AC may not have the latest tyre model but it replicates the feeling of driving a car on the limit like no other sim. That’s one of the things that draws me to this title.
I'm loving these "Vs. Real Life" series of videos! When Forza Motorsport 8 releases, will you add it to the rotation since you also feature GT7 (simcade racer) just to include all the major titles? Also, your sound mixing is top tier. I watch on a 5.1 surround system and even though TH-cam is stereo only, the camber of the Porsche really shines in this video as does your commentary that's well balanced and not too soft or loud. Keep up the great work!
AC still has a lot of potential with the always improving , Custom shaders patch. "LUA" creates endless possibilities that a lot of modders are now starting to learn more and more about . Just wait until "extended physics" become more mainstream on AC , cars will feel even more realistic despite the outdated tires. i won't be surprised to see a LUA developed tire , which will keep up with todays standards, maybe even passing todays standards. Revolutionary ! God bless the creator of Custom shaders patch. If it weren't for him , AC would be dead long time ago .
I must admit I used to be a HARDCORE Ams1 fanboi, but obviously once the modding & devving taps were turned off I had to find a new title, I chose AC... It is king. I love the physics, the graphics (depending on filter used), it's just so, so good ❤️
I can never understand why people think AC is a good simulator. Aside from a great community, good pricing, large official content and mods, AC is just "meh", be it physics-wise or just as an overall racing simulator. It's often more bare-bones than arcade games when it comes to simulation features.

@@aarongreen121 I don't mean in the "I don't have enough time on the sim" way, because I have more than 800 hours on it. What I mean is not subjective, but objective. Assetto Corsa is objectively a worse sim than most, specially in the simulation area. Just to give you a few examples: no break wear whatsoever, and brake temperature seems to be implemented only on a handful of cars. No adjustable brake pressure. No true oil pressure/temperature simulation, no water temperature. AC can't handle stiff suspensions. No false starts, no garage starts. The aero simulation completely stops working at 45º banks. And these are just a handful of limitations present in AC that weren't present in many titles when AC came out.
I was kinda amazed you got that laptime even with all those oversteer and understeer moments. I guess you push a bit harder than one would in real life in some corners because that car is very accurately made in AC. Also the Kevin's lap was mighty but not perfect
Got this game for like 6 bucks with all the DLC's maybe it was 10 bucks but its nice just to race around. I dont play race games a ton but for the price its pretty good!
i think that the biggest difference was in the speed. u reached 300kph while the real life lap only did 270 on the straight. maybe some specific in game settings or something. dope vid 🔥🔥🔥!!
Next up iracing in max graphics. Sure still not the best looks but the feel the sound and everything is sublime haha. Love ac too tough if you find the right mods
@ermz what was the track surface setting that you have used? I read in a forum post made by one of the Kunos devs that the "old" setting should be used for most realistic nordschleife lap times.

I think he knows what he is talking about to achieve the most realistic nordschleife conditions in his own game... 😉 the man has also seems to have a lot of real life nordschleife experience. @@flyfin108 it is not about the looks. Its the driving in AC that is flawed. Oversteering so many times, like a rally driver would do. Real life footage doesn’t show this car behavior

@@remissiveslave ac is pretty fun with all of the dlc, especially the japanese car pack. if you can get it on console with a wheel settup id go for it, but pc is something easy to get into, and worth it. building a pc isnt technical at all man lol.
@@remissiveslave AC is very forgiving in terms of performance, most budget pc's will run it smoothly. I understand it's a whole lot of money, but the pc version of AC is leagues ahead in terms of content. I'm sure you'd still have a blast tho
I'm on PS5 and I usually play Gran Turismo Sport. I'm curious about Assetto Corsa and its driving physics. Is the game worth buying on PS5, even though it doesn't have the community mods of the PC version? I have no interest in online racing, but I yearn for a very immersive single-player driving experience.

@@Ermz Had the same issue a few months ago. I reinstalled the vc redistributables and it's running great ever since. I can't emphasize it enough! You have to try the new BTCC content. The Focus ST is the best thing I've ever driven in any sim. It's front wheel drive but it makes so much sense through the feedback! GT3 and GTE cars feel shallow in comparison.
by the looks of it, it was 1to1 until the final stretch. this shows how outdated the aero is, and also the modded car probably didn't have a 1-1 spec recreation. but they got pretty close, also that car has carbon fiber on it, which the real one didnt have.
You needed to do a review on assoluto racing vs real life ( a copy of gran turismo for mobile ) pure physics , high tuning and great cars so plz review it!
Bare in mind in game cars don't represent the one to one physics, in assetto corsa it's a hit or miss gt7 does really well with that, I wish I can bolt a lot of downforce, but I don't want to much, I think ac and gt7 are the perfect rezablence, the confidence you get driving its amazing
This makes me wonder if there is ac mod that tells you the name of the next section / corner on Nordschleife as this would make things a lot more memorable and manageable.
AC has always been super bouncy to me and it's kept me from really pushing hard without feeling like I'm ice skating. I think AC:C is better but it still is kind of there. Hoping to have an AC-type game in the future with a better physics model overall, plus hopefully a more updated engine that inherently has better rendering and performance techniques that don't rely on mods.

You’ve clearly never touched AC to be calling it simcade. AC has some of the best steering feel of any sim, and requires a lot of skill in order balance on the edge of traction loss. Just because GT7 punishes you more, doesn’t necessarily make it more realistic. Don’t know if you know this, but cars make controlled slides all the time, even at such speeds, and even on streets. Just because the rear loses traction, doesn’t mean it’s not recoverable or manageable. The tire model isn’t perfect or modernized, but mods have improved on that.

Am i the only one who thinks that GT 7 is the best simulation out there? I also enjoy AC but in my opinion the cars tend to brake out way to easily in comparison to reality. In GT 7 i can drive fast consistently. I say this because i obviously have driven fast cars IRL and i don´t think (especially GT 3 Cars!) oversteer that fast IRL as they do in AC. What i want to say: AC isn´t a real simulator just because the cars take a lot of work to handle on track compared to other games like GT7. Would like to know if somebody feels the same and also thinks GT 7 is great as a simulation.
Both have their issues IMO. If I want to feel like I'm driving a car I'll usually drive in iRacing or ACC. But GT7 and AC are way better for content creation.

Lmaooo sorry to tell but gt7 is still a arcade game not a simulator like assetto. I could see that if you play console but assetto is so much better especially if your on PC. I think majority would agree.
Shadows are overdone, way to cut and clean. Colors are washed out, as most games are these days. The overuse of lighting effects typically washes them out. No interior reflections at all. Once you show the external view it gets far worse. Remember, the car has no moving parts, really, other than the wheels. This is basically rendering a shoe box in game. Not hard to make details look nice, they've been done in games for years now. I see nothing that impressive here.
There's more to the vehicle rendering in AC and honestly all sims than just the wheels 😁 there's some visual mods he could be running which would subjectively improve the appearance a lot, CSP with real mod would be a start and then go from there, but it's still a fairly pleasant experience out the box. You can still crank it and punish any modern GPU. I've spent hundreds of hours in it in 2D and VR as well as rf2, ACC, race07 etc, the game still holds up fine. Probably its worst aspect is lack of realistic bodywork destruction and the crash physics in multiplayer, but that's really splitting hairs.
The comparison was not about the look of this title as much as it was about the experience of the driving. Besides you can adjust the look of the game with shader tools to replicate the real world if that’s what does it for you.
Just install CSP. Then you got tire flex, stuff like the windshieldwipers is moving, even without csp the wings on cars with active aero are moving. And theres probably even more im missing out on. Also you can change the look of AC completely with csp and ppfilters and also with reshade so what are you talking about?

I always felt Gran Turismo was half real half arcade never more than the other side. Assettocorsa is super fun also I love playing both GT and AC

Actually no. Nordschleife have constant track days, so the asphalt is very grip.

Are you using pure or sol? The blur in cockpit view looks amazing too! How do you achieve that?
It's pure. The speed blur effect is one of the demo lua scripts Ilya provides in the newer versions of CSP.

@@peter91d it makes no sense. The time is dependent on all kinds of things and setup of the car. Much better to compare the feel.

Assetto corsa is no, feels much of a better driving simulator to play if you compare to project cars, in PC going threw the carousel it looked nothing at all like how you go threw the carousel because the any car you use in project cars handling is an a atrocious and hated the handling so much on that game bro, and it really sucks the assetto corsa of the PC had more content than the PS4 & Xbox one combined
Am i the only one who thinks that GT 7 is the best simulation out there? I also enjoy AC but in my opinion the cars tend to brake out way to easily in comparison to reality. In GT 7 i can drive fast consistently. I say this because i obviously have driven fast cars IRL and i don´t think (especially GT 3 Cars!) oversteer that fast IRL as they do in AC. What i want to say: AC isn´t a real simulator just because the cars take a lot of work to handle on track compared to other games like GT7. Would like to know if somebody feels the same and also thinks GT 7 is great as a simulation.
Both have their issues IMO. If I want to feel like I'm driving a car I'll usually drive in iRacing or ACC. But GT7 and AC are way better for content creation.

AC and acc are just okay nothing compared to gt7. They can be some players choice but not mine.

Lmaooo sorry to tell but gt7 is still a arcade game not a simulator like assetto. I could see that if you play console but assetto is so much better especially if your on PC. I think majority would agree.
Shadows are overdone, way to cut and clean. Colors are washed out, as most games are these days. The overuse of lighting effects typically washes them out. No interior reflections at all. Once you show the external view it gets far worse.
Remember, the car has no moving parts, really, other than the wheels. This is basically rendering a shoe box in game. Not hard to make details look nice, they've been done in games for years now.
I see nothing that impressive here.

There's more to the vehicle rendering in AC and honestly all sims than just the wheels 😁 there's some visual mods he could be running which would subjectively improve the appearance a lot, CSP with real mod would be a start and then go from there, but it's still a fairly pleasant experience out the box. You can still crank it and punish any modern GPU. I've spent hundreds of hours in it in 2D and VR as well as rf2, ACC, race07 etc, the game still holds up fine. Probably its worst aspect is lack of realistic bodywork destruction and the crash physics in multiplayer, but that's really splitting hairs.
The comparison was not about the look of this title as much as it was about the experience of the driving. Besides you can adjust the look of the game with shader tools to replicate the real world if that’s what does it for you.
Just install CSP. Then you got tire flex, stuff like the windshieldwipers is moving, even without csp the wings on cars with active aero are moving. And theres probably even more im missing out on. Also you can change the look of AC completely with csp and ppfilters and also with reshade so what are you talking about?
