And they recognize the best part about it too!!! During the Covid year they pulled me up from 8th grade because they needed new pit member and they made us do the stupid conditioning, like we get conditioning enough from pushing our instruments from the band room, up the largest hill ever, and across the student parking lot

My band only has 2 1st clarinets, including me, and the other clarinets avoid it like the plague. But honestly they don’t try anyways :/

0:51 This happens all the time in my band, but instead it’s the flutes! It happens so often, one trombone called it FLUTED. So when someone else in the band (trombones, tubas etc.) doesn’t get to play, they say they’ve been FLUTED....

as a percussionist i can confirm, we loose music so quickly, and because we are ✨ percussionists ✨ we don’t ever actually follow the music

As a percussionist, I don't want to admit it, but the last one was so true
(also a percussionist) we have the opposite problem. We end up with all the random extra parts, so we have to dig through a bunch of low brass and trumpet parts to get to ours.
The last one hits hard for percussion-
I swear I hear another "I don't have ______" when we just got the music last band hour, I'm gonna slice a dude

I played chimes for a concert. I had to wait over 20 measures, and usually, I wouldn’t get the in play then because the director has to call someone out for playing incorrectly and made us start back at the beginning.
For the first time in forever, my band director said in the marching band:
Trumpets, you’re being overplayed by the flutes! Come on now!

Relatable... I'm the synth player for my Front Ensemble, and our director bought us studio headphones (not for comps, but just practicing without being heard since our BD makes me create my own synth patches (I confront either our percussion director, or the BD who usually approves). Being me, I usually practice synth riffs like Jump, or Blinding Lights, or just the basic F Minor Blues for synth soloing while all the marchers are marching 8's.
Soooo Im part of the first jazz band in the junior high school. I play the bass that's a pretty big change from the flute. I'm still a runner for marching band
