I have seen several designers making how to play video in the past and usually those are not pretty good ... so I was pleansantly surprised how good this explanation was, even for people not familier with the original isle of cats everything was very clear. Good job !!!

Hi Frank. I listened to you add some class and incite on the Sporadically Bored podcast earlier (Ep 72)!! 😂 It made me look at my collection and crack open Explore and Draw again. We just finished. So good, genuinely gives you the feels of a “big game” in the “small game” genre. My girls love it. I know you like to hear about family moments that have been made with your games, well when the rain was pouring outside and thunder was booming we played your game and I know my girls will remember playing today. Me with my memory and the Devon sea air will have no chance though!! 😅 Thank you.
I've spent many nights listening to the thunder over the Devon seas and it's one of my favourite things to do, I certainly miss it now I've moved away. So, it brings me a great joy to hear others having been enjoying such experiences and that Explore & Draw has added to that moment, thank you for sharing!

The boat sheets are laminated and can be used straight out of the box with wipeable pens.

Could you talk a little about the additions this adds over the remote version from last spring? I love the idea of dedicated card decks. Repeatedly sorting those out of the full deck gets old :)
Hey Katy, this is an evolution of the Remote Edition with its own components. The key difference is the lesson cards are more tailored for this mode (with the remote edition I was limited to what was already in the box) and there are also many more cards. In the Remote Edition you would see nearly all the cards/lessons each time you play while in this mode you will see about half, meaning you can't rely on predicting what comes out. This mode also has more interesting decisions around treasures due to how they are on the cards.
Rules wises it's very much the same game so hopefully this gives you a good idea of the key differences!

Are the boats and lesson sheets reusable?
Hi Jennifer, in the final version of the game they will be yes.
In this video I'm using a prototype which isn't, but your version will be reusable.
Is this game connected to the isle of cats?
Hi there, it is a standalone game meaning you can play it without owning The Isle of Cats, and you can play The Isle of Cats without owning it. However it offers a similar experience to The Isle of Cats and has the same theme. I hope that helps!
