Trillions of operations per second (TOPS) is a poor measurement because it's never been used for CPUs before. Some articles say Intel has never produced a processor with TOPS over 40 (MS's new standard is 45, which juuust so happens to be what the SD Elite X produces), but emphasis in news is generally on Intel's laptop CPUs. The 14900KF lacks a neural processing unit (NPU) which is a fancy shmancy processing unit that makes AI work more efficient, NOT necessarily faster. All this to say there's no clear answer on your CPU, but to make matters worse, you can easily obtain much faster TOPS with a simple graphics card. The NVidia 4050 can produce >190 TOPS, making these "AI" books mostly hype when it comes to performance.

@@hermanwooster8944tops is a very poor metric, yes, because you cannot compare cpu/gpu/npu tops to each other. All these processing units are good in other fields. GPUs are good in vector math, so they can add up 2 dimensional arrays pretty fast. NPUs are designed to work with tensors (>2 dimensional matrix). This means for a tensor operation that the NPU can do in a single cycle, GPU has to work much much more, and a CPU has to work insanely more compared to NPU. This is ofc just an oversimplified example but the point is that you cannot compare gpu tops to npu tops.
No Surface user has ever achieved as many working hours as advertised ;)

Same for me. I keep a Windows desktop for gaming but in terms of my actual work laptop, I’ll never switch back to Windows unless they get rid of the lag and bugs, no matter how good the battery life is

@@kasimshaikh3750 Yeah if you use Office extensively, especially Excel, it’s best to stick with Windows. Personally none of my work requires Windows, and even if it does, I can access everything I need through the company’s Remote Desktop access they give us.

@@Hariharan-ih5rk ? Are you mistaking this for the iPad Pro? I'm pretty sure any surface pen will work with all surface devices. Only some features will be missing on older devices

I am also going to pre-order the latest Surface Laptop and replace my Mac mini with it.
Not only is Copilot plus PC impressive, but I have always preferred Windows for video games. Since I am subscribed to Shadow, it’s perfect for me-plenty of power and battery life to last a long time without charging, while still having access to my Windows in the cloud for gaming.
I dont think these laptops are optimized for games .A MSI laptop probably would be better

Way overpriced for a rather weak machine. In the future we will get machines similar to this that come with much better performance and then it will be right for a particular set of users, but getting one now is like buying the first sdk for oculus; expensive guinea pig product.
