I think this is the quickest steel bodied Capri i have ever seen. You can just hear the Cosworth GAA at low revs sounds remotely like an Essex but once the revs rise the thing sounds like an animal surely the best sounding N/A v6 i have heard. Great driving as well really carrying the speed through the corners great stuff!

@@janispetke6655 I used to love blowing Capris into the weeds in my Rover SD1 V8, which didn't have shitty cart spring rear suspension, lol.
I've owned 6 capris over the years. a 1979 1.6 GL auto. a 1981 2.0 cabaret. a 2.0 S. a 1981 cabaret 2. a 1.6 laser and finally a 2.8i special in 2 tone blue. today I'm mondeo man but I do miss my youth and rear wheel drive lol. awesome cars that were entertaining and cheap and easy to maintain.

I still own my Capri Mk1 Turbo, it is so easy to maintain. If something breaks, you fix it within an hour or less.

Have always had a thing for Capri's, in my youth I almost, almost convinced my Dad to get a 3.0S as his next company car. Didn't happen though and he went for yet another Granada Ghia 2.8!! Wasn't that much fun in a Granada on the windy roads of North Yorkshire, they were a bitch to powerslide!! Although they were good for 100 mph + blasting over the Pennine's on the M62!! Those Zakspeed Capri's though, WOW!!

Ford of Europe take note (a Cosworth 24V GAA V6 note) ...resurrect the Capri please.
If only Ford had shoehorned the 2.9 BOA/B into the last of the mk3 Capri's, it would've made a great Tin-top racer, and sold better than the 2.8i in road going form. They could've sold it as the RS capri.
Ford Europe should have marketed a limited edition Capri with that Cosworth screamer engine

Absolutely awesome, the rear could be a little lower to help handling.
Brass balls were too soft.
Steel balls were too heavy.
Titanium balls were just right !
I bought my MK1 3 litre GT ford capri in 2004 and it is now an ETCC ford "works" touring car replica in blue and white with 16 inch 3 piece split rims and a box arch body kit with a duck tail spoiler. Sounds good but not quite as good as that one. Looks the same though!!!! 😊

Ist in Italien, Bergrennen Castelmonte Cividale , dieser Capri erzielte damals den Gesamtsieg bei den Historischen Fahrzeugen.

No its a RWD Capri but with the touring car specs like Wattlinkage, spring-dampers on rear axle instead of leaf springs and 300mm wide race tyres. Front suspension with thrust struts and other special parts

Honestly i swear to god this was an average drive for my stepdad when i was a kid. I loved it.
Never once crashed but the cars were never super special.
A mk5 cortina 2.2 pinto was probably his favourite.
But his rs2000 mk 2 escort was mine.
When i hit my teens he was sierra all the way. cosworth replicas tho. He had a straight 6 in his last saph cosworth replica and i have my best memories with him in that car.
I hope i can give my kids the same memories but safer i dont have his skills.
Race cars belong on the race track, kids. Don't upset anyone, coppers or blue-hairs. Changing lanes is a red flag, so do that sparingly and slowly. Secret racing is the best: Nobody knows what fun it is, and we don't spend money like drunks in the body shop. Thrash just short of howling the tires, nowhere near breaking motor or trans. Late-ish braking, upshift comfortably below redline. Drove two pickups breaking nothing of consequence to 407,000 and 300,002 and counting (still a weekly driver, quiet and reliable). No, those are not kilometers.

Late to this party but I believe this is in Portugal (donno which hillclimb) and this is a portuguese driver, António Nogueira, driving one of the few (4 built), with 500ish Hp/9.000Rpm Cosworth V6, made only to race Le Mans. Me thinks...

Lets be honest the only thing actually Capri about this car is about 60% of the bodywork. Otherwise it's not a Capri.
Most parts are Capri, especially the MK1 Racecars based on the 2600RS. The Wattlinkage on the rear axle is special build and the suspension got "schubstreben" other than that most of the car is Capri Mk1.
@@RaceNfunTv and the engine and the exhaust and the roll cage in the interior and I doubt the steering is original. I would also be really surprised to find the original chassis, it must have been strengthened and stiffened. I owned 3 Capris, a Mark I 1600 a Mark II, 2.0S and one of the very last 2.8i models with the five speed box. Loved my Capris but they were not the best handling cars in the world.....

Ha so fährt ein Opel Kadet GT/E auf nasser Straße
Er wurde 1. Platz bei dem Rennen in Italien. Es waren auch viele C Kadetts da, Platz 3 ging an einen C Kadett, Lancia Delta fuhr auf 2. das lag daran dass es beim Capri durch den Langen Radstand immer sehr unspektakulär aussieht von aussen und die Engen Kurven auch nicht so schnell genommen werden können wie in C Kadett. Der Capri reißt es durch die Gewalt eben wieder raus von 450Ps. Er ist generell ein sehr ausgeglichenes Auto. Ich liebe C Kadetts auch sehr, das sind super schnelle Autos. Je nach Kurs sind die auch deutlich schneller. Aber in dem Video hast auch gesehen es sind lange gerade drin, wenn die mit über 220 fahren kannst mit 450Ps. dann fehlen einem gut gemachten C Kadett mit 250Ps einfach mal 200Ps. Und genau da holt der Capri seine Zeit wieder rein.
Obwohl ich selbst einen Ford Capri Turbo fahre mit 4 Zylinder (890kg Leergewicht, 280Ps) sind mir die C Kadetts in der auf den meisten Engen Kursen überlegen. Weil die sind nochmal 150kg leichter und mit Kürzerem Radstand wendiger.
Vom Konzept her sind C Kadett und Capri eigentlich sehr ähnlich. Nur eben mit etwas mehr Gewicht und längerem Radstand.
Komm doch mal vorbei zur Slalom Trophy Schöne Aussicht dieses Jahr. Da sind C Kadetts dabei, die Tourenwagen alt aussehen lassen ;-)
