    Thank you so much!
I have been struggling with this issue for long enough. Right after viewing your video I recalled replacing the brake light switch, which probably accidentally affected the cruise control switch. So I went for a ride, pulled the brakes pedal, and voila - cruise engaged!
Once again, I am grateful for your video; may you and yours be ever blessed with all the best.

Thanks for the video. Mine had a button on the brake pedal arm that had fallen out causing the the switch to remain open. The video helped me identify the problem.

Me too!!! 2001 Nissan Pathfinder. It almost looks like a nickel (hard to see at that angle) was glued to the metal, top of pedal, under the brake light switch. Under the cc switch is just a hole and a gap between switch, no contact. Is this metal "button" an oem part and available? I'm thinking of gluing a nickel or stack of flat washers to match height of "button" and adjusting cc switch as needed. Thanks in advance.

First, THANK YOU! This is unfreaking believable! I have been assuming all along that my Q50 was needing sonar sensors (installed them by cutting holes in bumper-long story), then I needed an ICC unit but found out I didn't need that but a new front grill camera (didn't have one at all)? Nope! I have spent countless hours researching why I don't have cruise...now I know it's this switch after pulling the break pedal up with my foot while driving and setting the cruise. Now I just need a new switch or possibly adjusting the old one. Wow, thanks again!

Thank You George you are my hero. The cruise would not set yesterday but only the word "SET" would flash.
Today I lifted the brake pedal and it now works. I did not adjust the switch however I think the problem was a floor mat corner on the brake pedal.
    You are "Da Man".

Many thanks. Thought I might have an expensive repair to fix this.
But my MK1 Nissan Qashqai had this same fault. Although the procedure was different it still fixed it.
On mine, I had to remove the trim underneath the steering wheel, which gave me direct access to the switch (there's only one on my model of qashqai) I gave it a quick turn anti clockwise and it came straight out (there is no nut to loosen). Pushed it all the way back in a gave it a quick turn clockwise to lick it in place. And after about 10 mins work, I now have working cruise control.
    So
    Many thanks

Thanks! Awesome video. This is exactly what my 2012 manual Nissan Pathfinder was doing. I found the switch that you describe in the video, located on my clutch pedal. I removed the wires from the switch (very easy) & adjusted the switch in a counter clockwise direction until the clutch lever fully pushed the plunger of the switch in. Hey presto, cruise now works! Thanks from Australia.

Likely has a nut on top. I don't completely know gut I think you would turn it up up the shaft one or two turns after u loosen the lower nut. This drops the contactor lower to the pedal and then secure the lower jamb nut. Reason I mentioned it is so not to put twisting pressure on the wires if there doesn't seem to be enough slack in them. My luck would be I twisting the switch and do wire/connection damage.
Super good video. You helped alot of people

Your video was the missing link I needed! Most videos were focused on the cruise control only, but I found that my break piece had also fallen thanks to the great camera shots/you bringing it up. When the pieces originally broke, I kept them in the hopes that a mechanic would know exactly what was wrong. Yet, after using your video combined with the “one cent trick”, I tried it myself instead :) We’ll see if it actually worked in the morning…my neck started hurting from all the contorting, haha.

There is also a small rubber grommet that controls the cc if it breaks like mine did all you need to do is take 2 dimes and place them where the rubber grommet would be this is a much more simple fix and is more likely the cause of the problem

@@hamdanahmed2664 it's the one to the left, with the red/brown part. You don't need a wrench, just loosen by hand it 1/4 turn and lower it down until it clicks, then tighten it back 1/4 turn. Easy adjustment.

For anyone with the older models G35s like 2003, you will have a different model. Do not use tools for this! You WILL break the clips! Instead, look for the long black shaft that looks like it has threads. From the plug end, turn it counterclockwise and it will click (unlock) and then pull it out and rotate it 1/4 to 1/2 turn clockwise. Push it in and turn it clockwise into it clicks (locks). Be careful, well somewhat careful, because that shaft uses a 4 square female to male locking method. If you notice the threads, they have slots running the length of the shaft so it appears thread, slot, thread, spot, etc. If it makes it easier, you can press the plug lock in and pull the plug out of the connector to give you a little more room. Pull the plug out first if you have little room and then grab the part that is connected to the black shaft to make life a little easier. No tools required!

Ok I found what my problem was, there's like a plastic pin that press the button of the switch, this can be broken or missing so you will have a hole and the switch would not be pressed. I found my little plastic or rubber pad on the floor so I just put it back and my cruise control worked, I found you can buy it as "break pedal switch pad". Thanks to your video I started my investigation and then found the solution ❤

Okay .. 2000 pontiac grand am. Cruise light comes on at the steering wheel but has you said it won't engage. Used to be it would only engage for short while/ short distance then go off each time. Cruise word in gauge cluster does not come on even doing the edt foot brake pedal lift. My set screws are not brown and multi coloured but both are cream in colour. So I went with the right side one closest to the center console. It had its button all the way push in I backed it off so it just barely goes in once you let off the brake pedal. Not test drive it yet to see if that helped. Does not seem to be the large cruise module under hood nor its cable nor the three fuses on passenger side dash.

I had a problem with both the brake lights(staying on after switching off) and an issue with set cruise control .
Thanks to your vid I was able to fix the brake light issue to keep the switch closed and engaged by using a dime and some sticky tape. The little rubber pieces that kept the switches down disintegrate and fell off.
Cruise control still won’t set , even though I used the same method of sticky tape + dime to keep the blue switch pressed down.

Also where should the narrow button be on the other switch all the way in or out. Both mine were all the way it it looks like. As said I brought the right side one I believe the cruise engage switch out so after you press down on brake pedal and let go that when pedal comes back up it just barely pushes in the narrow button. Which I could attach photos to show you. Do you have an email to send you photos.

Watched one of your video's (INFINITI NISSAN CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT SET ENGAGE. EASY FAST FIX!!!). It does not apply to my 2016 Nissan Murano Platinum. My switches do not have nuts to lock the switch. The bracket the switches are connected to seem to be pressed through the metal. [Every picture I tried to take comes out blurred.] Both the brake and cruise switches are plastic, they have threads that may be in the bracket, but the switch doesn't turn. Your video comes up short of using the wrench to unlock/lock a nut. The play of the switch is only two or three millimeters. Using my foot to pull up on the brake worked once, but only on one leg of my trip.

    Hola buenas tardes,

I had a problem where my brake light was always on, because my 2003 G35 is already 15 years old I guess, so the plastic part broke on the upper part of the brake pedal, but I fixed it to where the brake lights work fine now, but I guess because the brakes were messed up due to the brake switch, now the cruise control doesn't work.

Hey man I have 2003 infinity g35 sedan and my cruse control is not working . When I click the button on the steering wheel to turn it on the light that says cruse control comes on but when I let go of the gas it slows down. I tried to fix it and adjusted like you did but it’s still not working. Can you help me ?
