You forgot the biggest and worst mistake that will make everyone hate you: missing the step off.
Luna is Best Waifu omg yes
Luna is Best Waifu dude I hate myself if I do that
Luna is Best Waifu I cannot explain how many times I've done that
Luna is Best Waifu YES OMG
Luna is Best Waifu YES OML
Let's not forget that band geeks know the true value of water during band camp... I actually passed out this one time ;-;
+whacha Talkinbout I feel your pain, I passed out two band camps in a row from heat or dehydration.
+whacha Talkinbout I haven't passed out, but I will usually need a gallon of water everyday of band camp. Oh, and having to ask someone to hold your water jug every single time you go to the field as I play cymbals. Yay me.
yesss WATER BREAK
Try living in Nevada during band camp i'm honestly surprised that no one passed out during that time.
+Gamer1999ad yea I'm sure ha-ha
OK BUZZFEED I WOULD LOVE TO REGULAR PEOPLE TRY BAND CAMP LIKE THAT WOULD MAKE MY YEAR😂😂😂
Whitney Veazey yes please
Whitney Veazey YEESS!! they would know the true value of water
omg. please please please. I would love
Whitney Veazey YESSSS!!! And when they have to carry the instruments everywhere
Whitney Veazey YES! Oh my god! Being in color guard band camp was 10x more hellish because we were outside for 12 hours well the actual band only had 8 hours and 45 minutes... and our band instructor always "ironically" chooses the hottest weeks of the summer
Only band kids know what mellophones are...
+Dancerific those are like those saxophones right
kappa
:|
true lool
D: I have to play one for french horn
PLOT TWIST: Color guard hit by flying snare.
lMAOOO
take that!
😂😂😂
I'm in guard and I've been hit by a tenor. Does that count?
Absolute legend
For all the people still doubting the effort marching band takes, try listening to the director scream "RUN IT BACK" for an hour in 90 degree heat before getting water even once
Clover Kuro when you live in Arizona so 90 is a good day
roof binch I live in Texas and that's nowhere near true 😂
Ryan is v shook! I don't know where you live but 80 is pretty cool
Band camp was absolute hell in Texas because we were above 100 for like a month straight
Our uniforms are so thick too.
"Do you have any valve oil?"
Keyes and Nebbins or that giant tub of Vaseline for cork grease uvu
Keyes and Nebbins nah man its all about that, "do you have an extra reed? I promise I'll pay you back."
SkateTheFootball
*is day before concert* "hey man can i borrow your music i just need to copy it i promise ill give it back"
Keyes and Nebbins I HEAR THIS EVERYDAY
for real! XD
Here's some more.
1.The deep value for water.
2. PC not knowing there music
3. PC ethier playing too fast or slow
4. "One more time"
5. Not being able to hear us flutes 😢
6. Not enough water breaks.
7. "This one time in marching band.....
8. Calling band members family instead of friends
9. You tend to walk in time with people in halls or where ever you are.
10. Not being normal cause you're in band.
11. Trumpets always playing loud.
12. Shoulders must face crowd during a slide.
13. Getting angry when people say marching band isn't a sport.
If I forgot anything then comment another.
5 is true, which is why we have piccolos :D
+armypopp we have no piccolo's is out band 😢
+Gabriella Martinez *our
Gabriella Martinez Oh, well dang.
Luke Cable It's more than you think. Hours and hours on working on setting formations in the heat, memorizing music, keeping good posture, choreography, marching different ways than you think, etc. It may not require running 3+ miles at competitions, but it's more than you think ^-^
The Try Guys try Marching Band for a week!!
Yeah. That would seriously be awesome
YESSSS (and Eugene used to play the oboe if im not wrong? )
TH-cam_and_bands_ lover_ YES LIKE YHEY SHOULD GIVE THE A DOT SHEET AND EVERYTHING AND TEACH THEM DOUBLE TIME AND ALL THE FUN STUFF
HELL YEAAA
TH-cam_and_bands_ lover_ yES
Also, the band bus has create some of the most unexplainably awesome moments of your entire life.
iliketrains0pwned I'm in Gard now but my older brother played Bohemian Rhapsody on the bus and got everyone to sing it
Yeah, what happens on the band bus stays on the band bus, like this one time...
Our school has a shirt that shows that band band and it says
"The Band Bus...
"... I'm not allowed to talk about it."
Yes my man
We played heads up on the way back home
Minus one
horn angles
Band director: One more time
5 hours of marching and band director calls a "gush and go" 30 second water break
Set 0
Shoulders to the front
Get a feel for the grass
Fall in at set
Drum Major calls set then gets side tracked for 10 mins keeping us at set then calls relax
Anyone have these lol
Currwntly, our drum majors are pretty on point, but all the others, yes!
March BACK to the previous set! Biggest waste of time because it's never used in the show
+BrandonPlayz
Also when the drum major previously played YOUR sections instrument before becoming a drum major so he/she only looks at your section and the second you mess up you think your about to die
ANYONE ELSE ON THIS ONE?!?!
Ryan Docherty Lol, we "run" between sets, then get yelled at for having more energy running to get water.
This is the story of my life and we're also supposed to run between sets haha^
Only marching band kids will know what "DUT DUT DUT" means.
I love this comment😍😍
that amd guard girls.
Dut, Dut, Dut, Dut, Down up. 1234
Okay, I'm in a really non-traditional band so please explain
Rosemary Crafting Its lik e counts normally. The Dut, Dut,Dut, Dut, Down up. 1234. Thats a color guard thing. Normally for rifles.
XD normally its just in place of the "5, 6, 5678," instead its the Dut Dut Dut Dut down up 1234. But it is said fast. I have friends on weapon line who say that all the time when we are warming up. (Im currently on flag)
Flutes: Taking everything up an octave in attempt to be heard ;-;
Yes! & it works!!XD
+Catie Monroe? #truth i totally do this, and when my band director notices, I just tell him that my music is right and his score is wrong :)
Rosemary Crafting We don't do it in concert band, occasionally. We do it a the time in marching band and the techs don't question iy
Lol, try being the only Tuba and being heard.
so true
Guess who lost 7 lbs during band camp and fainted once?
This guy.
I lost 15 ;( I was so nauseous I fainted
XxTrumpetCheerxX Dude. The band struggle is real.
+lost in oblivion I know right? Do you still march? If so for college, DCI or high school
XxTrumpetCheerxX High school! I'm a freshman (:
+lost in oblivion omg same what do you play
This is too relatable. I just wanna see "normal" people try band for a week
Toy So Sweet and a summer band edition too
Alessandra Bastida "brace yourselves, non-band kids are coming..."
Toy So Sweet that’s what I did I went home and thought meh that was easy I hate it
Anti Social Libra marching band
I remember my first band camp every inch of my body drenched in sweat by the end of the season I never even broke a sweat
You find yourself humming the cadence at complete random times
No i don't.
Joel Panttila Then you are not human
Yea me too, this is especially true for Drumline members.
Joel Panttila Well I'm a percussionist so...
I always have it stuck in my head even though I'm not even in drumline omg
BuzzFeed obviously thinks that marching band is a joke. Oh trust me bud, trust me. You'll be gasping for air when you're done.
I gasp for air when I walk five feet, let along with a bass drum hanging off my chest.
Forgot to include the true value of water breaks, attention drills too
drum major calls set at rehearsal and their voice cracks
guard hits the band
run through at the end of rehearsal
"go get a quick gush"
the drum major calls set in the middle of you counting your spot from front/back line or the front/back hash
you end up going on side 1 instead of side 2 "by accident" (vice-versa
The left foot one is the most relatable
JACubed yessss
absolutely. Unless you march cadets.
Director: "flutes perfect as always"
Rest of the marching band: "You can't even hear them."
Directors:
maybe yall play too loud, we rlly tryin
Oh nah the flute angle be WACK
I swear the flutes never mess up in my marching band. Like, they will not play the full part until they get it right then it's just everyone else.
@@katpawz5465 ok as a trombone it's quite difficult to *not* play louder than a flute. And I think that goes for 90% of brass as a whole.
To hear flutes pretty much the whole band has to play softer. And that obviously sacrifices a lot of sound, which makes our performance worse, which leads to all of us getting yelled at by the band director. You guys are the exact opposite of the base of the sound.
"You've been hit by a flag at least once"
No, but one of the color guard girls dropped their rifle on my toe.
i got whipped by a ribbon once
Ouch
My binder exploded 8 times during band camp.
Im in gaurd and i dropped a rifle on my toe and my toe was bleeding lmao
Screw that, half of my clarinet fell on my foot. Too much cork grease
Adults try marching band for the first time
this needs to happen.
yes
+AdrianTheHusky CAROLINA CROWN! 😍😍😍
+Lexi Noonan BLUE DEVILS!
And they have to play baritone 😂
Me marching as a Freshman: Marching and just pressing random keys and then playing my part on holds.
Glass too relatable 😂😭
Glass - uh ME
That's me this year.
Fake it till you make it lol
okay actually me, my band director didnt want me playing at all during our show, but i still played some notes at holds, like the horn pop at the end of the queen opener
"reset!"
"gush and go!"
"don't move at set!"
"8 to 5"
"one more time"
"look up! the press box is way up high"
Ally Simpson More reps, more better
Hydrate or diedrate
Last time, best time!
Ok, for real last time best time!
Last time best time for real, take two!
When you band instructor tells you to practice everyday but you practice once a week or worse...
I never practice... because I don't have that much of a time.
Or worse.....not once after freshman year
Practice it once, memorize it and never worry about it again
Practice it once, memorize it and never worry about it again
I lost 15 pounds in 2 weeks during band camp
that's impossible.😂 unless you were on an extreme diet and worked out everyday too.
+Miguel Alameda it was a hyperbole, lol
How was I suppose to know😂
Miguel Alameda you werent and its ok... lol
Imma Loser i gained weight in muscle during my two weeks of band camp but got incredibly fit
trombone is literally a spit bomb. When we clear out spit valve get out of the way!! XD
Lol I hade a bowl full
Hello fellow female trombonist :D
***** my people!
Yay! Female trombone players unite! Haha :)
I thought I was the only girl trombone player in the world
As a color guard member I can personally say the amount of times I've almost broke an instrument is uncanny
Every time I hear a whistle I automatically think it's our band director screaming at us for doing something wrong.
same here
I once heard another band's whistle and thought it was ours. I screamed our salute yell thing at the top of my lungs-
@@adelinaarmstrong9423 BAHAHAHA 😭
At 1:05 lets take a moment to forget about that fall and realise how many saxophones they have, jesus
lol
lol. we have 9 in our band/marching band.
my band has about 18-25 saxes
My band has 7
I think we have like 18-25
one time during a marching show, someone passed out, and people just sorta stepped over her body and continued the show like it was nothing
esoumn this reminds me of the American pie movie of marching band
esoumn lol
I’m in marching band right now
lmao well you kinda have to ignore it, just have to act like nothing happened :(
"Gush and go."
"Face your previous dot."
"One more time."
"Again from the top."
"Full run through, set!"
*Dropping a big toss*
"Its power hour!!"
*The drum major cuts off right before your entrance*
*saying goodbye to the seniors*
Try Guys Try Marching Band. DO IT BUZZFEED
YAAAAÀAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS
+smartnerd12 lol Try Guys Try Auditioning for DCI
+smartnerd12 YESH!!!!! have each guys play in a section. like play in the drumline, wind, brass, percussion and guard
+Vampire Asuna Lol. I feel like if one of them plays the clarinet, they're going to sound horrible XD. It's taken me since fifth grade to get a tone that sounds nice
YES THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN
When you can't relate because you're in pit. But still, I have found my family. Band geek forever ❤️
Omg I thought only band called us the pit lol. I played vibraphone - you?
+Liddy Maryse our*
+Liddy Maryse this season i played xylo, vibes, and bells/glockenspiel
+Chloe Dupras I play gong
+Lyric Washington a gong fell on my back one time. it was painful.
the horn angles are what gets me in marching band lol (im a trumpet player)
Allie Burns me too ayy
YOUR'RE SUPPOSED TO KEEP YOUR HEELS UP WHEN YOU GO BACKWARD
mhm. I was a drum major was was taught to keep my heels up and glide in time with my toes.
I'm watching them all fall...Are the instruments okay?
#cymballady
I know right.
I have to play cymbals in a parade in about a week. So that's cool.
you don't want to play in the rain if your a woodwind
magic 8 ball Girl Ya still gotta March the show though
No one does
magic 8 ball Girl Tossing giant flags in the rain is the worst.
My band doesn't we put them away
I had a competition and it started raining so hard that I couldn't see what was in front on me...we still continued the show lol....my clarinet died that day and had to buy a new one :,)
Anyone who comments "Welcome to the Black Parade" lyrics isn't a true marching band geek. If they were a true marching band geek, they'll comment something along the lines of "this one time, at band camp..."
+kit fox Yep. Like this one time at band camp I tripped over a cone. Wasn't fun.
MidnightBlackHorse
I got hit in the face with a colourguard flag during a show. Not fun.
One time at band camp my friend kinda just sliced himself with a pair of scissors he had in his backpack he was gonna use to cut out his music for his flipbook. lol this kids is why you don't carry scissors in your backpack like yhis.
+kit fox same, but I had tenors...
I'm in marching band I have said both of those things lol especially to freshman when they first come into band camp xp although how cool would it be to play the black parade during a marching proformance :D
1 sign you were a band geek.
1: you were in a marching band...
not true. there's some kids in my marchig band who hate it
You can be a band geek in concert band! Right..? Right? No... Okay... *cries in corner*
I know this is 8 years old, but if my situation is any indication, it is mandatory if you were in band.
@@nolanception I hated it all 4 years. It always prevented us from starting concert band and jazz bands at the beginning of the year. Instead we had to devote an unnecessary amount of time to walking around in circle on the football field. In other words a complete waste of time.
Where the one about people knowing what a sousaphone is?
Ikr.
Hello sousaphone. I'm a mellophone.
TheZombieWolf94 don’t play one but know what it is
my band had cheerleaders marching with us for one parade that we did and one of them asked someone holding a TROMBONE "Is that a sousaphone?"
I know no one ever knows that it's the large tuba the tuba person can actually march with.
"If marching band was easy it would be called football"
When people say they're band geeks and don't perform in marching or concert
"Shut up, phony"
finally something i can relate too
Alyssa Stabler same
All I hear from the band kids at school was band camp, Band Camp, BAND CAMP
Cuz everything fun/crazy happens at Band Camp
Too many people think "Welcome to the Black Parade" makes you a band geek... smh
This comment section feels right...like I have my fellow band geeks here bonding. I play percussion btw.
Cardenas.L #cymbal4life #cymbal4thewin
Yooooooo I make percussion vlogs
oh my god that poor trombone that got smacked by a flag. He recovered well
uggghh. especially with the metal mouthpiece that hurts your mouth😭 I give props to him cause I would've been crying😂
One time I fell during practice and it was a pretty nasty fall and my band director saw me and looked so worried but I just got up and just continued the run through of the show like a boss
0:22 I'm always afraid I'll be the guard member that will do that.
Same
One time there was a position in which I (Snare drummer) had to play next to a color guard. Unfortunately, the color guard was new, and stabbed a hole right through my snare drum. Fml.
+DefiniteLemon If she did that during practice... She would probably be forced to run.. by my teacher... Yes, this year 4 colorguard ladies had to run 4 miles once.
At band camp one year I had to spin at like lightning speed while going backwards. But it was only 12 steps. And one of the trumpet instructors was in my dot. When my flag went behind me, he got hit. He said it was his life's dream to get hit by a flag at least once.
Quick question, How can you be in marching band long enough to have become a trumpet instructor but you still haven't been hit by a flag? Like seriously?
My school doesn't have a color guard because they were all caught smoking weed before a show one time and they were all kicked off. Honestly I'm glad we don't have one
Tara Stoddard Can Jarrell borrow them? Lol
Smoke reed everyday.
Drew Thomas if that were an implemented rule at my school than our 130 person band would be gone
Drew Thomas well I'm in Gard and we aren't all bad plus I'd slap anyone of my Gard fam if they EVER did drugs then I'd hug them to help them
@@DefectiveDictionary777 I wouldn't be using my $30 a box tenor reeds in marching band, so I'd be using a synthetic reed. If it's synthetic it makes it sound like something else.
Where my concert band at😂🙋🏽♂️
ayee
+J Army your profile and name is Beautiful

sigh marching season. always the best of awkward tan lines, rain that ruins the pads of our woodwinds, the one person always out of step and out of line-love that person, and catching cramps in your calf and foot. now concert season is here, and marching season is in the past, at least until parades...great.
where my drumline squad at? #quads
hell yeah, #tenors / #quadsunite
Me here☝🏼️
Me! #QuadSupremecy #Tenorline

I'm a cymbal hi :)
Flute squad anyone??
Twenty øne Crybaby's YAS... #FluteAngles
Do you know how much it pisses me off that no matter what, overtime we say 'Watch your damn flute angles' no one in the damn section ever listens..
Lol it took me soooo long to get my flute parallel to the ground for a whole show.. Rip my arms.
Fluties
Twenty øne Bottles of bleach HEYYYYYYY
When you hear the band director: "LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFT!!"
Where my clarinet squad at?
Here :)
You mean the devil stick?
MrUnicrook YES
lol^^^
IGotSHWAG4U RIGHT HEREEEEEE
This is the truth. The one final truth. Since I'm speaking in the band language, the phrase "One final" actually means "10 more times, so GET THIS RUN THROUGH RIGHT!"
Is mayonnaise an instrument?
No, Patrick, mayonnaise is not an instrument.
...horseradish is not an instrument either.
Do instruments of torture count?
***** No but instruments of wrong grammar do
EvilMonkeyReturns Damn, you eat me to it. I will leave that typo through this edit because it can be taken as a pun. It was obviously supposed to be beat.
No, mayo is not an instrument, but honey mustard is! :D
WHERES MY BAND GEEKS AT?
god only knows what my upper body strength would be without Contras and hella long drum breaks
how about instead of making us a joke, you show some bands that actually know what they're doing?
So A And who's us?
wheres my baritone squad at

Yoooo

LahVaughnDah erm no baritones are wonderful
Fun With Laci beg to differ
Can we have a Guardier version of this?
true
Nzrmal k
Nzrmal Wait but then the BD will have to fill my hole?
They should
No passing out ?
During band camp people at least puke or pass out.
Or both at once!
holy shit no joke one of my section leaders got carried away in an ambulance from having a heat stroke and being dehydrated.
This year my friend passed out and I almost did but I didn't *superpowers*
This girl in my section literally passed out within the first 20 minutes of band camp on day 1.
Some are accurate... Some are not... But that is. Just the internet
Much credit to the other trombone players... I would've started laughing😂😂 // so much self control~ >< clarinet player :P
I emptied my spit valve onto my shoe once 😂😂
Clarinet as well. Do you play bass or Bb??
^^ btw. OMG YASS your profile pic. Jungkook slay
Finally! BuzzFeed decided to up there game and make some less terrible videos! #bandlivesmatter
"Did you get punched?"
"No, my mouth piece hit my braces."
Even though I'm in one of the worst and smallest bands in my area, it's still great fun
You know you're a band geek when you can say dinkles without laughing.
and shakos
Sarahnessoyeah and bibbers
This applied to color guard as well, especially getting hit by flags. Don't think the guard doesn't get hit by instruments in return. Drummers and trombones being in the wrong place on field can be painful. Marching band was the best part of high school. ^.^
No the color guard is always in the wrong place whenever they hit us and they always blame us but when you look at the positions they are always wrong lol.
DonkeyxKong93 lol. Yeah. I play the tenors (the five drums) and they are a fucking pain to carry and I could would try to get out of the way, but I'd probably just hurt both of us. The color guards and instructors told us to move where we need to and let the color guards find their way. But I still have respect for their position cause I'm sure it's no easier for them.
I promise not all guards are that bad! My high school had a really terrible band director, so many of the people with instruments didn't care, especially the younger kids. It wasn't all of the trombones or drummers for us, just a few. With the trombone, it was just at the beginning of the season with a couple of rookies, and they did apologize. The drummer on the other hand usually did it on purpose and was often called out for being way out of place by the percussion captain and several instructors.
Dragoon11792 there are different kinds of color guards like the ones who dance, look pretty, compete, an travel
i know at least 3 fellow drumline members that have hit a guard member with their sticks after getting hit by a flag or rifle
Marching band kids will know the struggle of being lied to by saying "last time" or how good it feels to hear "water break"
Anyone here play flute?
Dani XD Me ! But I Quit...
Dani XD MEEEEE
Dani XD right here! 🖖🏼✌🏼️
Dani XD. I've found my family 😄
OMG add me on snap chat band fellows @amber.aikins my goal is to get a streak with every person I meet from other bands
Finished band camp 3.5 hours ago.
same
just woke up after a nearly 20 hour sleep after band camp
I apologize for your loss
It's OK, I had a performance yesterday
Julian Klimczyk more like a year ago now
Laugh so freakin hard cuz of how much of it is true😂
Mellophone/French Horn for life
yes
Vanessa Lee OYE YAH
I'm 14 5 foot and march a bari sax and the trumpets complain about how heavy their instruments are.
Um excuse me? You sax players have a neck strap. We trumpets players have to hold up our instruments at the right angle and by the end of every show or parade, our arms kill. Don't you complain. And btw, tuba players are gonna hate you for this so... Don't complain
All instruments are heavy if you've carried them long enough. ^•^
Thankfully, In jazz/concert band, we saxes get to sit most of the time. >:)
Ever think of the DRUM LINE?!?!?!?!? lol I'm just kidding cause it will cause a giant argument but it is tough in drum line and I think its tough for everyone in some way
stick man weirdo Its tough sitting right in front of the KIT PLAYER who just wONT STOP DRUMMING EVEN THOUGH WE AREN'T EVEN SUPPOSED TO BE PLAYING YET
i hear ya
Drum corps is the way to go kids!!!!!😜😎🎺
Alex Tucker Yup! Go Drum Corps!
Sun Shine who do you march?
Alex Tucker #cymbal4life
I don't need 'signs' that I was a band geek if I was in band and enjoyed it that's all I need to know I'm a band geek. I did band in 6th grade and hated it. I don't need dumbass buzzfeed to tell me if I was or wasn't a band geek. All buzzfeed does is go to sites that have a list saying if you were something or the site has a title saying 17 things you must see before you die and buzzfeed being stupid as it is makes a video from it. I will admit they have some decent editing skills and make original content once a month, otherwise buzzfeed just jacks other content.
I start marching next year wish me luck
Cobalt GOOD LUCK!! 😊
bro, work out now you will need it and practice alot
Along with STAMINA!!
You'll love it.
what do you play?
Ah geez. I remember I fell during a double time backwards march. I had to get from 50 yardline to the 25 yardline in 16 beats. I had to do a visual as a steam powered robot for our steampunk show so I had to break off of the curve last minute to take my "skin mask off" and reveal my copper face makeup. Yeah Mr. Band Teacher, it'll be fine, Octavious can make it. I still have a scar on my neck where the saxophone nailed me in the windpipe.
And the time I almost cried. In my band girls have to wear short shorts and guys have to wear boxers under their band pants because gym shorts are too bulky under them. I had to fill in for my buddy on the toms because she had a massive spotlight "dance" with a colorguard guy. She basically just stood there playing while the colorguard guy tried to get her attention. Now, you can bend down with the toms. Our last competition. Spotlight dance comes up. And there go my pants. I was wearing my bright neon green and purple "Rev Up Your Harley" joker boxers.
The colorguard guy was a peach and pulled my pants up then helped get me behind one of the props.
We're together to this day.
+Marcel Octavious better love story than Twilight
yep, I'm a band geek... even though I'm in pit, my friend threw her flag at me so check xD
Pit is lit
Music from Boro yeah it is
Having to stand perfectly still knowing damn well your feet are on fire and your nose itches.
They should do one for orchestra nerds.
Alexandra Smith I agree
Avstermill I doubt they will though, because no one cares about us lol
***** you realize that stringed instruments existed before the wind instruments, so they were the ones that got added on, which makes them the excessive ones, not strings. And strings can play the wind instruments parts perfectly fine also. I've played many trumpet pieces on my violin, and violins can easily play the fast notes that flutes play. And orchestra takes way more technique.
***** the fact that it's harder to learn just shows that it takes more discipline. Are you really bragging that it takes less talent to play a band instrument?
***** The technique I'm string instruments adds more beauty to songs, compared to if they are played by wind instruments, vibrato for example.
I AM a band geek. I haven't gotten wacked by a flag but I have been with a trombone. You can't play a woodwind in the rain, it will ruin the pads. I have a strong tan line from rehearsal in my hightop converse and one of my arms is darker than the other due to the suns position at practice.
I play clarinet.
Kaitlin O'Malley the struggle is real. I play clarinet too and all those things happened to me.
Cassidy Wright my band had to play in the rain in an arcadia festival of course we were covered with ponchos especially woodwinds but rain or shine the show must go on!
joester4251 lol we don't have to play when it rains
yea but for my band when theres rain we still perform unless its heavy rain for example our vista tournament got cancelled due to heavy rains and thunderstorms lol that's a bit reasonable for us to not perform but if its light rain band director doesn't care were still performing haha
I just started band camp this year and we are on our second week. Everything on here is accurate.
0:35 that's why we have BIBBERS kids look it up
Does color guard count in this?
I'd say so. It all applied to color guard as well, especially being hit by a flag.
do you play an instrument? are you part of the band?
does common sense escape you?
This video was giving examples specifically from marching band, so yes, color guard is part of the band.
Dragoon11792 oh it is? so then the redskins are part of the falcons too right?
if it was the same it wouldn't have different names, leaders, purposes, uniforms, etc.
common sense....
Some schools have a different instructor for each section. How is the purpose different? They perform part of the exact same show. It's the same as saying drummers and hornline have a different purpose. I've seen plenty of bands where the uniform varies between section, and plenty where the guard matched the instrumental members. Color guard is just the name of the section, similar to hornline, drumline, the pit, etc. So, yes, guard is part of the marching band. I've never met a marching band (instructors or performers) who said otherwise. Everybody there marches to the beat, performs, and follows the drum major's cues.
The last musician is totaly an idol
This is my last year of band camp and man will I miss it! The 9hrs of practice and the before show huddles. Band really is hell but I’d suffer through it again and again just to hear the judges announce another superior rating for us ❤️ If anyone has doubts if they should join band, do it! It really is super fun and it’s nice to be involved
