Why would someone want to have intercaste marriages? In Indian context, marriage involves alliance between two families and this cannot happen with intercaste marriages. There are gonna be problems. Marry within the caste, within the religion.

You are yourself undergoing so probably it's fair for both the people. And if two people are matured, you don't need to involve families in discussing this. It's better to be safe than sorry I guess.

My piece of advice- the boy will become like his parents post marriage, so focus all your energy on the parents. Even when the boy acts independent, he will be a reflection of his parents. All of a sudden, family traditions become important for guys post marriage.
And India men do not want to equally share household chores. It's never gonna happen.

You put things in a very good manner,but one point I want to add here is that before marriage all girls should spend some time with the boy's family in order to know each other and same logic applies for boys and both the parents for a healthy relationship. I agree to the fact that there would be differences between couples and families but there should be mutual respect between families & couple and instead of proving who is right or wrong,they should find what is wrong and solve them. :-)

To me, I always wanted to both adopt and have biological. Just be open to both. If it is too hard to adopt or too hard to get pregnant, that's fine. Make sure communication is there
one point i also want to share i.e. temperament,
reacting on other's(spouse or in-laws) action is normal but overreacting is always bad and will eventually can destroy your married life.
It's good to understand Responses or Style of response in angry mood . Some strong minded folks have responses which are difficult for spouse to handle and it can ruin the entire day or even few days to recover . The tone,words, outburst of energy or even the sound frequency ...

Great 10 points, all the more important to think upon, discuss openly if it’s an arranged marriage. I would add discussion on religious beliefs; more so if it’s an inter religion marriage. The boy and the girl might not pay much attention to it. Believe me, quite a number of issues can surface around adapting to culture, food and practices. Also there need to be discussion on habits pointing to smoking, drinking etc. if it’s a love marriage they would certainly be aware to a great extent. On the other hand if it’s an arranged marriage, then it can be an unpleasant surprise to either the boy or the girl. Discussing around extra curricular activities would be appropriate too. After marriage, for example the boys parents may be against the girl giving public dance (Bharatnatyam, Khatak......) performances.
Mam what you mentioned is all true. However this level of understanding about the other person can only happen in either love marriage or you have a long courtship after getting engaged probably.. and after that if you discover something like this it's very hard to break ties once families are involved.. specially in arranged marriage, where you would max get few months to probably know each other.. would be useful if you can make video sharing your thoughts given these scenarios.

I am in a similar kind of situation.Earlier I hated even to think about getting married because married life comes with so much responsibilities but now I am 29 I think life will be boring after sometimes but you shouldn't get married unless you can't imagine spending next 50-60 years with that person(personality)

Prachi di , M engaged n m marrying frm my choice bt his mother n father are not alive . My papa met there relatives and he is satisfy. M frm mumbai and his frm banglore . His is nice well manner and working guy , no bad habits i know him since 2 or 3 yr nd i told my parents i convince my parnts for him .
