This brings me back a bunch of fond memories of my twenty three years messing with in the V6 Capri realm in Aussieland. As a forced part of the final wrap up of the life I had back at my parents home when they passed on I more or less gave away a truckload of bits & pieces including years worth of gathered documentation. The gear ended up in same Sydney neighborhood at the home of another small ford freak. A coupla years back during a vacation back home I looked the colleague up & so ended up going for an inspiring ride around the block in the frankenstein that was built many elements of my former baby. Am hoping he still keeps up on that & maintains the inventory well.
Congratulations, my Girl left me after 3 years after I finished my turbo capri, that I restored 10 years like you ;-)

Worked on brodie/buncombes capri2 supersaloon in the 70's. Nice build m8. Dry sump ... make sure the oil pipes enter the tank at an angle ... micro bubbles otherwise .
Can you be more specific, What do you mean "oil pipe enter the tank at an angle"?
Our capri kept losing oil pressure and blew a rod twice. Dave brodie used the old escort bda dry sump set up. The catch tank in the boot had oil return going straight in. At thruxton lost oil pressure again and i remember 2 cossie lads taking a look. They sussed the pipes wete wrong . The oil was hitting the tank side at high pressure and causing micro bubbles. The pipes have to go in at a shallow angle so the oil swirls around the edge. I was 12 at the time.. It was a beautifull car. And i knew about the capri2 b4 it was released. Sworn to secrecy i was. ...lol. check it out , there are some pics on the net. Dave brodie /jonathan buncombe supersaloon capri 2. I also worked on 'the chimp' .we whooped gerry marshall 'big bertha' team vauxhall .. so they banned us on a technocality. Best regards . Marcel.

was that a custom four link in the rear? my capri isnt close by n i havent really seen underneath for my restoration. 74 mercury v6, owned and sits for 8yrs now.
Amazing video! I would love to have a project like this, but I would have to share it with one or two friends to bear the costs and split the work. And if it's ten years I will be 55! Maybe that's a perfect time to go with it to old timers grand prix at the Nuerburgring :)
May I ask how much money, in material - not with work hours added (then it becomes too astronomical to even mention) was spent on this project?

Great project Man ! But , to be honest , what i hate here , y left an old concept of chasy in front (Mc Person ) and solid axel in back which is shit sistem , evan for agresive sport driveing spec for RACE ! As a Head of this project , y should know what i ment !?
