5 made my face break out. But after watching this video I got an idea. I now use it on the dry, dull, frizzy top layer of my hair. A few drops messaged between my palms and patted onto the damaged hair area smooths out the frizz and makes my hair shiny.
Here I am, layering skincare hours before bed ☺️ (because Dr Dray recommended so!), applying hyaluronic acid serum and then panthenol, but mine isn't really fancy (it's apothecary one) 😁 I believe my skin absorbs everything better while I am watching these videos 😁 Lots of hugs from Austria 🥰
I had for YEARS used really bad skin products (physical scrubs, peel off masks, etc..). My face just became more and more irritated (I constantly looked flushed), but it was gradual, so I never noticed, and and I have always flushed when it was hot out/when exercising. It took a coworker printout how red my face was (in the dead of winter and not having worked out prior to work that day, so no "reason" for my face to have looked flushed) for me to actually notice it myself (and to see how dry my skin was too). That was only earlier this year. It's been 6ish months, and while my face is still a bit flushed, it's so much better. I immediately stopped with the scrubs and switched from a moisturizing lotion to a cream (with niacinamide). Major thanks to Dr. Dray for putting out these videos, I have learned so much, and I firmly believe that she/her videos saved my face.
I've been using the Etude House Soon Jung 2x Barrier Cream and it's been amazing for the night time. Has panthenol, Madecassoside, shea butter and sunflower seed oil. Such a perfect combo.
I just - just!!! - got La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 today (from Amazon). Great synchronicity! And, I was wondering about your thoughts on it. And, then, boom, I came online here! I'm getting over shingles, and I thought this might help.
I have been using Cetaphil Moisturising Lotion for my face and body. It has B5 (Panthenol) in it alongside some other simple moisturizing ingredients. It is the only moisturizer I've tried that hasn't irritated my skin. And cheap! I have rosacea and acne-prone sensitive skin for the reference.
My mom has rosacea and I recently got her the Cetaphil redness daytime and nighttime moisturizers. She’s been loving them and it’s calmed down her redness.
have you tried a caffeine serum ? Buy an inexpensive one from The Ordinary and use it across the full cheek area - it really reduced the redness for me. Also Niacinamide and Zinc should really help with the redness and inflammation (both can be used together, under moisturiser and spf etc)
My mothers face and chest skin was very damaged from her teen days sunbathing in the roof of her home with mirrors (that was a thing in the 70s) and I swear her skin has gotten way better only using sunscreen in the past 2 years. I am happy my nagging her to use it has shown great results. ✌🏻
Two I've found to be amazing is the Curel Intensive Moisture cream (Japanese version) and SoonJung 2x Barrier Intensive Cream from Etude House. The SoonJung cream's main focus is panthenol, while the Curel one is more glycerin/allantoin/squalane focused.
No wonder why the cream I was using healed my skin barrier so quickly after tretinoin irritated the skin around my mouth pretty badly. I just used Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream with colloidal oatmeal and ceramides. Panthenol is the third ingredient in this product. It has helped so, so much!
Using Bepanthen Anti Itch Cream and SensiDaily Moisturizer. The former, I think is superior but both are great moisturizer with Panthenol on the top of the ingredient list.
I put a few drops of the ordinary amino acid and Panthenol serum through my hair when it’s damp and let it dry . It’s so brilliant as it adds such a shine and makes my hair look so healthy
I myself love panthenol & centella asiatica. One of my faves that contains this is the Soon Jung Cica balm panthensoside. It’s so hydrating I calming but almost light and water gel type of moisturizer idk it’s fantastic and I love it. My skin is sensitive and has been acne prone and I do use tretinoin to combat the acne & anti-aging so this helps me so much. 💓
Nada Fadhil yes I LOVE The Cosrx propolis synergy toner and it’s so hydrating. I also enjoy the Etude House Soon Jung relief toner, the Good Molecules Niacinamide toner, the Laneige hydrating toner and those are the main ones I love.
Love this one. I use the la roche posay b5 Baume and I love it. Buy 2-3 to have on hand since my pharmacy is normally low. Thanks for another great video Dr. Dray.
Thanks Dr Dray for advice on dry, red, sensitive skin. Have started your regimen of CeraVe body cleansing plus many other items you speak about. After a couple weeks I can definitely see and feel improvement. Even my rosacea has calmed down. Your a 🌟 Star!
For those distancing yourselves from phenoxyethanol Etude House Soon Jung 5 Cica Balm has panthenol and centella and no phenoxyethanol. When I used the LRP version it was good for a while then it started to burn. I tried to use it on hand wounds and it burned them, too. The EH version is very creamy and soothing.

My skin is all messed up around my nose from Tretinoin. I bought the Cerave redness & it seems to help, but it will take awhile. Hard to find though. Thank you Dr. Dray for helping me.
Thank you Dr Dray! This video was so helpful. I have severe eczema/dermatitis and I've really been struggling with the eczema and redness on my face and neck. I've noticed the the LRP cicaplast baume is the ONLY product that takes some of that redness away. I wasn't sure what ingredient was helping but I think it might be the Panthenol. However I go through the tiny tube in 2 weeks, so I wondered what other products might work similarly, until watching this video. Can't wait to try these, thank you again!
“If you just have skin..” lol dr. You crack me up! Thank you for real though, I struggle to find a moisturizer that won’t break me out or make my acne worse.
I’ve been using Eucerin Baby wash and shampoo and the baby lotion ever since I saw it in one of your sensitive skin videos and my skin loves it!( just didn’t love the face mask everyday:( ) but the lotion has B5 in it too and it helps my rosacea.
I’m so fortunate. Because of you and my Dermatologist,I never had the peeling and dryness with the use of Tretinoin. I followed your advises… My skin is so soft and supple. I feels like a baby. I’m 56 and I have glass like skin. Can’t thank you enough! I just bought the Procure Rosacare Serum.I liked that it has licorice root in it too.
Happy Wednesday! I can vouch for both LRP Cicaplast B5 and the Cetaphil Night moisturizers . They are excellent if you have any skin irritation from Retin A . They work as described. Wonderful products .
I've been dealing with redness on my cheeks for a while. I spent a lot of time walking my dog in the wind and cold over the winter, so maybe that did it. I've always had some sort of malar type of rash for years. So I tried the La Roche Posay Cicaplast B5 Balm and I kid you not, my redness mostly resolved in two days. A little goes a long way. Thanks so much!
Thanks for making me love sunscreen. I'm really into it now because I'm a skincare junkie and now have a small but growing collection of products with SPF in them.
I took 3 courses of Accutane in my late teens and early 20s and my skin is always so incredibly dry now. I moisturize like it’s my full time job, but I still felt like nothing was helping as much as I needed. On your recommendation, I purchased the La Roche Posay Cicaplast balm and it’s the best. I finally found the product that feels like it’s helping to repair my skin. I use it all over my face at night and it’s making me so happy. Thank you!

Hi Dr Dray, would like to hear your thoughts on Sebamed Clear Face Gel. It's supposed to be great for acne prone and contains: Aqua (Water), Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Sodium Carbomer, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol.
Thanks so much for this! Per your recommendation, I started using the CeraVe Night Moisturizer and in two days I can notice a positive change. My skin was dry, irritated due to over exfoliation, and red. I think this is helping.
Panthenol is just amazing. I recently suffered from severe irritant contact dermatitis on both of my hands, tried various stuff, nothing helped. Then my mother recommended to just apply panthenol regularly and rest for some days and do nothing. And guess what, my hands got better the next day and the contact dermatitis went away pretty fast.

Recently also integrated the cicaplast balm she mentions in this video and it's been great for daytime use.
i'd leave the cotton gloves on overnight btw
@@kitkat1995032 thanks so much 🙏
Every single item in my cabinet is basically "Dr. Dray made me buy it."
Me too!
❤️❤️❤️ same
Same here. I don't trust anyone else on TH-cam.
💯 I'm so grateful for her! Saved me TONS already
themori3 Hyram is incredible too
Here in Brazil panthenol became very popular in 2010s due to the natural hair movement, a lot of brands released hair care lines focused on it and other brands started to offer panthenol for a more accessible price.
The plant is dancing in the background 🙃
Now that's all I'm looking at
I’m a skin care freak..
“If you have dry skin if you have oily skin, if you just have skin!” 😂
I bursted out laughing when she said that 😂😂
Sameeeee. Hahahha
😭😂😂😂😂
The Ordinary Amino Acids and B5 made my face break out. But after watching this video I got an idea. I now use it on the dry, dull, frizzy top layer of my hair. A few drops messaged between my palms and patted onto the damaged hair area smooths out the frizz and makes my hair shiny.
Wow thank you for this! This stuff makes me break out too and I wasn’t sure what to do with it this really helps :)
This stuff looks great! Thanks for commenting 😀
Brian P I will definitely look into them! Thank you for the info.
azelaic acid is very good for redness
I am loving Paula's choice omega plus serum. Now that I'm on the 0.1% tretinoin, I find this moisturizer lightweight yet incredibly moisturizing.
My mothers face and chest skin was very damaged from her teen days sunbathing in the roof of her home with mirrors (that was a thing in the 70s) and I swear her skin has gotten way better only using sunscreen in the past 2 years. I am happy my nagging her to use it has shown great results. ✌🏻
May I know what brand of sunscreen?
Bepanthen for me too
DML Forte, to this day, remains the BEST moisturizer I’ve ever used. Thanks again for the recommendation!!
Note to self, use products with: Panthenol, provitamin B5, Butanamide, Alpha Panthothenyl alcohol ☺️
I went to target today and spent so much longer trying to remember everything in your videos haha, thank you for the breadth of knowledge!
I put a few drops of the ordinary amino acid and Panthenol serum through my hair when it’s damp and let it dry . It’s so brilliant as it adds such a shine and makes my hair look so healthy
what's the brand?
@@talksolot the Ordinary amino acids serum it’s wonderful
@@dannyleeds1132 it's for skin, but you use it for hair and it works? great! i will try that too. thanks
do you use any hydrating toner? i have damaged my moisture barrier and looking for good toners :(
Nada Fadhil yes I LOVE The Cosrx propolis synergy toner and it’s so hydrating. I also enjoy the Etude House Soon Jung relief toner, the Good Molecules Niacinamide toner, the Laneige hydrating toner and those are the main ones I love.
Came here to recommend the Soon Jung range, glad you already had it covered! The Cica Balm is my fave product too, really underrated
Rowan Ezra yes absolutely love it!! ❤️
Do u use tretinion before moisturizer or after it ?
Love this one. I use the la roche posay b5 Baume and I love it. Buy 2-3 to have on hand since my pharmacy is normally low. Thanks for another great video Dr. Dray.
Thanks Dr Dray for advice on dry, red, sensitive skin. Have started your regimen of CeraVe body cleansing plus many other items you speak about. After a couple weeks I can definitely see and feel improvement. Even my rosacea has calmed down. Your a 🌟 Star!
Nivea cream is also good. It is really good for dry and sensitive skin. It has panthenol and glycerin in it
Are you referring to the fragrance-free version?
Because original Nivea is heavily fragranced, and we know how Dr Dray feels about fragrance...
Some other products with panthenol include:
Cerave Healing Ointment
Aveeno Ezcema Therapy Line
Aquaphor Healing Ointmemt
Eucerin Baby Lotion & Baby Cream
Cosrx Balancium B5 D-Pathenol Cream
Illiyoon Ultra Repair Lotion
Rovectin Barrier Repair Face & Body Cream
Thank you for this helpful tips, Dr. Gray. Hope you can make a video about hair color and henna for covering gray hair. How to protect hair from getting damaged from constant hair coloring?
Thank you in advance.
Love from Japan. 🇯🇵
She has videos on that. Search for them
@@luciagarcia5272 did Dr. Gray talked about Henna to cover gray hair?
My skin is all messed up around my nose from Tretinoin. I bought the Cerave redness & it seems to help, but it will take awhile. Hard to find though. Thank you Dr. Dray for helping me.
Happy Wednesday! Love your videos, been watching them daily!
Glad you like them!
I use Krave beauty’s great barrier relief when my skins looking red/ irritated. And I love it!
I’ve been using Eucerin Baby wash and shampoo and the baby lotion ever since I saw it in one of your sensitive skin videos and my skin loves it!( just didn’t love the face mask everyday:( ) but the lotion has B5 in it too and it helps my rosacea.
love the cetaphil redness relief, been using that one for months now. I can really tell it helps make my skin less red
Dr Dray, The Ordinary is about to release a new 100% powder Niacinamide product! I'd like to hear your thoughts on it!
I'm on their list to get it as soon as it's available...I'm excited!
That's too much
We don't need that
This is exciting omg
Sounds like it might burn.
omg, "if you have dry skin, if you have non oily skin if you just have skin these are also great" , best sentence ever
Yep, I like that one too and hopefully we all have skin! :-)
Love from Canada 🇨🇦.
Great video, needed.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Happy Wednesday!
You too!!
Hello Dr Dray !!Any product with Panthenol for hair that you would recommend please? Thank you!
Quickly became one of my fave youtubers! Super informative videos, great subtle humor, and you’re a hustler posting every single day 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨
I put retin-A on my neck last night. I feel like I have a terrible sun burn. Thank you for this information!
Thanks for making me love sunscreen. I'm really into it now because I'm a skincare junkie and now have a small but growing collection of products with SPF in them.
Seeing your mug 😄- My mind went straight to singing. "CAUSE WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS , RIGHT THIS VERY MINUTE"❤️
Christmas in July!
So far 2020 has been a trainwreck so we might aswell skip to december right now😂😂😂😂
I took 3 courses of Accutane in my late teens and early 20s and my skin is always so incredibly dry now. Thank you!
I have a super red flaky skin, and can I just say I’ve used an entire bottle of the amino acids B5 from the ordinary and I’ve never noticed a difference in my skin and the whole bottle is gone, wasn’t good for me.this video was very helpful tho!!! Thank you
I have lymphadema (my lymphatic fluids pass through my skin, not fun at all) and it has caused a lot of damage. I think this information will help me heal my skin.
Perfect timing! tretenoin is drying out of my skin a LOT and I haven't been able to figure out how to get it to calm down.
@ Monica Newton: I had this problem too and the LRP Cicaplast worked wonders.
Moisturize your skin while it’s damp I also use Tret and doing that has helped so much. I also use a little Shea butter on my skin sometimes and that works amazing with helping with dryness
Have you tried CeraVe?
Ceramides are great for strengthening the skin barrier.
LRP Cicaplast is great. I also use atopalm 10% panthenol cream. I used to feel tingling/heat on my face with tretinoin but with this cream I feel nothing and get no redness or irritation. Cosrx panthenol cream has good reviews but I haven't used it. It's also 10% panthenol.
@@franceskennedy2938 how do you use LRP with tret? As a buffer before tret or after? I've been using LRP Cicaplast for 5 years and still in love with it. I have acne prone skin. And I'm gonna start my first ever tret 0.05. I haven't even unboxed it lol as I'm quite nervous and (now) excited to see that cicaplast works wonder for tret users. TIA for answering my question :)
Thank you so much for this video! It was just what I needed. I am having a mild rosacea flare and damaged skin barrier due to using the wrong products. After watching this video I ordered the LRP Cica B5 balm from Target and picked it up in the afternoon. I used it last night and it provided so much relief! My skin feels so much better and looks less irritated after one use. I am using it again today under my sunscreen. Again, thank you!
Please do a video all about licorice root!! Love your content 😍💗
The amount of content u post is amazing... impressive . Idk how u do it.. of u work too thats insane !! Ur such a hard worker!
I hope you make it to one million soon, your advice has improved my skin tremendously Dr.Dray 🥺❤️❤️
hope you all have a great Wednesday! xo
Thanks Tony J enjoy the day 😀
God bless u ❤️❤️
Happy Wednesday!
Best doctor in the world. Love this video. Totally useful info. Saved my skin on my face. Unfortunately, I have the worst eczema on my body from allergy shots and cat allergies. Im so depressed 😭. I also have urticaria because I refuse to take zyzal. Zyzal is the devil. Once I stop using consistently for a year, I developed serious itching. Im not sure if it's the allergy shot or after I took zyzal. It's a nightmare. My allergist keeps prescribing antihistamines but im taking Zoloft and all antihistamines make you feel depressed, angry, tired 24 hours and confused. I don't get rashes on my face and front torso just my legs, arms and butt. I just don't know what to do.
LRP Cicaplast = hands down; a cica cream that is sent from heaven. I've been using it for 5 years, still in love with it and never laid my eyes on other cica- products! Truly a saviour during the ugly days of post fractional laser treatments.
So the only product out of these that I have used is the cetafil redness relief and I LOVE it!! Saw a significant difference after only the first use!Been using for about a month now. Can't wait to try out some of these others.
Do you use it morning and pm?
@@larsnootbaarfann i use it at night
Dr. Dray, I’ve heard you mention panthenol many times when you are out shopping or talking about a specific product but never knew anything about it except that it’s moisturizing. Thanks! I ordered the DML.
I have skin burn on both of my cheeks, underneath the eyes. I am on fire. I just both Cetaphil gentle cleanser and Cetaphil Deep Hydration Healthy Glow Daily Cleanser. It helped very little. I am glad to have found this video on TH-cam. Just purchased the DML Forte with Panthenol, 4 oz. from Amazon. Suppose to arrive by 1/18/2022. Can't wait to get it soon, so I can apply it on my burned cheeks. Thanks for the video.
Dear Dr Dray your videos helped me so much to understand what's going with my skin! I've been going from doctor to doctor with everyone attempting treating for eczema or contact dermatitis (read a lot of steroids!) which was only worsening the situation and further affecting my quality of life. I'm truly thankful for the content you create and share❤
strolled over to see the ingredient list of cerave healing ointment I ordered based on dr dray rec, what do I see, panthenol, wow, it's arriving tomorrow, can't wait
The CeraVe healing ointment is a great product!
@@cathyvictor507 yes! i filled a couple small jars I've emptied and will take everywhere with me lol
"Perseverate." Part of why I love this channel.
Very informative! Love those earrings, and bought them after seeing them on you. I have been an Ana Luisa fan since you first featured the company!
Hi Dr Dray, would like to hear your thoughts on Sebamed Clear Face Gel. It's supposed to be great for acne prone and contains:
Aqua (Water), Aloe barbadensis leaf juice, Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Panthenol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Sodium Carbomer, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol.
Thanks so much for this! Per your recommendation, I started using the CeraVe Night Moisturizer and in two days I can notice a positive change. My skin was dry, irritated due to over exfoliation, and red. I think this is helping.
Is it called cerave Pm?
@@kristinas5714 yes. sorry, i wrote the wrong item. Yes the CeraVE PM moisturizer is correct.
Thanks for these tips. Always helpful information.
thanks for watching :)
Love this Video! I’m gonna buy the COSRX B5 D-PANTHENOL Cream 😍
could you do skin barrier recommendations that are 100% cruelty free? i believe the only brand out of your recommendations that didn’t test on animals and/or test with third parties was the paula’s choice product.
Just when my skin was crying out lately because of differin 🥺
Can you make a video on how to prevent turkey neck from forming? Should we do facial yoga or skin tighter?
one word EXERCISE
Thank you Dr Dray, my skin is extremely irritated at the moment and this advice really helps
Dr. Dray... you literally save my skin. Love your channel!
What products saved your skin?
I love how informative your videos are! I am going to try one of these for my skin issues caused by a nerve condition I have!
Aaaaahhhhh I was waiting Fir you to Post!!!
I've been in Love with Your Videos!!!
