I love Neil Gaiman and I love Neutral Milk Hotel, so when he held that record up I had a rather serious heart attack.
They were so great together, I was heartbroken for them when they split up.
Palmer and Gaiman look like they couldn't be more different. Opposite attracts and all that.

It's wonderful seeing Amanda and Neil interact. They're so adorable.
I met Neil and Amanda years ago. Neil used to live around Boston, and I met him at a book signing....in a church! Do you get the joke? Anyway, he was very humble, gratious, and polite. Amanda was there, and she said hi to me. That's about it. But a friend of a friend ran into them downtown...and they invited her to go to a club with them! "How was it?" "Great. Amanda was all over the dance floor." "and how does Neil dance?" "Like an awkward englishman."
Neil saw Svankmajer's films when he was young. It explains so many things ♥ ♥ ♥ I love these two!
I love them! They are such a beautiful couple. You can tell they have influenced each others' choices, and truly are interested (or want to try out) in what the other likes.

I feel my local equivalent is Powell's in Portland. Only sucks that people would linger for the cafe versus the books. I once spent like 8 hours there. My legs hurt because I never got a chance to sit.

why do the people featured on 'what's in my bag?' seem to always get music and films of what they already know (seen and heard before) don't they ever go for something new? or get a compilation of stuff they kind of know.

She didn't announce that she was the one who made the decision. She stated that he left lockdown because people were speculating and bombarding her with questions after he tweeted that he was in the UK.
They may very well come to a good point again. They both announced that they are just are taking time away from each other during Quaratine due to private issues, but are working to improve their marriage because they deeply love each other. All marriages go through rough times...

I was shocked that LPD is her favorite band, their pretty obscure. They're one of my faves too, along with vocalist Ka-Spel and cEvin Key from Skinny Puppy's The Tear Garden.

Just because you've never heard of her doesn't mean she's not a rockstar. A friend of mine once remarked of Radiohead "If I've never heard of them, they can't be very good," when they were the most popular band on the planet. She was basing world knowledge off of her own, which was pretty limited . As for Amanda's vanity, she's an incredibly sh*tty person.

Oh my God, the Joy Division book looks so wonderful! JD is my favorite band, and while she was talking about it my favorite song by them started playing. I love Neil and Amanda, together and apart. Soul mates for sure.
I wasn’t expecting a Pinback shoutout. One of the most underrated bands of my day. Saw them twice when MC CHRIS (Mc Pee Pants from ATHF) opened for them. I cried.

And Palmer just released an album with Edward Ka-spel. The videos are pretty amazing.
While its fun and interesting to think they are into or have experienced certain things. I would venture that most of these chats are staged and scripted in part about the content of the items. Not so much in the delivery. Either way still is nice to see random picks and see if the person who is watching might be interested in it. IE this is just a 10 minute commercial spot for these picks. The only way I'd consider this more actual than played up, is if Amanda or Neil themselves responded. Then I would rescind my statement here. Though this is highly unlikely. Otherwise their exposure,experience, and so forth with the given items is questionable.
I'm so naive. Just completely thought that artistic people would have this kind of range of interests.
So amazed Neil Gaiman didn't get a Cure album. I was convinced Robert Smith was the main inspiration for The Sandman (Dream). Let down :(
