  • My Cruise Control started malfunctioning with this random blinking action on my 2012 Infiniti G37 and wouldn't activate until I restarted my car, but then it would soon do it again. I found out the cause and hope this easy fix helps you.

    I’ve found if your brake fluid is low, it will cause that to happen, especially if it’s just at the line and I accelerate (causing the fluid to tilt backward) will set it off. I just top off my brake fluid and it goes away

    I knew about these buttons and I actually have some spare new ones for each clutch and brake as well as the rubber button that goes on each pedal. Didn't know it wad causing stupid light to flash. With a tuned car and extra maps it's important to be able to use the cruise control always. Tha ks a million like the shirt!

    I was getting this issue about 2-6 times per week randomly since I bought my g37 and I haven’t had the blinking cruise light for about 2 weeks now since I sprayed all the buttons on my clutch and brake. Topped up my brake fluid as suggested by one of the other comments too, no issues since.

    Whoa cool. I never thought of this. Gonna see if that's the problem on my versa. I thought it was a speed sensor. The brake switch makes more sense now as it always happens when I just start out. Now I get up to speed, go in neutral, turn the engine off and back on while rolling, and all is fine, until likely, when I use the brake a few times! We'll find out!

    Thanks mate, I had a problem with my nissan Dualis cruise control, when I turned it on the cruise light was on but the "Set" light would only flash and not allow it to engage. I cleaned the brake light switch and the clutch switch with WD40 which did not seem to make a difference, however I decided to see if there were any error codes that needed clearing and sure enough there was one, which after clearing it became operable again.

    If this doesn’t work its worth changing over your spring squib/Clock Spring (nothing to do with the time) as the cables tends to snap from there. You will need to remove the entire steering wheel to get to it

    I eventually found out what my issue was with my cruise control and it turned out to be nothing to do with the cruise system, it was in fact a faulty turbo charger temp sensor! I had read on another forum that this can happen when the sensor fails or starts to fail, error code on the OBD scanner was P0096. the new sensor cost $60 and literally an easy 2 min fix, being as it is located on top of the negine near the rocker cover, happy days again.

    • @GQ37official
      @GQ37official  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hard to say, I'm not familiar with the convertible mechanisms, but wouldn't think the convertible control unit would be connected with the cruise. If the method on the video doesn't fix the cruise then it's probably electrical.

    • @GQ37official
      @GQ37official  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CynsCorner ouch. That sounds really high, they much be charging about $350 for the install. It could be swirches, they both plug into the wheel, switches and clock spring, it's just way more common for the clock spring to fail. The switches are easier to get to than the clock spring since they're in the steering wheel which you have to take off either way, clock spring sits back a little further. My Infiniti dealer charged $250 to install a clock spring on my fx35 about 2 years ago (including the part) so that's why it sounds high. Unless you're doing it yourself I'd get s 2nd quote on install. Good luck and hope that fixes it!

    2015 Infiniti Q60 Convertible here, I cleaned both the rubber bumpers and spring and it is still doing this. I noticed every time i hit gas hard it causes it to go off every time any ideas? All fluids just got replaced a few days ago this was happening weeks before going to the dealership where they could not find a code for it.

    • @GQ37official
      @GQ37official  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      usually has to do with the switch not getting pressed adequately. The bumpers can become week and not put the right amount of pressure on the switch to fully press / depress it. In my case my button itself was becoming jammed and a little wd40 on the button fixed it. Some people have just replaced the rubber bumpers or adjusted the bolt for it to move closer or further away as mentioned in the video so that it's getting the adequate amount of pressure. You can also put something on top of the rubber bumper to make it closer to the switch, several layers of thick tape or a zip tie, something that will stay on while you try it and see if it works. Most dealerships don't even know what to do with this as it won't show up on a scanner. Hope that helps as I know this is an annoying issue.
